BLACK FOLK AND PLASTIC SURGERY…. ATLANTA PLASTIC….
I see where soon a new reality show is going to start called ‘ATLANTA PLASTIC.’
Truthfully speaking I fail to see why black folk are starting to jump on this band wagon?
I think we watch far too much TV and salivate far too much over all these so-called stars on these reality shows, who now seem to be creating a new standard as to what black folk should look like… by spending big bucks to go up some plastic surgeon to supposedly make them look like whatever they envision in their heads what they want to look like… down to skin color and everything else.
From NeNe Leakes on down it is far too much. I happened to catch her just the other day on 1 of those networks where people sell their 
wares… and her hips were far too out there. And I think she added lips, had her nose fixed, put in more boobs etc… etc… etc…
Why would I want to do that to myself?
First of all you have to consider that your body is in a consistent state of transitioning. Your body never stands still. Your face does not look the same as it did when you were ‘say’ 5 years old. Your nose changed… eyes changed… your lips may have become fuller or more drawn out… but it is not the same and won’t be same when you hit 70… if you happened to be blessed enough to see 70 or 
80. Because we are continuously changing in terms of our shapes and sizes …and looks and even our heights. Our body does not stand still and nor does our faces or our boobs …or the lack thereof.
My son and his friends love Tamar Braxton… but what is real about her face. She looks fake… and I think she added boobs and the works too.
Then there is Wendy who wants everybody to believe she just developed naturally into what she looks like today… but if you could only see what she looked like in college.
So, you guys look at this stuff now and say, “Oh, wow…”
There is so much of it now. And it is all over the place… and more and more black folk are beginning to lend towards it.
But I wish I could put up on my Facebook page of a picture of the woman who used to be a beautician who decided she was going to get some work done to her body. It left her paralyzed and unable to work …or to do much of anything else and looking like a disaster. That’s her is this picture here.
I never really liked what I looked like either… but then who really does as we are growing up?
But now when I see me in a mirror I have to marvel… because I am not half bad and certainly not as bad as I thought I had been. But I have evolved …and I am yet evolving. And so are you.
But I have never been into ‘self-hate’ and that is what I think of people who go out and destroy themselves believing they can create through the help of a plastic surgeon a ‘better them.’
There was a time when we used to scoff at people who went out to see plastic surgeons to have 
work done to themselves. We laughed at people like Michael Jackson for bleaching their skin… changing their noses … or Janet having a rib removed. But now black folks are running out like crazy and spending tons of money …on these wacko doctors or so-called doctors… better known as plastic 
surgeon to get all kinds of work done to themselves from belly tucks, cheekbones added, lipsuction, noses done, jawbones adjusted… etc… etc… Michael even had a clef added to his chin.
And now this… ATLANTA PLASTIC.
smh….(for those of you who didn’t understand ‘smh’ … I’m shaking my head)
All the wrong things are glorified in our culture today. Just look at the mess that many people are in with all that tattooing. So many of them have gone so overboard with it they look like Satan worshipers.
.. which many may well be.
The same thing could be said about piercing… not just your ears but everything else and in between.
It is really far too too too too much.
And here comes ‘ATLANTA PLASTIC’ to put the final nails to the coffin.
The purpose of this show is merely to glorify an already very growing trend among black folk today. And it is not just in the 
secular world but also in the gospel and Christian world as well. Pastors, gospel singers, evangelist etc… etc… etc.. are all indulging in fixing something about themselves from lightening their complexions to reconstructing their faces. That Paula White you can’t even remember what she used to look like… but it sure wasn’t what she looks like today. Juanita Bynum is another 1 who has had
tremendous work done on her face. Bishop Paul Morton’s wife lightened her skin and did some other things to her face like fixed her nose. That T. L. Penny …lighten herself, added boobs and did some 
other things too. Kirk Franklin is said to have had some work done on his face. And the list goes on and on and on and on…
And this show coming onto TV is going to push those numbers even further… and that is exactly what it has been produced to do… to create a desire in highly 
impressionable viewers to rush out and get some plastic surgery done on themselves too. And hopefully… I guess the show wants them to be willing enough to make trips down to Atlanta to get it done. So, look out for them to be pushing the doctors and exactly what they are supposedly experts at doing.
But I would say don’t fall for it. There are things in life we are just made to endure… and becoming a mother causes some leftover tell-tell factors on our bodies… but does that mean we should seeking to bring our bodies back to what it may have been and looked like before that 4th child?
I think not.
Recently I saw Salt and Pepa on an interview and I was shocked to see that Pepa… whom I always thought was beautiful… and ‘I 
LOVE 
PEP.’ But I saw that she too had gone up under some surgeon’s knife. I won’t say what I thought of the after effects because I have always liked Pepa… she’s a very nice person but I really wish she had not gone to see any surgeon regarding her face… even with age she had to look better than what that surgeon left her.
Not really a big reality TV fan… or much of a television watcher anyway… I have no real idea of what Tamar
used to look like but I can see that down to their mother they have all gone under the knife… including Toni.
I wouldn’t play with my face or body like that. There are far too many disaster stories out there for me to consider going up under some plastic surgeon’s knife 
to cut or change anything about me artificially. And I am a believer ‘if you are not sick… stay away from doctors… because they will make you sick if you don’t.’
And when it goes wrong… it goes wrong. And there is no way to correct it after you and they… those plastic surgeons have messed you and your body up.
Talking about reality shows… since the 2nd episode of ‘PREACH’ I have yet to see any more episodes. Did I just happen to miss them or was that show dropped following the first 2 screenings of it on TV?
Well, God bless…. it Friday and I haven’t really been all that busy this week, but I am now beginning to get back into the throws of things. And it feels good.
I bought myself a blender off of 1 of those shopping networks. So, I am shifting my eating habits a bit. When I get out of here I’m going to go buy me some more bananas… or sometime this weekend. I got a couple of whole pineapples and a can of peaches I’ve been looking forward to mixing 
up with some crushed ice… which my blender is quite capable of doing just fine. And I am going to kick up my heels and enjoy the weekend… and I sincerely hope you do the same.
But I do not want to get out of here without making mention of Sandra Bland or Sam Du Bose… 2 very sad situations in the unnecessary deaths of yet 2 more black folk. Of which I am highly sadden by… and question… and pray comfort and justice to their families… though nothing can give them back what they have lost and that is their love ones senselessly…

PAULA DEEN CHEF BY DAY… RACIST BY NIGHT… THE FIRST FAMILY…
Sometimes things just slip out when we least expect them to.
Sometimes some of the things we do and say may not seem hypocritical or hurtful to us.
Sometimes things just catch up with us.
Sometimes we pretend to be 1 way but really are another.
Which of these scenarios do you think best fits celebrity chef Paul Deen?
When 1 of my next door neighbors stopped me to tell me this story I must admit I did not understand what she was saying. I thought she was talking about some radio station DJ acting a fool again, like Imus in the Morning had done… before he got canned. But it was not until my son began to tell me this story that I finally got a clearer picture of what my neighbor had been trying to say to me.
Not a big television watcher I really was not familiar with the 
name, Paula Deen. Though my neighbor had said it and said it again several times, as if I should have known her personally. But of course I did not. But now that I have looked up the story, I have to admit that I had caught Paula Deen at least once tossing in a couple bars of butter into some dish she was preparing on the Food Network.
One could hardly say that what she said was purely by accident. Meaning it was how she was accustom to talking… though never before the cameras. And why not I wonder?
Well, maybe because she knew it was wrong. That it was backwards and intolerable. But however backwards that way of thinking is and talking… it finally caught up with Paula Deen. Oh, yeah, she can blame it on her back home training and down-home southern roots. But can that really justify what Paula said… or has been talking for years? I mean she is a grown woman… a grand-mother at that besides being a big time TV chef. So, she is certainly old enough to know that using that word or any word like it 
was unacceptable and offensive to many. And that the times have long ago changed… when white people could simple use such words and get away with it.
Let us examine this in its totality. Exactly what did Paula Deen say?
Well, it seems that Paula Deen liked throwing around the ‘N’ word. She and her brother, a partner with her is some restaurant they own together. They both based upon reports liked calling some of their non-white workers by the ‘N’ word. And Paula called a TV assistant the word a few times too many it certainly appears.
In a legal action brought against Paula Deen …and 1 possibly against her brother too, 
both are accused has having referred to African American employees as the little ‘N’ word. In various news reports it is stated that her brother continuously referred to at least 1 employee as ‘a little monkey.’ And it also seems that Paula Deen was planning someone’s wedding… where get this… Paula decided it would nice to have a ‘plantation style wedding’ with some little (the ‘N’ word) running around and dressed up like slaves.
Now, how far in denial was she?
Who did she believe would not get upset or find that ‘offensive?’
There are people who just do not want to let the ol’ south go. They want to pretend like the Civil War really did not happened. And that the ol’ south will rise up once again.

So, yeah I would say that Paula Deen’s out and out racists remarks and backward thinking deserved to get her booted off the Food Network… seeing that many African Americans love that channel, and many other minority people, as well. And a whole lot of ethnic cooking goes on on that network.
In fact, many of Paula Deen’s southern style recipes have their direct roots in the African American style of cooking… whether Paula would admit to it or not.
So, lets face it we live in a big world… full of lots of people of all sorts… all kinds of nations and religions etc. And the world and its people are forever growing.
Is it not time that we put aside ever strife and ill thinking when it comes to people who do not look like us?

But there are some people who just want to believe that they are more superior to other people. That they are smarter… more progressive… higher achievers… more accomplished etc… etc… etc. And there are... but it is just not the ones who usually think they are.
When you go back into history and really track this thing… if the truth be total all civilization got its start in 
Africa. The first universities, libraries, mathematicians etc… you name it… architects, astrologers etc. etc… all of it got started in African. In fact, scientists today are still mystified by some ancient ruins. They are even still trying to figure out just how certain structures such as the pyramids had been built.
The books say Africans were not seafaring people. But historical events defy that lie. In Biblical scripture, II Chronicles 8:18, it speaks of a man named, Huram, who was a master builder who had built up cities for King Solomon, for storage of his chariots and riches. This man Huram also had servants who manned his ships. Yes, the Bible said ‘ships.’ And it also said that this man’s men possessed knowledge of the sea.
Which goes to say that yes even way back then, thousands of years ago, in Solomon’s time African men were building large sea vessels and riding the seas. When you consider the land mass of 
Africa in Biblical times… Africa stretched straight to and included Asia. Which takes me to another point and that is… that the entire Bible basically takes place in 
Africa… not in Europe except for when Caesar and Rome come into the picture, and those other places across the Mediterranean Sea, such as Macedonia and Greece etc. As all the countries and/or nations as we know them today had not been birth yet… nor boundaries such as those of today, therefore, Africa in its time had to have been very powerful. This is something which has never been reflected in any of our history books.
The history books also do not reflect all the great contributions and inventions created by African Americans even while in this country. And there a tremendous amount of them of considerable importance not only to this country but to the world… but there is a reason.
This reason goes all the way back to the myth and historical stereotyping of us that had been created and propagated by those who desired to keep what they called us back then 
‘darkies’ in their place. So, the myth was that we were not smart… could not learn… were lazy and shiftless. Also, as time went on it became that we were born criminals… and scoundrels… and not to mention that we were less than human… animals to be owned and bred.
And so… here we are today in the 21st Century still having to deal with old myths and stereotypes … and names made to keep us down… hold us back and seemingly needy. They 
were created to hinder us and our children from ever achieving anything in this country… least of all any level of pride and our own sense of real self-worth.
It is interesting that this Paula Deen thing has come up when it has… as I happened to catch a portion of a television program Sunday. As I have already made mention in at least a couple of my prior blogs, as well as, this 1 I really rarely watch television any more… but I happened to be over my sister’s house this weekend, and normally while there I try to
catch up on my television watching… as there is really nothing else for me to do there except to watch television. So, this show was called ‘THE FIRST FAMILY.’ It was… or is supposed to be a spoof on the Obama family in the White House. Needless to say I found it to be repulsive and a slap in the face to our real First Family.
I remember sitting in class and a discussion came up about a made for TV movie on the Reagan family during Reagan’s White House years. Mind you that this discussion was years after Regan was dead and after he had long left the White House. Yet, the outcry against that movie was soooooo great. Every talk show hosts and news medium was doing a story on the uproar that movie was causing. The TV network that was set to air the movie backed out… and another network picked it up. But there were tons of letters …there were lots of phone calls… there were a lot of screaming and hollering over this movie about this man, Ronald Reagan, and how this movie would portray his legacy, his 
image, his years as a President etc… etc.. etc.. They saw it as being aimed to discredit Regan, and refused to allow the movie to air without a fight. And fight they did.
When you think of the Queen of England and how they hold her is such high regard and her position as Queen, they would never allow any sit-com to be made about the Royal Family where they would be the brunt of jokes… and made to look incompetent. This is also the why they used to think in this country concerning the White House and the Presidency until…
Well… until the Obama’s moved into the White House.
I am very proud of the First Family, the Obama’s. Compared to the vast majority of the Presidents who have occupied the White House they are truly a family to be put up as a national example of what a good family is supposed to not only look like, act like or be like… but is. The President, Barack Obama, and his wife, Michelle Obama, are more than just great parents they are exceedingly good role models for those looking to marry. They exemplify what 1 should
seek in his or her future marriage with regard to their husband or wife. And how to ensure that your marriage works.
So, yes I find any show, play, television program or anything else designed to make a mockery of them totally distasteful and highly offensive… and clearly an attempt to be a slap in the face of President Barack Obama and his family. It is beyond me if they really wanted a laugh how no one thought to come up with a sit-com on the Bush’s… wouldn’t have had to look far for material to laugh about there.
Hopefully, that show will get cancelled… and it never should have been allowed in the first place. What an insult to all of us.
Now, going back to Paula Deen and her story. Yes, she definitely deserved to get the boot off the Food Network. I would venture to say if ever there was a word she wished she had 
probably never learned… it was the ‘N’ word. It cost her greatly… and rightly so.

UP-DATE…Tuesday, June 25, 2013: Just a little update on the Paula Deen story… something that I came across today. The Food Network owns another network. And Paula’s show on that network was not pulled. Uh-huh… How people do love to play games. It looks 1 way 1 way… while they are doing something else another way.
Okay, now that the cat is out of the bag lets see what the Food Network is really going to do… on their sister channel…

the Wendy Williams ship wreck…
Tell me…
“Who really listens or watches that stuff…called ‘The Wendy Willams 
Experience’?”
“Do you not have anything going on in your life that you would take your valuable time to give someone like Wendy Williams one second of it?”
She is a ship wreck…just look at her.
When you sell yourself for what you consider ‘fame’…then you are on a fast track to one big ship wreck. There is little wonder that H0t 98 in New York showed her the door, and then Philly decided to slam it in her face when they too had had enough, and gave her the boot. Now, back in New York she is still trying to create high arbitron ratings by stirring up controversy.
Wendy is a sinking ship. Better yet…a ship wreck.
You can only go but so long…trying to cause havoc in the lives of others as a means of your talent. Beyond a point people will begin to look for more. And more…is something which Wendy Williams does not have. That is why she can only do 
what she does…..try to create a living while living off others.
It is sad when someone so visabily sells their soul to the devil and grins at you as though they are happy. And you can look into their eyes and see that they are not.
You cannot be happy living the kind of life and lie that Wendy Williams lives. First of all she has no real talent. What she has is just a trick of the enemy…created to deceive.
How dare she be sitting on the radio calling herself giving advice to people…when she needs to be sitting on a psychiatrist couch herself. Better yet…calling upon the name of the Lord for some help.
I will never forget once while driving through the streets of Manhattan 
and somehow the radio happened to be on WBLS and the Wendy Williams Experience…and now that I think about it. I was in the car with one of my nieces…when she turned the radio to the Wendy Williams Experience.
That day was a day that Doctor Wendy was on duty. A woman called in, and I don’t know if it was real or something Wendy and crew had invented. But now that I think of it, it was a fax supposedly faxed into the radio station telling Wendy that she was married to someone she was considering leaving. The person to whom the woman was married to was supposedly suffering from cancer and was very sick…near dying. And she was asking Wendy for help to decide what to do because she wanted to leave him.
Now, that show has stayed with me for a very long time…because Wendy very uncaringly trying to create humor out the situation gave some of the most bogus advice I had ever heard. She asked of herself in the reading of this fax…well, how long have you been together? Was he ill when you married him or did he just become sick? WHAT?
Wendy told the woman that as long as she continued to received some kind of benefit from being with the man then she should stay. But if there wasn’t a benefit to staying then the woman should get out of the marriage. And Wendy
said this as if she were an ‘all knowing’ and ‘learned pyschologist’…or some kind of prophet.
Yes, I have a problem with people trying to pass themselves as something which they are not…and with people who think that everything is funny when it is not.
I have had a problem with ‘The Wendy Williams Experience’ for a long time.
When you sit in a position where you can ‘speak life or death into a situation’ and chose to speak death…then you are wrong.
The Bible says that the power of ‘life and death is in the tongue.’
When you have millions of people hanging onto your every word you have to temper your tongue…and seek not to give bad sinful council.
There may not be profit from speaking truth…but there is peace. Which of…Wendy Williams has none. Practically ever rapper, dancer, singer and everybody else is out to get her.
How can you live like that?
Then to mess up your body and life so much. Come on, Wendy.
That breast job…really. Come on…a grown woman trying to play and look like one of the kids. It looks ridiculous. Grow up…grow up. And get saved.
The time for foolishness is offer.
And poor little Robin Givens.
What?
Getting happy because Wendy has a list of every white male she ever went to bed with.
And we wonder why the kids are in the state that they are in?
Look what they are listening and watching. These are the role models they fashion themselves after.
TURN THAT MESS OFF!
And shut it down.
No wonder Whitney Houston threaten to pay Wendy Williams a visit one day. I wish I had a recording of that…when Whitney told Wendy that she was from Newark. Whitney didn’t even say that she was from Jersey. No, she made a point of saying 
that she was from ‘Newark.’ And that does mean something. To those people who know…it spoke volumes…believe me. And Wendy understood it…loud and clear. Because she started stuttering and lost her train of thought.
And Whitney was not joking. I still laugh when I think of that day.
I love you, Whitney. One of the few people who has ever put Wendy Williams in her place.
Whitney, I pray that you come victoriously out of that wilderness that you are in. Be mindful…that God is able. And let not deceivers deceive 
you. You already have the victory.
How dare Wendy try to reap rewards off the suffering of others.
