COLLECTING THE MEMORIES of INAUGURATION 2013 President Barack Obama…

image_largeIt may have been cold… but we showed up again to celebrate not 1 but 2 moments in our great history… both the 2nd inauguration of President Barack Obama… 265145_10151308364563241_1565993341_nand of course, the birthday of Dr. Martin L. King, Jr.

They say about a million people showed up this year to President Obama’s inaugural… but we all know that it was probably far more than that.  They said only a few thousand for the Million Woman March in Philly… but nobody could tell me that.  There had to have been a least a million plus women there… because when you looked out over that massive crowd of Black Women… all you could see were the top of heads for as far as you could any which way you looked.

01.17.13news-flickr-inauguration-metro-editThey had 2,200 people marching in the parade… which included over 150 horses and about 50 dogs, trained to obamamlk_answer_1_xlargeassist those disabled or otherwise encumbered yet living independent.

The Hawaiians showed up… our native American Indians showed up… Mexican dancers … drilled teams from high schools, Jr. Colleges and various college campuses including 12262012_AP090120057733_jpg_300those Grambling University  high-steppers… a Inaugural Paradegay band… military of all types… forest ranges… mounted patrols… Tuskegee Airmen…OI24 50 floats… and I can’t remember it all.  And President Obama waved and smiled all 20130121_inauguration18_33through it.  It was wonderful… and full of all kinds of people… young and old… including 6 130121_inauguration_crowdbuses of folks from New Hampshire with their band… who all came out to celebrate the commencement of224565_10200427531789456_1438621749_n our President’s second term in the Oval Office.

God bless… hope you enjoy the rest of the week.  It has gotten cold again… with a little more snow.  But then… it is winter.  g183183000000000000aa6c1f70d3f5e675f5219d93d4c5e3fdf4ed1f65

And yes, we did it…  And no devil from hell or all the money from hell could not stop us.

What a great day in American History… Monday, January 21, 2013.

Truly history to be savored forever…

And what makes it doubly so Obama made sure to include a lot of  our history in it… including a traveling Bible that Dr. King used to carry with him during his travels from town to town during our Civil Rights struggle here in America.

ON POLITICS…THE DEBATES 2012…OBAMA/ROMNEY and BIDEN/RYAN…

To date we have had 2 debates leading up to the Presidential Election, one with Mitt Romney matching up against President Obama, and the other John Ryan vs. Vice President Joe Biden.  What struck me as interesting following these 2 debates was how much the following commentary varied.

It appeared to alright when Mitt Romney kept interrupting and overstepping  President Obama, but when Joe Biden interrupted Ryan all the spin doctors called Biden rude  and disrespectful.  And who could be more disrespectful than that rude loud mouth Rush Lim-whoever who had a nerve trying to act offended by Biden trying to set the record right over Ryan’s lies.

Why is it that when their guy does it is it okay?

But when the other side does it …it suddenly becomes an issue?

Because this is how the Republicans play.  It is harder to find anywhere, I suspect, a bunch of liars and cheaters as we have here in the United States, who look at other countries and think we are sooooo much better.  And to a regard we are… in fact in many ways we are.

But a liar and a cheap in any country is nonetheless a liar and cheap… and such people only mean to exploit and use their people and/or position they are lying are trying to cheat their way into for selfish and mostly self-serving advantage.

So, when Mitt Romney and  John Ryan lie about things that they honestly know to be untrue it is solely for the purpose of trying to instill fear into voters… just to get into the White House.  Fear and lies were tactics that the prior Republican knew very well and manipulated well for 8 years to almost the demise of this country.

The facts under President Obama speak for themselves and you really do not need a hard-sell car salesman to drive home that Obama regardless of opposition to stall him… hinder him… and anger him has made a difference.  And what a breath of fresh air.

Obama has made a difference… and it has been for our good and it has been a positive difference.  We are no longer sitting in the dark wondering if our Allies will come our rescue… or join us… or when the next airplane is going to fly into another building.  And not to mention having brought our men and women home from Iraq by ending that war as he promised.

But under George Bush this was not the case because Bush turned all our Allies against us… and worked diligently to ensure that America stayed fearful of another attack from some Al Qaeda force or forces.  And this mind you… you Republicans after your former Republican leader got us into senseless wars killings thousands of Americans, destroyed our economy, almost brought down our entire banking system… and that of the world too, and left us in tremendous debt which Republicans do not talking about.

In fact, Republicans try to pretend that George Bush ‘may’ have left a problem.

MAY have LEFT A PROBLEM????

George Bush left more than a problem and the Republicans… all of them help him to do it by backing and voting for everything that George Bush put upon the table that could be backed and/or voted for.  While failing to support Obama in any kind of way with the hope that Obama would fail.  But President Obama has not failed regardless of the attacks upon him, his record and his initiatives.

Obama got ObamaCare through the White House, he got Bin laden, unemployment is down to it’s all time low since the last 4 years.  And all of this without the aid of the Republicans, who have only sought to hinder every gesture by Obama to fix what Bush broke.

I will never forget how shortly after President Obama got into office that he sought to massive work done to the infrastructure of America, by having high-speed trains and railways put in around America, and offered money to states to get involved.  And there were certain Republican Governors who refused to accept the federal funds that Obama was offering to their states, because they preferred  see the plan sink rather that their state take the money that would have surely opened up thousands of jobs for people all across this country.

So, when you get right down to it… Republicans do not care really about the people who vote them into office.  They care mainly about their own personal interests, the few multimillionaires who assist in funding them and ‘their combined interests’ ….and they care about winning an election at any cost and regardless of how many lies they have to tell… and support in order to do it.

It is sad.  But it is American Politics as it stands today.

And the good guy comes in last.

During the debate between Mitt Romney and Obama… Obama did not try to over-talk Romney or continuously interrupt him, as Romney did when Obama or the moderator was speaking.  And at the end of the night the spin doctors were declaring what a marvelous debater Romney was and how he had won the debate.

Mitt Romney is far from being a great debater one needs only to look back at the debates he had when he was trying to get to the point where he now is.  During those debates where he and about 6 other Republicans were battling to become the candidate for the Presidency.  In those debates Romney became un-wired… unglued… and was outted as being a liar, a flip-flopper and a man who could not stand up against his own record as Governor of Massachusetts, where he sat doing nothing during that term but dreaming about running for President… which by the way was the only reason Mitt took up residence in Massachusetts.

Then there is the question of  Mitt’s religious beliefs.  It is a question which should hardly be left unchallenged since Romney religion believes that women have neither voice nor rights.  So, how could this man become the President of a country where women’s rights had been deemed the standard and model for women in countries like Iraq?

It would be a contradiction.

And based upon the fact that Mormon pretty much use woman as mere baby factories… of course issues such as2ab-the-bishop-wifecover women’s right to make decisions over their own bodies would be in total conflict with Mitt’s religious beliefs.  Or women holding any office of authority would also go against Mitt’s religious order.

And how about all those older men marrying those young pre-teen girls… and all their multiple wives?

In fact, when one sits down and thinks about how in the world could a man like Mitt Romney possibly govern or command a country such as the United States, when everything he has been taught and trained to believe is not of our world… but of the Mormon world… a world that operates in their hubs as they have designed it to operate.  And whose beliefs are not quite the same as ours… as it is a kind of reformed Christian thinking that can pretty much be called a cult.

I look forward to the next 2 debates.  Where Mitt will refused to address anything to put him by Obama and use tactics called-

‘Deny… deny…. deny… and run to another subject.”

It such be fun.

One final note…. it has always amazed me how a man… Bin laden who was supposedly on dialysis could have been running in and out of caves and dodging American intelligence all of these years?

Either Bush lied about that too  or the man was super-human.

Thanks again to those of you who have purchased my book, THE BISHOP’S WIFE.  As I said in my last blog it is amazing…  I cannot not believe how much my book is moving …and I thank you from the depths of my heart.  Please let me hear from you regarding my book.   I would love to know how you liked it… or didn’t like it… or whatever…. either way.

In fact, I have finally heard from someone.   Their comment was “Should have gotten a copy writer.”   Well, that comment bothered me because I believe in excellence.  If let me apologize  if you find this to be the case.  I do find books littered with errors difficult myself.

So, truly write me and let me know what you think?   It helps us as writers…   Well, it helps me.  Thank you… and sorry about any errors, typos… or text not properly or clearly written.  Forgive me…

Between Lisa Raye and Michelle… 41 Bullets/Police Violence… Student Beaten… and Tyler Perry…

Well, between Lisa Raye and Michelle Obama…I don’t know who people having been hitting this blog site to read more of lately.

Like everyone else I too am curious about Michelle Obama’s reception in Mexico and Haiti. But was there any doubt that just like the Queen of England…everyone everywhere was also going fall in love  with her too.

There is just something about her. Michelle Obama is just able to click with everyone. I am sure that Joe Biden’s wife is happy to be partnered up with such a fab woman.

In past years most First Ladies and the Vice President’s wives never really got along well at all. Which really isn’t hard to understand at all since most Presidents chose the guy who could have won them…may have even hated him but he looked good on the ticket.

So, before the pairing up while everyone was going for the gold…making their own run to win the White House…there usually was a lot of mud slinging.  Now, what wife would love somebody’s wife behind all of that…and particularly if  his wife was a sob…which in many causes may have been the truth.

But I don’t think Jill Biden would have ever called Michelle Obama that. There is nothing sobby about Michelle. In fact…I think you could say she goes out of her way to ensure that no one feels that way about her. But then one can see that Michelle is not all about putting on ‘airs’…or shoving her nose high into the air. She is real.  And because she is so real…everyone everywhere just adores her.

http://www.politicsdaily.com/2010/04/14/michelle-obama-mexico-haiti-trips-defining-her-image/?icid=main|hp-laptop|dl1|link1|http%3A%2F%2Fwww.politicsdaily.com%2F2010%2F04%2F14%2Fmichelle-obama-mexico-haiti-trips-defining-her-image%2F

Truly, she is Obama’s secret weapon. That is what they called her while he was making his run for the White House. But all in all Michelle…fashion and all has stood up to the test.

I recalled while up late one night and listening to a black woman hosting a radio talk show talking about Michelle’s way of dressing. She was critical about where she claimed Michelle needed some help in her choices. I am sure that woman has since eaten all of those words…since Michelle Obama’s manner and style of dress has become the ‘in’  way of putting it  all together.

The best part of  it all…like Barack…Michelle Obama is her own person…her own woman.  She doesn’t let alot of  people dictate to her what she should or shouldn’t be doing…or dressing like.   And what a mom she is.  There is so much love there.

She is a tremendous role model for women and girls everywhere.

Now, on to Lisa Raye.  I have to admit that whenever I happened to catch the TV show that she used be on…I always thought she was attractive.  And I really liked her voice.

But I have to admit…she is a bit rough around the edges.  Sorry, Lisa Raye…but all that cussing and all that stuff…you know the low clothing…and exposing everything.  Well…come on.

Now, I know that Lisa is originally from Chi-Town…better known as Chicago for those of  you who don’t know.  And sure Chicago has some rough-necks…but then they have the softer side too…and plenty of them.  There is plenty of  style and class that comes out of  Chicago.  It was after all the city that was home to Johnson Beauty Products, Ebony…and Jet Magazine, and a lot more…not excluding the home and birth place of  Lady ‘O’…Michelle Obama.

I know her reality show ‘The Real McCoy’  is due to begin…if  it hasn’t already started.  And based upon the number of  people who have hit this site looking for info on Lisa…they are anxious over the show…and want to know more, and as much as they can about Lisa Raye.

Now, Lisa and Da Brat are half sisters as many of you know…who people have been hitting this site to read about also.  Both are attractive but just as rough around the edges.  But I have not heard anything about the Da Brat lately…but I have been looking to see if  she is out of  prison.  But I haven’t seen or heard anything on that yet…though I think her 3 years should be just about up soon.

Finally, I have finally seen something by Tyler Perry.   I know…I know…I must be the only person on the planet who hadn’t.

Clearly, Tyler has a built in crowd of  followers…and I am just not one.  Though as I sat in the theater I could tell that men equally , as well as, women love  Tyler.   He definitely has them hooked.

But I thought the film was filled with a lot of  poor acting.  And the actors who could act totally out shined their counter-parts.

But what I felt was lacking mainly was a plot, a good script… and a good story… besides some the poor casting choices in some places.    The movie was just one vingnette after another… which is a just a series of  little stories.  Which to me never really got told properly.   I guess because of  a lack of  time…as it seemed to me that the film had been a bit rushed.  It would have been nice though if  there had been one real story somewhere in the midst of  it.

But, however, I will say this…the people who love Tyler Perry truly love him…and all of  his work.  And I am not hating him for being successful at what he does.

And speaking of the movie…I was all set to watch Jill Scott throw down on the big screen .  I was hoping she was going to blow it away.  Well…I  had thought that her acting skills might  have matched her singing skills.

But…naw….  They it didn’t.  And I was disappointed.  Because I had heard that Jill  is starring in some show on TV too.  So, I was thinking-

“Wow, she must be good.”

But it was definitely not the case…and as much as I love Jill.   I truly hate to say that.

But I still think that she is beautiful.  I could see her taking Oprah’s place…in a few years.

Can’t you?

With some coaching from the ‘Master’ of  all ‘Masters’…namely Oprah…Jill could do it.  I bet cha’.

Now, I saw the video of  the white student who was beat by several police officers.  And yes…I do agree.

“Agree on what you say?”

I agree that if  that student had been a black student…we probably would not have heard as much about it…nor would those police officers been put on suspension.  I have seen and heard many situations of  black folk  finding themselves at the mercy of abusive and angry white police officers.   Just view some of  the below video clips.

Police acting out in ways that have been highly questionable has never been anything that many black people can’t tell you much about…such as Rodney King and many many others.

I’ll never forget the issue of 41 bullets and Amadou Diallo…a young African immigrant who met with a fatal end when he was entering his own apartment building, as he was approach by a group of police officers who opened up and began shooting at him at close range…upon supposedly him reaching to pull out his ID in an attempt to identify himself.   Then there was that group of  4 young black men on the New Jersey Turnpike who were stopped on the highway and shot without provocation.

And the list goes on and on…and on without much ever happening to the officers in question.  Who for the most part never missed a beat…or suffered any repercussions  or consequences for any of  their actions…nor any loss of pay…or any real trials…etc…

I have been reading a little about women behind bars who are currently being allowed to have and care for their babies in prison.  I do have some very real and quite bias feelings on the matter.  But it does not come without some knowledge on the matter.

Not that I have personal knowledge or experience with it…but that I have a very dear and good friend whose mother gave birth to her while she was locked behind bars for murder.  The stigma it left upon my friend was often evident to me whenever my friend would share that part of  her life experience to me.  It bothered her…like it was a mark against her from birth.  In speaking about it she often sighed…and lowered her voice in a clear indication of shame.

And I can understand why.

And you should too.

What child or person wants to walk  around with that on their birth certificate..or any knowledge of  something like that?

What a sad way to start your life on this planet…locked behind prison bars with your mother.

Since, most of  those mothers and practically everybody in those news segments on the story was black,  when I saw pictures on the story or saw news items on it over the net…it is just one more strike against some kids who already are going to have marks against them.  Because (1)…their mother was sentenced to prison for some type of crime.  (2)…Because they had the mis-fortune of being born into a situation that I would be hard pressed to believe that any child would want to be born in.  (3)…Because they are already poor…disadvantaged…and powerless without the bars or the confinement.

Then what about health and safety issues surrounding life behind bars?

That’s a rough life.  I wouldn’t  want an infant or a child…little or otherwise to have to endure any part of it.  It would have to be depressing.  I mean there is little to no freedom in prison…it is like an animal being born in a zoo.

Sorry, to state it that way…but you think about it.  And it is not the cleanest place to have babies in…much less for children to play in.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21134540/vp/36456147#36430344

http://www.seattlepi.com/local/111275_2purdy06.shtml

http://www.correctionsreporter.com/2009/11/15/moms-and-babies-locked-up-together/

I doubt that we will really read any real reports on this story about babies born behind bars and being allowed to stay with their mothers there, and the effects of it…since it will be about 20 or so  years before we will really find out whether or not it is or was a good idea.   But I do not need that long to give you my answer…and I do not care what the reports say.  I know people who have lived over 50 years with that following them.  Just having been borned in there.

My last note is on this story which bothered me from the very moment I laid my eyes on it.  I hate these type of stories.  I know…I say it every time.

It is about a man…a black man in Alabama who went around as an evangelist or some type of  preacher while being a seriously sick man.  While swirling in the pulpit between words of  praise…he was sodomizing and raping his own children…including fathering children with them…and had killed their mother after she caught him having sex with one of  their very young daughters (age 11)… while the child was pregnant with his child.   Doing all of this after having dumped his dead wife into a deep freezer for the last 4 years…in the trailer where he lived with them…their children while he continued to use them sexually.

While watching a youtube clip on the story…it eluded that the Bible up-holds such things…I’m talking about ‘incest.’  The scripture pointed to in support of  that supposed idea came from the book of  Genesis…Genesis 19:30-39.  Which is an absolute lie.  The Bible does not support any such thing…or anything like it…or any other type of sin.  And it certainly would never support any negative behavior towards children…or anyone.

In fact, that scripture points to the type of  sins which not only Lot witnessed but evidently his daughters did also.   It was one of many reasons which was why God eventually destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah.   Which is what Lot along with his wife, and his 2 daughter were fleeing from in the first place.

Off the road… Wilmington… Aging… Swine Flu… Obama’s first 100 days…

Well, we  are just getting back in from our weekend little road trip.  The weather was beautiful all the way down and back…90’s, baby…and felt like it.

One of my nephews preached his first sermon in his very own church this past Sunday…and we all went down to be with him for his opening ceremony…a monumental Christian event…in a place where I couldbld040600 see he was much needed.  In Wilmington, DE…which is a much bigger place than I ever expected and has a very sizable amount of  black folk.

While there I could not help but marvel at most of the homes…which were mostly made of stone and brick.  They looked very historic…and I remembered that Delaware was an old State that has a very long and rich history due to George Washington having travelled and stayed there.  And I could see that many of those homes dated back to that period in history…and had been well kept up and cared for through their long history…and still are.

But Wilmington reminded me of  Detroit except for one distinct difference…there were no boarded up houses or boarded up businesses there…as far as I could see.   Very much to the contrary was it to the situation in Detroit…in which as I stated in an earlier blogs on Detroit…that  every other building and house was boarded up in Detroit  due to foreclosures, down-sizing and massive  job losses.   Detroit was consumed by boarded up and vacated buildings and homes due to the shutting down of  many of the factory jobs of  its chief industry and job producers…the Big 3…the motor industry.  And it looked every bit of  it.

But contrary to Detroit…it seemed to me that Wilmington’s future was bright…the city that sits back off of  I-95…but not too far off…just far enough off the main North Eastern throughway so you can’t see it.

But who knew that was really back there…down that short stretch of road where the signs lead you over to.

Little has been and is ever said about Wilmington, DE.   But then I remembered as I glanced across and looked at the old beautiful mansions that our Vice President, Joe Biden and his family,  also lives here…in that quiet little place which isn’t really all that little…and certainly not little at all compared to where I come from.  Just 20 minutes South of Philly and not far from Baltimore.  Wilmington really struck me as a great place to invest in…if you could find property to   buy.

It has all the pluses… Wilmington does… including sitting on the banks of the Delaware River...you do remember that great picture they had in your history book of  Washington standing on that boat looking very regal and General-like as he crossed the Delaware.  It is funny the things you will remember years later from when you were a little grade school child sitting in various classes at school…of which none of  it meant anything to you at the time.  You just had to rememorize it because of the test tomorrow…and that was the only reason you placed it somewhere in your memory bank.   Who knew 20-30-40-50-60 years later you would still be able to pull up and access that information stored somewhere in your brain?

This is why education is so important.  Nothing in school ever seemed important to me.  Teachers failed to be able to show the true value of why you should learn something.  For some reason they cannot link anything that you do in school with real living.  And then later in life you find out that it was all relevant to your everyday living.  Like learning how to get up and go to school.   Relevance: Getting up and going to work.   If you never learned how to get up and get out to school on time you will certainly have problems at getting up and getting out to work on time.   Therefore, it is relevant to real everyday living.

(2) Math…this is a big one (well, learning to get up and go to school was big too…)   Relevance: Being able to keep track of your money…count your change…add up your groceries before you get into line…monitor your daily spending and align it with your budget and your pay check etc…   I told you it was big.   But for some reason teachers cannot appropriately inform students of the real value of learning math.  There is not one kid…or child…or teen in school who doesn’t like money…and if  they realized that math had something to do with money there would not be one student failing math.

Well, I guess you can tell that I am really tired from our trip to Delaware the place where George…oh, never mind…I’ve already said it…how he crossed that river and made history right there in that little…well…not so little town.   Yeah…I am real tired.

When we were through in Delaware…my son and I hit Philly.   I could not get so close and not drop by and visit with the true matriarch of our family…my mother’s Aunt Kate.

Having talked often with Aunt Kate…it was not hard for me to tell when I first realized her mind was not jp2006_0003624-1as sharp as usual.  You used to could say a name and she filled in all the blanks.  I loved talking with her…and each time I learned more and more about our family.  Her mother…was my grand-mother’s mother.  She was a woman who had somehow ended up owning a very large portion of  land…and I do mean very large.  It ran along the shores and back a ways off from Lake Okeechobee, the 2nd largest lake in the United States…2nd only to Lake Michigan.

I found this out once during one of our last annual summer trips to Florida…when suddenly my mother began crying saying-

“You see this land it all belonged to my grand-mother.”

I was surprised…as my mother rarely became so emotional over such things…and certainly not out of the blue as she had that day.  As many times as we had passed through that little town and across that bridge heading over to where I was born and where my grand-mother at the time stilled lived…my mother had never before said anything regarding the size or proportion of any of  that land.

That day she told us that as far as we could see and as far back as we had just come…how it had all belonged to our  great grand-mother.  I had not realized until that moment that seeing where this town now absorbed all of what had been our family’s property…nor had I  realized that seeing it as we drove pass it sadden my mother so until that day…as she sobbed loudly over her grand-mother’s property.  She had spoken of  it before but never had I any idea of  the vast amount of property that was involved.

It is from that moment that I started paying more attention to those programs that I saw on PBS about black families going back through city records and trying to regain property which had been stolen away from their families during the mid-40’s through the 50’s…which included very large farm lands…by various people in those towns who simply just re-wrote the deeds to those black people’s property…giving themselves ownership over it without even bothering to purchase the property from any of the black families.

Very little has ever been said about my great grand-mother except for how extremely religious of a woman she was.  But Aunt Kate had began sharing with me more about her.  She told me of her giving nature…and how she had owned a restaurant.   She told me that there had been people during the course of my great grand-mother’s restaurant business who could not afford to pay for the food…but she fed them anyway.  She had even opened up the doors to her home and raised a child or 2 which was not her own…because they had been homeless.

“One little boy,” Aunt Kate said was a friend of one her brothers…whom they had found out that when they thought he would leave to go home…that he was actually sleeping down under their house.

Aunt Kate said, “Well, mother, wasn’t going to let him stay down there.”

She raised him along with her own children.  He became another brother to our Aunt Kate and my grand-mother along with their other siblings.

Back in those days the houses in those areas of Florida were built raised up off the ground and sat upon concrete blocks.   This was how they built all the houses back then down in Florida…raised up off the ground because of flooding.   If the waters came up over the banks of Lake Okeechobee…it was hoped that they would not rise above the height of the concrete blocks.

Because Zora Neale Huston stayed in my great grand-mother’s area once upon a time…in fact, her book “Their Eyes Were Watching God”…takes place in a little town sitting on Lake Okeechobee.  Imagine my great grand-mother being the great land Baroness that she was…and owner of  the black folk’s only restaurant in that town…and just based on how folks lived down there…and still do…I imagine that they…my great grand-mother and Zora Neale Hurston may have known each another.  Nobody lives in any of those little towns without knowing everybody…so much so…that they all become very much like family…caring and knowing everything about everyone and everything about them.

But Aunt Kate now being the last of all her sibling…out of 10 of them…was my source for much family history…which seemed to just pour out of her.  I never had to ask any questions of her or try to coax her into sharing it with me…very unlike my own grand mother…who always seemed suspicious if  you asked anything about  our family history.  Why I do not know…but it was something that I accepted thinking that perhaps there was something which I should not know.

42-15293997But upon seeing Aunt Kate for the first time in years…I was somewhat surprised.  She was much smaller now…though she had never been a big woman as she always kept herself up, as they say…meaning she always kept herself  looking good and in good condition.  But she wasn’t looking so good yesterday…most of her hair had thinned out…and she had this large black…what looked like smut smudge straight across her forehead.  She had on no shoes or slippers on…of which I had never seen her walk  around barefooted before…as Aunt Kate was quite prime and proper.    And her feet were terribly ashy…meaning…well…you can look that one up…as I do not want nor wish to continue talking about my aunt in such a way.

But it was her mind…the thing most recently I had noticed in the last few phone calls we had had…her mind was slipping.   She was not getting lost…but she had started forgetting things…and who such and such was…when she had always been so sharp about such things.

Aunt Kate was now in her 90’s…and though throughout all of these years age had somehow managed to not show up on her…yesterday was different.  She seemed older than her 90 in fact…and she was now walking with a cane.  That strong little woman was now…an aged shadow of  what she had been…and though I smiled and was happy to see and talk with her and my cousins…it was hard for me not to notice the vast difference in our Aunt Kate yesterday…from the Aunt Kate I had last seen just about 3 years ago and throughout all the prior years.

I often think of  the little church mothers in our church…woman who proudly proclaim their ages with bcp018-29such glee…because none of them looks anything near the age that they truly are.  They are strong and fit…able to get onto and off  buses…walk around their blocks…run errands on their own.   There is a distinct difference between them and women who are not in the church.  And it is very recognizable.

Though her mother had been an extremely religious woman…Aunt Kate may have been…and may still be quasi-religious.   Until a few years ago…Atlantic City had become her friend.  She had gotten bitten by that bug…called gambling.   And if someone had not stolen some money from her…she still might be going…as it had become a weekly habit for her.

I really do believe that there is something about being in the church…and living a life separate from the ways of the world that will make a difference in your life…as witnessed by the many mothers who are in various churches around the world.  There is just something about trusting and living your life as God intends you to live it…that will make a difference.

Yes, I am tired…but I am so thankful that God gave me the opportunity yesterday to finally go and visit with my very kind and loving Aunt Kate…through all the years this has never changed about her.  I suspect that it comes from her mother.

There is little wonder that Obama’s approval rating for his first 100 days has been and is high…as he is actively pursuing to achieve exactly what he went into the White House knowing what he had and needed…and said he would do.  Handle the business of the American people…and try to undo and dark mark the Bush Administration had put upon this country.  And thus far…as my father would say…he has been doing  just fine.  But what I really like is the fact that the dynamic duo which we put into the White House are both getting high marks.

I always knew that Michelle was going to show herself to be simply wonderful as both First-Mom, First Lady…friend and confident to the man that sits in the top seat and wears the heavy crown…or in this country…heavy hat…President Barack Obama.

I really like reading all this good press about them.  He was media darling prior to entering the race…media darling after entering the race…and still media darling after having won the race.

I like people who are consistent…don’t you?

Mexico Swine FluAs you know…I do not watch much television.  But often while sitting around in a hotel room…I find little  else to do.  So, this is how I happened to hear about the ‘Swine Flu.” As far as I can tell…it is very much like most of the other flu’s…causing diarrhea, vomiting, fevers, headaches…etc.   But thus far it has killed 81 people in New Mexico…and a series of people…up to 40 cases have been diagnosed here in other parts of the United States.

Could not resist this story…CLICK the LINK BELOW to read it and see the video.

Pastor Bruce Cadle of New Hope Church delivers the first sermon in a three-part It is about a southern preacher who believes that having ‘good sex’…or as this pastor puts it “great sex’…is something which the body of Christ should be preaching about.

I know you do not want to hear my opinion on that…because you probably already know it…if you have read any of these blogs at all with any degree or level of understanding.

But it just goes to prove…just how overboard this whole sexual revolution has become.   And I am not shocked…as it seems to me that there are some in the church…or seemingly of the church…who have great interest in the subject and are doing everything they can to spread that interest.2ab-the-bishop-wifecover

Though, I have to admit that my book, THE BISHOP’S WIFE… certainly touches upon the subject.   It is…I guess important…but not something which should be preached or for that matter…needed to be taught in church…any more than sex education in school.

Speaking about my book, THE BISHOP’S WIFE…between it and counting down the days to when it is ready for sell…launching my website…blogging…and hitting the road to promote my book…and menopause…it is wonder that I am anything but tired.

Now, I think I am going to get some much more needed sleep, thank you.   Being on the road somehow jp2006_0003862drains me these days.  I love it…but it tires me.   I think it throws my whole internal clock off…as I usually am the one driving through the night…and most of the day.  But I love the road, baby.   Ain\’t nothing like it.

So, if you will excuse me…I am going to rest now.   Good-night.

God bless…

Obama picks…. Bush demise… out with old and in with the new…

obama_mashup_270x3411First, people wanted to say the Obama wasn’t qualified enough.  Now, everybody is talking about the people he is bringing on board to help him get this mess straightened out “are old political insiders.”

They really need to decide what they want…either they want experience or they don’t?

Moreover, everybody who has every done anything or worked anywhere knows that ‘changes starts at the top’ and not at the bottom.   In everything in this life there is a hierarchy.

Have you ever worked on a job and a new boss was hired to replace your old boss?

Or a new supervisor had been appointed over you?

Well, if not then you are a very rare bird.  Because practically everyone has experienced this in some shape or form and at one time or another in their life.  When theobama-404_680177c1 old went out and the new came in.   Much like New Year’s…now that I am thinking about it.  Your year today was nothing like your year last year…though all the dates were exactly the same.  The months were in the same place…but some how none of your days were ever the same.  So it is with anything new…the same can even be said for clothes.  Once you’ve worn it one time…it will never feel as crisp or fit quite the same way.

So, it is with new management.  When new management comes in…all the employees can be the exact same but policies change.  What was or is not acceptable changed…what was once tolerated many now not be tolerated.  And what had been allowable may not now be allowable.

It is what new management…new leadership…even ‘new direction’ does.  It brings about a change…and it starts from the person who calls the shots or is instituting the changes…and it triggles downward to those who have to now do as the new boss and/or leader…head…chief…executive etc. says.

abc_obama_clinton_070615_ms1So, what is all the hoopla about President Obama bringing into his presidency some of the Clinton people?

Haven’t they already been there?

Done that?

And have a clue of what now might need to be done?

Many of you said, “Obama lacks experience.”   Now, he gives you experience in terms of his staff you start singing yet another tune.  Every executives seeks out people with experience…people they feel they can put their confidence in.

So, should Obama be any different?

Obama is no fool.  He is highly thought out and he seeks to bring into his folds only the brightest and best…just as he is…and just as any company management does.  So, don’t let the right wing conservatives who sit on your television screens day in and day out lead you to believe that Obama is not going to hold to his promises of bring a new day to politics in Washington, DC.  His campaign showed us the stuff that Obama is made of, and he will continue to made good decisions…his campaign clearly demonstrated that.

We didn’t vote in a dummy.   Not this time around…and I shouldn’t even say “not this time around”….because I didn’t vote for George Bush either times.  And I was angry when more of this country didn’t stand up and cry foul when he stole his way into the White House in the first place following the 2000 Presidential Election.  That never ever should have been allowed.  But my goodness…why go back to the polls 4 years later and then try to legitize that robbery and that lie by voting Bush officially into office in 2004?

The price this country has had to bare because it is almost unspeakble.  the glaring evidence of it cannot be denied.  And certainly it very sad when you consider the innocent lives lost because of it…due that man deciding non-unitarially to start dropping bombs on Iraq.

If you want to wonder why America is in the state that she is in…look at what Americans allowed to happen in 2000.  And then maybe you might come to realize that no good thing can come from evil…and as the old saying goes-

“A thief never prospers.”

Now, turning my attention to something going on on our campus here in town.  I ran into a student to pointed out that I should go on-line to read some of the comments that some of the white students were making about Barack Obama being elected President of the United States.

First of all…what surprised me was the fact that they were openly discussing Obama being killed.  Then came the comments that ‘Biden really was the president’…because Obama was not going to be around long.  Not to mention the typically racist and bias and bigoted statements that some people have historically made about black people.  Such as calling us ‘apes’, ‘monkeys’…and one even stated that ‘the campus a zoo because it had so many black student’ etc…etc…etc..

Needless to say…this did infuriate me.  And I quickly wrote an email notice myself.  First, I informed them that there are 2 things in the United States which are definitely against the law…and that they could go to prison for.  (1) yelling ‘fire’ in a public place, and (2) threating to kill the President of the United, or being found to be conspiring to kill the President of the United States, and being found trying incite others to kill the President of the United States.

Like it or not Barack Obama is the President of the United States of America.  And I will drop a dime on anybody I overhear talking about killing him in any shape or manner…even in joke or as a passing thought.

And I am serious about it…as well as we all should.

I intend to do everything I can to protect Barack Obama and his family, including telling a bunch of racist students that before they speak they should consider the law regarding the person of the President of this country.  After having posted that…for the most part the ignorant comments ceased.

Barack Obama is going to live a long time.  He has no fear over his life being taken…and neither does hisobama2bfamily1 family.

The only people seeking to be empowered by such acts or thoughts are those who seek evil…for the sake of evil.  And with the hopes of instilling fear

Not many people remember who killed Abraham Lincoln…but we all remember Abraham Lincoln.

And as I have already stated in a former blog…I believe that Barrack Obama was predesinated ‘for a time such as this.’  And that is Biblical…and if any of you knows what that means…then you know that Obama’s life is set for him (ordained of God).  And can’t nobody do anything to him or take it from him but God.

28obama-6001Speaking of Obama…the buses are already being reserved for the many thousands who plan on being down in Washington, DC to personally witness the swearing in of Barack Obama as President of the United States on January 20th.  Between Maryland and Virigina there will no hotels anywhere due the mass of people who will be converging in DC on that day.  This will probably be the biggest mass convergence in the world…consider the over 250,000 who gathered in Grant Park on Election Night to hear Obama’s acceptance speech.  Well, double that Barack Obamafigure…maybe even triple it.

They will be in DC, baby.  And they will be flying in from all of the world as well as from all over the USA for this very special moment in American history.

Not to mention that DC is probably now going to replace New York City in popularity among tourists coming to this country.  Because everybody is going to want to get a picture of the White House…be hoping for a glimpse at the new First Family…and possibly shake the President’s hand.  And I definitely intend on being one of them.

Well, God bless…have a good weekend.

It is cold this way though the sun is shining.  I was out earlier this week raking up leaves.  Thank goodness my son came and helped me out.  I didn’t know that raking leaves could be such hard work…and particularly when the wind is blowing.  But it was the first day that the sun had come out and it hadn’t rained.

Think about it…next Thursday is turkey day.  I always look forward to the leftovers.  But it is just amazing how quickly the days are rushing by.  It seems like I just started this week and here I am at Friday.  Everything is whizzing by us.

Whatever your plans may be safe…remember those who are less fortunate.  Even if you have nothing more than simply prayer for them…prayer always goes a very long ways.

DONE DEAL… Obama, baby …all the way.. all hale the President of the United States of America

081104-obama-family-hmed-915prp420x4001Some didn’t think it could or would ever happen.

Some had never dreamed of it…and0bb67ac4-9b4c-4312-8a89-1b925c855509rp600x3501 particularly ‘not in their lifetime.’

But last night’s returns brought an end to all of that.  Hope is very much alive….and as they say in England, “Long live the Queen.”

We now can say, “Long live the king!”

And king he is…in every possible way.

  • King in campaign funds raised
  • King in how his campaign was run.
  • King in getting the youth vote out
  • King in out-performing his opponent
  • King in the ability to articulate his message
  • King in securing the votes needed to put him over the top. thankyou_banner1
  • King in his ability to bring people together
  • King in rallying up his forces
  • King in being able to maintain his cool under the microscope.
  • King in turning some key Red States into Blue States
  • King in being able to secure confidence in people that he could do it.
  • King in capturing the attention of the world
  • King in making the America and world feel that America can once again regain the respect and leadership role she once held among other nations.
  • And king in his willingness to accept that it is not going to be easy but that he had the personality, the skills, the attitude and confidence to get the job done in order to re-establish America…rebuilt her…and secure her.

It’s Obama, baby.

Could this miracle in America have happened without the aid and support of everyday people like you and me…it is very unlikely.  Barrack Obama expressed it well last night when he said, “When I got started, I wasn’t the a51c2d92-e22a-4b96-a75a-20392c485db1rp420x4001most likely candidate.”

But people like you and me who believe that America can do anything…and that she is worth the effort of going out and seeking to make her the best that she can be.  Many times it does mean that we have to come together and overlook our differences so that we might seek good over evil.  Because at the end of the day…we all care about the exact same things…our children and the future direction of this country.

I am elated at the choice we made last night.  It was the right choice and it 081105-longline-hmed-430arp420x4001was a good choice.  And when I woke up this morning after staying up most of the night waiting on the returns from California and the other West Coast states…I woke up feeling relieved and excited about America 70157a46-7083-47f1-8198-807e05b43fefrp600x3501and about the new course she will now be on.  A course of healing and reconciling…mending and re-befriending.

I woke up proud and 96d735a6-fcf9-4e2c-bc42-aa4f476700ccrp600x35011looking forward to the times to come for the United States of America, under President Barrack Obama.  I know I will not be disappointed.

Once again America can hold her head up high as we are at last finally about to come from under the dark cloud of the Bush Administration.

vlcsnap-69179881As you watched and listened to President Obama last night delivering his acceptance speech…you saw in his body language, demeaner and facial expressions that he realized the difficulty of the job that was now ahead.  It won’t be easy.  But for some reason I sense that Barrack Obama would have it no other way.  The challenge is one he recognized from the onset.  And yet…he decided to take it.  I feel assured that he is going to pull America through these times of hardship like Roosevelt did in the 40’s.      http://www.whitehouse.gov/history/presidents/fr32.html

Americans Go To The Polls To Elect The Next U.S. PresidentOne can sense that Obama seeks neither fame nor glory…but that he saw a need and felt that there needed to be someone in the right place to faciliate that need.  And that person should be him…because he genuinely cared about the direction of America.  Not only for himself…but for his children…and also for us all.

America has been hurting for 8 long years…and now we can all breathe a sigh of relief.  A new day has arrived…and it is a done deal.  Barrack Obama is now President of the United States of America.

Yesterday, while casting my ballot for President Elect Barrack Obama, I signed at the botton of my ballot that I was casting my vote in the name of my mother and father, my grandmother and great grandmother.  I only wished they had been here to bare witness to this profound time in American History.  Never in my lifetime had I ever conceived such a thing.
When I got this morning and got going, I felt a little bit taller, and pounds lighter…and there was some definite glide in my stride.
FACTS:   BARRACK OBAMA’S RUN TO THE WHITE HOUSE

The tears last night in Oprah Winfrey’s eyes and Jessie Jackson’s Presidential Candidate Barack Obama is joined by special guest Oprah Winfrey and his wife Michelle Obama during a rally held at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester, New Hampshire on December 9, 2007 in New York Cityeyes spoke volumes.  If you really want to know what this monumental moment in history really means to and for so many  people…then those tears told you the story.  Oprah and Jessie were not the only ones crying.  There were hundred of thousands of others…including me…crying.  There were those who remembered when the only time a black man stood in the middle of a square before crowds of jackson_obama11people in this country…he was standing on the auction block wating to be sold off into slavery.

They also were crying because they 71296-004-0b8cb4971remember the fire hoses and the police dogs which had been unleased upon black people to keep them from marching to demand a right to vote in this country.  A right to enter a department store and civilrightsblog1to be able to walk up the lunch counter and order something to eat without being spat upon then beat and chased out of the store.

Let the games begin… THE ELECTIONS 2008

There is no doubt that the Republican Party has a real problem.  That problem really became evident during the fight that ensued following the Presidential Elections 2000.  Their problem is…they don’t know how to play fair.

The Republican Party is full of a bunch of cheats who don’t mind using a series of underhanded tricks to get their candidates in office.  And their games are just beginning.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/27508967?GT1=43001

There is no doubt that tomorrow will be mared with lots of little maneuvers devised to keep certain voters from showing up at polling locations around America, and/or to give them a hard and fustrating time tomorrow at the polls.

During the 2004 Elections between George Bush and John Kerry, in Ohio it was broken balloting booths which kept vast numbers of black voters standing in the rain for hours trying to wait on their turn to cast their vote.  Only to find that when they finally got inside the women were asked to leave their pocketbooks outside.

What kind of nonsense was that?

Yesterday while watching the political spin pundits on the various Sunday programs…it was stated that letters had gone out in various states informing people that the election was not going to be held on Tuesday, tomorrow…but on Wednesday instead.

Now, in Philly the black community is being hit with flyers telling them they will be arrested at the polling locations for having an unpaid parking ticket.

When I have gone to vote a couple of times…I have been told that I couldn’t because my name was not on the list.  Only to find out later that my name had been removed for a censuses form that was not returned.

These are the games they play.  And they are devised to created as many hangups, confusion and as much fustration to certain voters as they can…in order to have them turn around and leave without casting their vote.

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out who would be trying to keep the number of voters low on tomorrow.  I’ll give you one guess.

Okay, then let me say it like this.

Who would reap the most from such underhanded political pranks?

One thing is for such it is not the Obama campaign.

Yes, it is those underhanded, lying, cheating and cakniving thieves…known as the Republican Party.

Do yourself a favor and just drop by your voter registration office today and ensure that all your information is up to date.  It just may save you the headache of having to deal with some unexpected problems tomorrow.

It’s not fair…but sometimes you just got to learn how to out smart the crooks.

I’ll be looking for you tomorrow at the polling places from state to state.

Disappearing President…George W. Bush… hard act to follow… OBAMA!

Ever since George Bush and the rest of the Republican Party forced their way into the White House by having virtually rigged the 2000 Presidential Election everyone in this country should have realized that we were going to be in for a rude awakening…and a long bumpy ride.

The most you can say about Bill Clinton was that he did his best to keep them out for as long as he could…but those rebellious little Republicans were on a roll and they were not going to let a little thing like Bill Clinton blocking the front door to the White House in order to wait on a final count of the Florida ballots and a Superior Court decision on the matter keep them out of the White House.  Oh, no….

For a man who stole his way into the White House in 2000 and then sat in the Oval Office doing everything a single person could possibly do to sabotage this country there is little wonder today why the Republican Party has ended up in the state it has finally fell to.  And has well deserved to.

Somewhere while growing up…or maybe while sitting in church, I heard it said several times, “That a thief cannot prosper.”

With Presidential Performance ratings the closest in history of any President of the United States, it would be safe to say that neither George W. Bush nor this country has prospered in the past 8 years.  In fact, since Bush went into the White House a millionaire, having to be able the reaped the benefit of coming from a wealthy oil family…and then not to mention his $400,000 annual salary per year as President of the United States, a rate that went up, doubled in fact, upon his entering into the White House over Bill Clinton’s measly $200,000.  The salary $200,000 was that of every U.S. President since 1969.

It is safe to say that Bush probably won’t be starving upon his departure from the White House this year, as he also receives a pension of over $100,000 per year.  But we cannot say the same about millions and millions of Americans whom his policies have financially devastated, personally injured and yes…many have died…all because of him.

Under the Bush Administration foreclosure swept this country like wildfire, banks crashed, financial institutions had to be bailed out and government spending went through the roof putting this country into receivership. Instead of being the country that lent money to other countries, we became the country that started begging for money from other countries.

We are now billions upon billions of dollars indebt to countries which used to seek out aid from us.  And some of those countries are Communists countries…like China for one.  Not to mention the overall financial disasters…diving stock markets, raging gas prices, high food and other consumer costs…that one would not have to argue were the direct ’cause and effect’ of 8 years of the Bush Administration’s poor ability to run this country properly.

There is little wonder that Bush was so invisible at the Republican Nomination Convention this past August.  And he has been the invisible man throughout the entire McCain campaign.

There had been a time in history when  had been considered the worst President in American History.  Now, Truman a man whom many thought was probably his own worst enemy…well, he can now rest in peace.  He has been topped by George W. Bush…who never got around to dropping an atomic bomb…perhaps it wasn’t for a lack of trying.

Neither Harry Truman or Bush were good on economy, both were hawkish in their attitudes and an inability to manage the economy well.  But also there seemed to be a careless nature about them.  This is a character flaw that a President of any country simply cannot have.  It is just too costly.  And costly it was back in Truman’s time and has been now on us all.

It has in fact been so costly that even the Republican Party has spent much of this election season trying to distant itself from the shadow of a George W. Bush.  He has been the invisible man…the Invisible President.

With a disapproval rating of more than 70% would you have him out campaigning for you?

Or would want to be caught shaking his hand if you were trying to maintain your seat in Congress, the Senate or the House of Representatives?

I don’t think so.

But let this be a lesson for those of you who believe you can get it by cheating or stealing your way there…wherever your “there” is.

“A thief never prospers.”

The unfortunate part…is neither did we who allowed George Bush to rob his way into the White House in the first place…and then to be voted in the second place.  As sad as it may be…we are all paying for it now.

Lets get out and vote CHANGE on Tuesday.  And let put a legitimate candidate into the White House…not someone who is heir apparent.  But the best possible choice for this country and all that she means to each and every one of us.  And all that she means for us and for our children, nieces, nephews etc…and for years to come.

There have been one too many black spots on this nation’s history.  Now, is the time to put this country on a new course and to seek to undo some of the harm that the Bush Administration has caused in this country and throughout all the world.

I’ll be looking for you at the polling places from state to state.

Obama’s half hour…

Maybe you’ve been like me and do not have enough time to watch television.  Due to my classes and other things I rarely watch TV any more.

So, I therefore never knew when Obama’s program was going to be broadcasted. But  today I decided to Google for the date only to find out that it had all ready aired.

Well, if you were just  like me and missed it…here it is.  Just CLICK on the LINK below.

I don’t know if I think infomercials work.  But if it gives you a chance for people to better understand who you are…and what you are concerned with as it lines up with the concerns of others…then perhaps it does work.  It’s Saturday…and Tuesday is quickly rolling around. We cannot afford to make a mistake.

I was invited to lunch today. A Chinese student wanted to treat me because we do this exchange thing. She aids me with my Chinese and I aid her with learning English.

Since I took the time this past week to aid her with her oral presentation she wanted to show me her appreciation by treating me to lunch. S o, we met this afternoon. Somehow we landed on the subject of the Electionsand I asked her who was she going to vote for. She informed me that she could not vote because she is not a citizen.  She was also not familiar with who either Obama or McCain were.

But she said, “I know Bush. He like to fight. That not good.”

And I agreed.

A lot of what is wrong with America today came about as soon as Bush first entered the White House…and in particular as soon as he decided to start dropping bombs on Iraq. That one act caused the gas prices to soar like we have never seen in this country.

That one act also caused everything else to also soar right along with the gas prices… the costs of food, utilities, clothing costs, traveling costs etc. We can’t afford to have anyone else sitting in the White House who does not consider what his or her actions will do to the average family or person in America.

That war is killing us all…one way or another. We have and are all suffering because of one foolish move which most people in this country and others aboard were all against from the very start… including Barrack Obama who voted against it.

VOTE Tuesday…and let’s make a real change in the direction of this country. Everyday people count too…and we have voices too. And our voices are in the power of our votes.

I loved the video of  Barrack dancing…though one of the girls in my class said she found it offensive.  Whereas she saw it as Obama being a joke…I saw it as Obama proving that he too has a sense of humor. And that he also is not afraid to show his human side.

If you want to see Obama dancing just stroll down to the bottom of this blog.

The thing about John Edwards that really bothered me…was that I believed he was for real.  To see him in that video talking about people, and seeing him as ‘Ken’ of the Ken & Barbie Dolls… none of us even had a clue as  to who he really was.

We all thought he was some sweet doting father and loving husband.  Edwards was a clear disappointment and gladly he has now dropped way off the radar screen.

What a con man.

That is not to say that we don’t all make mistakes.  But his was more than a little mistake… it was out and out deception.  And he did it knowingly and without any remorse or fear of being caught.

Indeed, Edwards was a master at his craft.  He was a real politician… who mostly all come out of the legal profession…lawyers, just like Edwards.  And I hate to classify them all as this… but I have found most of them… lawyers to be a bunch of liars.

And someone will say, “So, doesn’t Obama.”

Yes, Obama does.  He came out of Harvard being a lawyer.  But thank goodness some people are not crooks, deceptive or liars…nor a bunch of thieves.  I am oh so thankful that there still is some degree of morality among us…a remnant.   It  certainly beats none at all… such as the atmosphere of Bush and those around them.

Nor do I see Obama trying to pretend to be anything or anybody other than who he is.   We have seen that every time we have seen him. He remembers his roots, his family ties, the lessons taught him, the struggles he has had…and though he has risen to levels you and I may never get to…he has not forgotten.

He doesn’t try to recreate himself based upon other people’s opinion of what is or is not right. And I like how he goes with what he feels is right.

How can you argue against that?

Get out and vote Tuesday.

I have to admit that since writing this blog I have been listening to the entire half hour segment by the Obama campaign…and you know what?

“It does work.”

It was money well spent.

Now CLICK TO SEE BARRACK DANCING on Ellen…and Michelle.

Joe…Joe …please, Joe don’t…

I may be a bit old school but one thing I know for sure…when you step up you’ve got to act and talk like you have stepped up.

I understand that Joe Biden is Joe Biden…but he is now in a whole new ball game.  And frankly, what was okay yesterday is not okay today.

He is well on his way to becoming the Vice President of the United States of America…and it is not a position where one’s tongue can be flippant or quick.  Every thought and  utterence must be weighted and considered first.  It really just goes with the turf.  When you sit high you can’t do what other people do…or say what other people say…or how they say it.

You must always be guarded.

You must measure everything.

This past gaff on the part of Joseph Biden was not a test of the Obama Presidency…but one of Joe Biden.

The one thing that Americans and others around the world can be sure of…that is that Barrack Obama is not a careless person.  He is highly measured…and very well so.

The job of President of the United States of America requires such a person…because every group, every cause and every country is looking for some slip up to leap upon.  So, therefore Presidents have to exercise extreme levels of caution…as well as those around them…when they speak.

This goes for Vice Presidents as well.  Contary to whatever Sarah Palin may or may not have believed…or even John McCain in regards to the importance of the position of Vice President of the United States.  Vice Presidents whether they work on the corporate level or in the White House all have to have a quality of discretion and precaution when they speak.

Joseph Biden has to learn he is now playing in a whole other league now…it’s not high school…and it is certainly not the Senate House of Rep’s either, it will be as Vice President of the United States.

This is a much higher and bigger league, Joe…with far more at stake and certainly higher stakes.  So, come on and step up to the challenge and cast aside the ol’ Joe Biden…the one with the quick tongue and no forethought.

Don’t mess it up, Joe…by trying to play politics.  You are not a prophet.  Everybody knows it won’t be ‘peaches and cream’…and that trouble is always looming…and it will come.  There is no reason to think otherwise…that is rooted in history.

That is why we all seek to put the best people in the right places to handle things…who are competent.   It is for this reason that we seek people of high caliber, who have good sense and reasoning skills, as well as the capability to show grace in every possible situation.

We are still praying for the Hudson family….after all that has been done that Jennifer Hudson’s nephew is at least returned home unharm.

Be encouraged and have a beautiful day.

We’ve got one more week to go…and I am looking forward to next Tuesday night.  I plan on sitting up all night and watching as many channels as I can as tears will surely be rolling down my cheeks as Barrack Obama becomes this country’s 44th President.   It is truly time for a change.

Please be sure to share this blog site with all your friends…family…just….just….everyone!

Have a beautiful day…and thank you for reading.
