OBAMACARE HERE TO STAY… SHUT-DOWN AND CRUZ JUST ANOTHER PASSING MOMENT…
In the past few weeks we have celebrated the 50th Anniversary of the March on 
Washington, 9/11 and who knows maybe the first time that America 
government will actually come to a complete halt… per the calamity of having the wrong people in office.

The Republican Party makes their boast of their history but 
in recent past history and by present deeds they leave much to be desired. Many of them are so busy trying to align themselves for a possible Presidential bid that they will do anything to get their name and face out there… even if it makes them look and sound like a fool.
Now, having said that… along comes this guy called Senator Ted Cruz, of Texas… talking big and making 
waves, just as his recent past counter-parts had, namely people like Paul Ryan, Sarah Palin, Michelle Bachmann etc…etc… and that list goes on and on.
What the Palin, Bachmann, Ryan and Cruz’s and multiple others…. of those wanna-be’s have in common is a deep burning desire, that binges on lunacy to the point of self-destruct… because all they have in mind is… I just wanna be President of the United States… or I just want everybody to know my name, and hence, receive some level of power or pull to sit on top of some big Capitol Hill committee. So, they will obstruct… try to
undermine… destroy… disrupt… and yes, even threaten to bring to a halt everything on Capitol Hill and around the country… while they have a temper tantrum attempting to do it… or read children’s story books for hours while trying to hold up the workds (i.e. Cruz)… or do whatever their ‘it’ is.
Where do these people come from?
Well, they were birth out of a joke many of them… this group of extremist Republicans. A joke called the ‘Tea Party.’ They see themselves as self-made patriots… savers of America… slayers of the big government… and the restorers of our American way and values. When in reality America is the last 
thing that they have on their minds.
In essence they are just a bunch of wanna-be’s… spoiled brats who somebody… or maybe nobody… birth something in them that they could be the next Commander in Chief… President of the United States of America… el honcho grande. Yes, that is how they see themselves… when in essence the real fact of the matter is… is that they are all a bunch of big time losers… with no more brains than a bag of rotten potatoes.
Or is that tomatoes?
I get so tired of these guys… and gals… who want to undermine Obama and everything that 
Obama attempts to do… by taking aim at our government itself… to destroy it just in order to show Obama up. They care about nothing but their supposed end game… get Obama… make Obama look bad… block Obama… attack Obama… etc… etc…
The problem here is that they are too dumb to realize that Obama is really smarter than they are. Because you see they really do not see Obama as being smart at all… but just as somebody who got into the White House on a lark. Hence, Romney’s inability to recover 
from his stunning defeat following the announcement that he had lost the 2012 Presidential race to Obama. They, Romney and his crew… were soooooo sure that President Obama would not make it back into the White House for a second term, that Romney had not even prepared a concession speech. Now, that should tell you that these people, those against Obama… that they don’t see the world as it really it… but only as small as their very small little circles are.
Oh, sure they have money. Some even have clout and lots of it… but they lack anything substantial upstairs. They have no brains… but a whole lot of hot air. And they operate only and solely upon their own selfish desires and highly inflated ambitions.
So, we sit here for the 3rd or 4th time awaiting a threat by the Republican Party to shut 
down the American government.
Why?
Because they hate Obamacare. No, it is more like they hate Obama.
Did not Obamacare pass the Senate?
Yes, it did.
What is Obamacare… THE AFFORDABLE HEALTH CARE PLAN… for THE PATIENT PROTECTION AND AFFORDABLE HEALTH CARE of everyone who really needs it. If Obamacare is for the protection of patients rights… from being over billed… from being forced out of hospitals when their medical plans run out… or for medical plans failing to cover various health issues or limiting health care to patients… should not a bill been put into place to help those who fall under the mercy of these huge
and powerful, and often times mercilessness medical insurers?
So, why would anyone be against it?
Because… and this answer is simple. Because it was Obama who did it. It was Obama who got it through the Congress and Senate… who turned the bill into law. And then they… the Republicans began to call the Bill, Obamacare… and that is their real other issue. It bares his name… they name they began calling it just as a means of irking Obama. Oh, my…
Far be it that this medical plan should have to go through the hallow halls of history with the name of the President who did it… Barack Obama
. It is the first Bill ever passed that has ever bared a name of any President who signed it into legislation. And it is is not that it really bares Obama’s name… not technically… but as a ruthless joke that has turned on them.
Wherever, speaking about the Bill the Republicans began referring to it as Obamacare. It was all meant to be poke at President Obama concerning something they vowed never to pass. But it did pass… and the name of the Bill has stuck with it… as an initiative on the part of the President to bring affordable and caring medical care back into America.
Well, what would be wrong with that?
First of all he’s black… or dare I say it… African American. Second, he’s the first black man to ever rise to such a position… a position as President of the United States, that many Republicans have come to consider as an easily achievable fete that anyone can now ascertain… based upon Obama having done it. So, you see all these non-achievers stepping forward saying ‘I’m running for President.’ People who have no more desire to help or aid America or us, her people… the people who live here… than the man on the moon. They only desire the title of President and Commander and Chief… and whatever that may bring to them. They are a bunch of people willing to jump on the band wagon merely for the glory of it… and take that ride for a far as it brings them.
The thing they fail to see is that Obama cares. He truly does. Barack Obama did not run for President of the United States merely for a title… or because he sought a position for fame and glory… but because he felt that our government was in trouble… which it was and still is… and that it needed someone who really cared about her people. Hence, Obamacare 1 of the first steps in his initiative to revive America was birth. But the Republicans are attempting to do anything and everything they can to wipe it away and any remembrance of it before it even goes into effect. The ironic thing about it… it was them who gave that Bill Obama’s name. And now that that that name has took… they want to do everything they can to un-do it… such an important Bill and it should bare a name that has stuck to it?
Everyone knows the Bill now as Obamacare because that is the name the Republicans gave it. So, now the Republican rant and rave about the Bill… it cost to much… it hurts small businesses… it… it… it… it… like they, the Republicans… really care.

But Obama won’t be bullied. So, shut it down… shut down the government, you Republicans. You big… you bad… you do it. But as you can see Obama is not backing up. Cruz like Palin and everybody else who 
has come up against him… or attempted to come up against President Obama… soon always find themselves fading away. All the detractors and nay-Sayers… they soon fade away.
But it appears that every 15 minutes or so up pops a new 1… some new Republican thinking he or she can take on our President. Trying to take President Barack Obama on is not nor has proven to be as easy for none of them… and certainly not as easy as they may have thought from the day Obama walked into office. And in the end… and there is always an end… theirs and not Obama’s. For they have all soon faded far far away off the radar… one right after another… gone. Now, that should tell them something.
It is the cost of being too big for one’s pants… or better said… not knowing what size pants you really wear. They have no idea of what it is to be respectful, when respect is due… and respect is something that always been allotted to all our other Presidents. But for some reason they feel Obama does not deserve any. But we are still, after all, talking about the highest position in our government and the person sitting in that position… the President of this country… whether he be a black man or white… or Indian chief. Obama deserves respect. 
And no matter what they… those Republicans may think about him or say… he has not proven to be too shabby either… not shabby at all.
Being aduls we all sooner or later come to the realization that it is okay to disagree… but one does not have to be nasty or bitter in their disagreement. Nor demeaning or out and out arrogant… something which many in the Republican Party have no understanding of. Guess they have not fully grown up… and against their recent actions certainly prove that. They are so blinded by hate of President Obama that common courtesy …forget respect… fully and completely fails them. And it fails them badly… to their own demise. And this they continue to be trampled upon by Obama at every turn… because they can’t see how their own actions hurt them more than anything Obama can say or do to them.
I say… let us rally behind our President.
Why?
Because Obama is on our side. It is really hard to believe that today hospitals kick people out because they run out of money.., or refuse to service you if your medical plan doesn’t cover a certain thing. I 
remember when the medical business was about saving people’s lives and aiding in keeping them healthy and well… and never turning a back on them. Obama remembers those days too… before it all became about big business and the bottom line… and making more money and more money. Health and wellness should never be about that… otherwise it fails to do or serve its primary function, and that is to help sick and/or ailing people to be well.
Well, God bless… well, it is Friday and it has looked like rain all day. Burst of sun here and there… but I am surprise it has not rained yet, based upon how dark it has been. It has turned a bit cool too. I put on the heat because inside it is a lot cooler than outside. And these old bones can’t take it… and have never been good at taking cold. Well, hope you stay warm and enjoy your weekend.
UPDATE: Thursday, October 2, 2013…. today is the 2nd day of the shutdown and no body is laughing. Thousands have been laid off from their jobs… without pay and no idea as to when the 
Republican will grow up and throw in the towel. But if they throw in the towel now… well, better now than later. But if they throw in the towel now that they have managed to bring our government to a stretching halt they will look like the buffoons they truly are.
But, my goodness, to want to take down the whole government with you while you act like an idiot… really should be an issue addressed around this country during the next few elections. VOTE REPUBLICANS OUT!
They are truly bad for this country… and so anti-American.
I don’t blame President Obama for scratching his head… and wondering ‘How could they be so dumb and selfish?’
Continue to stand your ground, Mr. President. And let know and see once and for all who they really dealing with.

THE VERIZON ATTITUDE… changes in the workplace…
I can’t imagine working for anyone who threatened me.
In reading a posting on my facebook page, I read where the daughter of 1 of my facebook friends was told by her employer during Hurrican Irene-
“If any of you leaves, you’re fired.”
Meaning that if any of the employees left the job they would be terminated.
I can’t imagine me wanting to work for anyone who would even consider trying to strong-arm me like that… and particularly in a state of emergency. But it made me think of 9/ll.
On September 11th …on the day that the airplanes flew into the World Trade Center, after the first plane hit the first tower …many of the workers in the second tower were told to remain seated, to continue working.
But friends of mine who were inside the 2nd tower of the World Trade Center that day… told me that when they saw that first plane hit… they didn’t care what their supervisors said… they were getting out of there. And because many people 
had already began evacuating that second tower, as soon as they saw what had happened to the first tower… it for many meant the difference between life and death.
A few days ago while driving down to Atlanta, I happened to catch a news story on 1010 WINS …an all news radio network in New York City. I had seen the picketers standing before various Verizon locations. But I did not know what was going on.

It seems that the contract for 45,000 Verizon workers had expired… meaning the Verzion worker’s contract is 
now up for renegotiation. Playing hardball, Verizon withdrew their worker’s health plan when the workers went out on strike. Verzion claim that they could no longer afford to pay for the worker’s health coverage because they were losing so much money with them being out on strike.
BALONEY.
Everybody who is doing any business with Verizon should cancel every service …or whatever have you with them.
What money is Verizon losing?
None. In fact, with the workers out… they are saving money. Because Verizon doesn’t have to pay them while they are out on strike.
But the problem we face today is this… IT IS AN EMPLOYER’S MARKET.
Do you hear me?
Can you understand that?
It is like how they say it is a buyer’s market in terms of real estate sales. Because not many people are buying homes …and banks are not lending as much as they used to. So, if you got money …and it doesn’t matter about what the seller is asking 
for …make them an offer. They may just take it… you never know. Because they are not getting many other offers these days. And who knows… your’s might be their only offer.
And you see this clear across the board. Car sales and other large ticket items… because there is less cash flow these days with so many people out of work.
And therein lays the Verizon workers dilemma.Verizon is having its way with the Verizon worker’s union 
because so many people are out of work… and Verizon knows that it has the power to wheel and deal as it pleases because of the way the job market is today.
These companies have no employee loyalty. In fact, most companies today could care less about their employees. This is why most companies today do not even offer full-time employment anymore. Who needs full-time employees when there are millions of people willing… able …and ready to acce
pt part-time employment with no benefits, and wages that amount to little… but beats nothing.
There had been a time when America was sending top executives to China to learn techniques of how to create a happy and more productive working enviroment. It would seem that those executives learned something much more valuable to them. How to take an iron fist and hold it over the heads of your employees… and keep it there. Forcing them to produce more for less… while compensating them little… and forcing them to smile while the company break their backs.
I dislike companies with the Verzion attitude. My cell phone is a Sprint account… but my broadband was with Verizon. I can’t tell you how happy I am that it is off … and has been so for some time now. But I can’t see 
myself giving money to a company that will not do its employees right.
Though these companies may feel that they have the power… the truth of the matter is… no they don’t. We do. 
And our power can bring any company to its knees just as the Montgomery bus boycotts brought that city of Montgomery to its knees in the mid 1960’s, and gave way to the opening of the doors that gave us all the right to vote, sleep and eat … etc… etc… where we wanted to. Today we get on the highway and travel anywhere we want… as African American people in America… eat where we want to eat… and book a hotel and sleep where we want to sleep. But for years this was not the case at all.
I remember listening to Shirley Caesar talking about that very subject on a television show that she was being interviewed on. She said that back then when they travelled… talking about her days as a young singer travelling with Albertina Walker and the Caravan… back in latter 50’s through the 60’s. She said-
“We had to sleep in our car. Because back then they did not allow us (black folks) to stay in the hotels or the motels like they do today. And we just couldn’t pull up anywhere and eat either. Because it wasn’t allowed. If we 
wanted food. 
We had to go back around to the back the door and see if they would give us some food.”
Thank God for powerful people… who knew that they possessed power. Or we would still be sitting on the back of the bus today.
Union busting is not anything new. One of the greatest examples of it is when Ronald Reagon decided to interfere in the air traffic controller strike, PATCO …in August 1981. Reagon 
froze the air traffic controller’s $3.5 million strike fund in order to force the striking workers back to work… saying that they were in violation.

And if you remember any facts to this story… you will remember how quickly many of the striking air traffic 
controllers were replaced. While a the powers to be… then trained a bunch of unprofessionals to replace to them.
And our air ways have never been the same. They have found people sleeping and all kinds of crazy things. And we will not discuss what took place on 9/11.
Because if the truth be told… that is still a mystery to me?
How is it that at least 3 airplanes took off from Logan Airport in Boston… and got so far off of their courses. And nobody …not 1 person knew about it until very important buildings began to be flown into?
Something is wrong with that picture. And for the life of me… how was it that the 2nd airplane was allowed to hit the 2nd tower of the World Trade Center? This is even a bigger mystery to me?
Because before it did… every airplane and helicopter in New York City was up in the air that day soon after 
the 1st airplane had flown in the World Trade Center. So then, how is it that nobody saw the 2nd airplane until after it hit the 2nd tower of the World Trade Center?
My niece woke me that morning with a phone call saying that an airplane had just flown into 1 of the towers of the World Trade Center. And as she was still talking to me… some 20 minutes later the 2nd airplane flew into 
the 2nd tower of the World Trade Center.
How could that have happened?
After the 1st airplane into that air space… clearly, a 2nd air craft entering into that same air space should never have happened.
First of all, the air space around the whole area of the World Trade Center and Statue of Liberty was and is…a protected air space. Which means it was supposed to be under the protection of fighter jets anyhow. But notwithstanding the admission of the 1st air craft into that air space… clearly, a 2nd air craft entering into that same air space should have most definitely been shot down…and shot down 
long before coming in contact with the 2nd tower of the World Trade Center.
But going back to the then President Reagon who decided that he needed to step in on the striking air traffic controllers… and teach them a lesson. Reagon, of course, being the idol of ever Republican… the 1 that they most try to exemplify, and proclaim themselves to be the most like. And I wonder if that was before or after he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s?
But then of course… nobody knows exactly how long Reagon had actually been losing it. Though I must say that most of the Republican Party seems to be fit candidates for an Alzheimer’s examination. Because truly most of them seem to be suffering from some sort of mental deficiency… starting with but not limited to Palin.
Something has to be wrong …mentally with a bunch of people who claim that they love something and seek so vigilantly to destroy it. And I am talking about America.
They claim that they love America. Yet everything they have been doing lately… and I am talking … for years now… has been done to undermine America… if not to utterly destroy it.
One of the most disastrous things to happen to the United States of America was something called George W. Bush. I understand how wars were used in past American History to re-jump start the economy. But George who was 
supposedly an economy major from that great learning institution known as Yale University, in New Haven, CT. George having gotten into hot water somehow either on his own… or via the un-wise thinking of some of his flunkies…they came up with a plan. The plan was to go to war. Start some wars and the economy will take off again… the money you spent will be forgotten… and forgiven… and all will be well.
But there was a problem with the plan. The work place had changed.
In years past America had plenty of factories and factory workers. But by the time George stole his way into the White House all those jobs were gone. Those factories had been closed… and years later turned into lovely condominiums. And if the companies still exists those jobs didn’t… robots had moved in and replaced the workers.
Do you remember when you used to read the Help Wanted Ads and saw a train of Bank Teller jobs being offered?
Look for that now. You won’t find it. Because many of those jobs no longer exist. Bank tellers have been replaced by atm machines.
The same has happened to a position called ‘receptionist.’ When was the last time you heard that word?
It is voice mail… and automated voice activated systems now. No more receptionist jobs almost anywhere today.
Most utility companies have closed down their offices which used to handle bill paying services. They don’t do that any more. Oh, no… If you can’t send it in by mail… or go to a local payment center at your check cashing center …or corner store… then for a charge call them and they will take your payment over the phone.
In 2008 Americans voted for a change. While Republicans are 
quick to say that Obama did not… or has not delivered.
Yet on the other hand Republicans will never say-
“And we have done everything within our power to ensure it.”
On every issue… and non-issue Republicans have done their best to block Obama from even trying to do anything to fix the mess. A massive and highly expensive and burdensome mess… that George W. Bush… a Republican …whom I believe will never ever be forgotten… for the mess that he left us all in. And when President Obama has managed to get something pass them… they … the Republicans attack it like a bunch o
f mad dogs.
Whoever said that Barack Obama was a magician?
Whoever said Obama was Merlin?
Or even had some kind of ‘black magic?’
In case you did think that let me be the first to just say-
“Are you for real?”
Magic is an illusion. It is based upon trickery… cunning and deceit. Thank goodness these are not traits that are found within our President Barack Obama.
President Barack Obama has never lied to us about ‘weapons of mass destruction.’
He has never tried to pull the wool over our eyes… by blinding us with a bunch of codes that meant absolutely nothing… code RED… code YELLOW… (if you have no understanding of this then you would have had to have lived in New York City following 9/11).
Obama has never tried to used 1 fear tactic to keep us up under our beds… or hid in our closets.
President Barack Obama is not the cause for why America is where America is today. He had nothing at all do do with it. He did not bring us here. In fact, as quiet as it is kept… he is trying to fix this mess. It is more than possible that he might aid in bringing us a long ways out of this runt… if we all stop listening to lies. Stop being deceived… and turning every which way the winds blows.
It is Republican deceit and lies that have turned this country upside down… and not Barack Obama.
- Corporate greed and mis-handling of business was here long before Barack Obama walked into the White House
- Job losses many years before Obama
- National Debt was already there… but really began running away after George W. Bush stepped into the Presidential picture
- Problems on Wall Street with the stock market are not new… trace them back into the 1930’s
Several States now have had to fight against Republican Governors who lead people into believing that they were either the man or woman for the job… and would wholly work for them… the voters. Telling them that they were a person with their interests in their mind and in heart… only for those voters to lament a vote that they ever casted in that person’s favor. It ended up costing voters benefits… or their job… or a less powerful union etc. Because that Republican political had an agenda. And that agenda had nothing to do with the people’s minds… or hearts that they con into believing in them with their claims of ‘I want to serve you.’
The Republicans are so slimy they have created a 2nd Republican Party… the co-called Tea Party a group of real lunatics… formed by that lunatic queen Palin and few other crazies. All of whom who have fallen out with one another… that is how firmly rooted they were. Like a bunch of crabs in a barrel… all clamouring to be the top dog… and if they can’t then they pick up their marbles and go home.
They have all… whether they call themselves ‘Tea Party’ or not… they …the Republicans have all developed a seek and destroy attitude. And that attitude did not just get started when President Barack Obama stepped into the White House… it is an attitude that they have long adapted to.
You need only to look at the 2000 Presidential Election between George W. Bush and John Kerry to see how demented the Republicans are. They saw nothing 
wrong …NOTHING…in undermining the entire American practice of our right to vote… and to have ALL our votes counted. And it was not something that they were not bold enough to do so all could see… and dared any of us to do anything about it.
So, don’t blame Obama. This mess is not his. But he decide to champion the cause… to try to set America back on the right course. To raise Her from low depths She sank to under what no one can call ‘leadership’… but just say… George Bush brought Her to.
Don’t look for magic. Look at it as it really is. The world has changed. And the work place and work force has changed with it.
Many jobs that people used to do… no longer exist.
Re-training people has it place… I guess. But when they are re-trained where will they go?
Everyone is learning computers… but there are only but so many computer jobs.
The medical field is good. In a field that had nothing but female mostly… had seen a great emergence of male. Use to be you never saw a male nurse… but today hospitals are loaded with them. Men are entering the nursing field in very large numbers. And to think there was a time that such a thing… would have been seen as being sissy.
One thing is for sure… no matter what happens in this world… we all at some 
point or other need something medical. As long as we are in these bodies the need for the medical profession cannot …or will ever be replaced. But that is not to say that it too… will not evolve. It has.
However, technology is forever changing things. But even so there will still only be a need for but so many people to work in the medical field too… at any given time.
Radio stations have changed… television stations have changed. Most newspaper companies have gone out of 
business… because few people read newspapers any more. They get their news now over the internet… on their ipads… and cells. And if you haven’t noticed… most news companies have cut back drastically on their staff.
For 1 of my journalism classes, my professor… a great woman… had been booted out of her position as a staff writer for a local newspaper… a job she had had for many years. That company’s lost was of course … my great gain. Because she came with a wealth of knowledge, and understanding about the history and future of journalism… and media at large.
But if you have noticed over the internet all the news sources seem to buy their stories from 1 source. You can read the exact same story… word for word from 1 internet source to another. And if you are like me… you always have a need to want to know more… but they don’t have it to give.
And somewhere along the way… they grab ahold of this attitude: THAT LESS IS MORE.
Yeah, right… When I want to know less…or read less… I will just stop. I don’t need anyone deciding for me… when I have had enough.
Which I guess is the main reason why so many people like my blog… www.bsmith101.wordpress.com. For as you can tell… I do not believe in the ‘less is more’ concept. Nor do I just regenerate news items. What a waste that is. If I follow a story… I want to read something I haven’t already read… or at the very least …give me 
some more details …or info on whatever it is I’ve come to your website searching for.
But going back to my thought… the workplace has changed. It is not what it was 20 years ago… or even 10 years ago.
Remember all those customer service jobs that used to be in the newspapers?
Roughly about 20 years ago customer service became such a big thing. There were tons of ad campaigns about the type of service you could expect if you did business with such and such. Companies trained their employees to greet you in a special way, and to service you as quickly and efficiently as they could.
Today all of that is gone to the wind. You can stand in a line for up to 10 or 20 minutes listening 
to someone… who is working the only open window… or check-out line… carry on a conversation with another employee or either with the person who had been right ahead of before they got to the cashier.
Have you experienced that?
You are at the top of the line… but suddenly the ‘ONLY’ open window has a highly talkative employee… or someone looking around as though they are trying to wonder why ‘their’ window or ‘their’ counter is the only 1 open?
So, what do they do?
They slow down… as if mentally they have taken a mental stand in their mind… to not kill themselves trying to serve all the people who waiting in line.
No body cares about customer service any more. And so… gone are these jobs.
Switchboard operators are a thing of the past too. A little company in your area that hired local people… mostly women to man the phone lines. But then it was for mostly doctor’s offices. Today those people can be 
anywhere in the world taking tons of calls for everything from subscriptions to publications, orders for books or other products, complaints, messages, prayer requests …you name it. But small companies in your town probably do not offer this service any more because it has been farmed out around the world.
Most of the manufacturing companies long departed …going into Mexico and other countries where the labor was cheaper.
This country really does not have a great number of blue collar workers any more. Most of the automobile
workers were replaced by robots… or companies that sent large divisions of their manufacturing into other countries as well.
So where are the jobs?
Where are the openings that are available …or will become available for all the displaced workers who are currently out of work… and have been so now for years?
There are none. And nobody can do anything to change that… because of computers coming into the marketplace. They… computers brought about an unpresidented change to what was our workplace.

More and more colleges are offering on-line courses. Have you noticed that?
Some schools are over the internet only.
I am dropping hints here. Personally, I hate on-line courses… and feel that they are a huge waste of time. 
If you are going to sit in isolation… with no classroom interaction… then you might as well just read the book and be done with it.
But if you were considering a teaching career. Great… but you should also consider this fact. That soon many of those teaching jobs too will soon be gone. Due to on-line classes and on-line classrooms… and schools… cities… colleges and universities looking to cut their budgets. It is coming… and soon the classroom as we know it today will be gone forever too… just like yesterdays work force.
And with it will be gone… tenure. Tenures will bite the dust just like pension plans… and all other full-time employment; and whatever else they can do away with for the sank of the bottom line.

Soon even common currency as we know it will be gone too. They are already talking about stop minting the $1 bill. Soon it will just be all plastic… be it a debit card …or credit card…. or something else. But the coins will be gone …and the paper bills.
Bet all those folks working at the Mints all felt that their jobs were well secured. 
We have all better start to think again.
Who ever thought there would be no more pension plans?
Or health care benefits on your job?
I didn’t.
You really have to be a visionary. You have to look deep into the future. You must go beyond your nose… if you truly want to have a chance in the future. You have to look deep beyond what you
see. The future is what you cannot visually see… but something coming.
Many people now do not even go into the office any more. They can do all their work from home. They write their news articles at home… edit news copy at home… edit books at home… and mother-frames and inter-locking networks are big things in corporations now.
I do see computers… and our dependence upon them growing.
In New York City they have all most totally done away with ticket booth operators down in the subway system. They too have been 
replaced by machines… which can dispense to you fare tickets. And while in Boston not so long ago… I noticed that they were doing the same in their subway system.
The world is becoming a place of less working people… and more automated machines. And unless you are 
prepared to service these machines… or program these machines… your work history will too soon come to an abrupt end. And you will find yourself with a need to be re-trained… to nothing.
So, when George W. Bush thought that he could jump start the economy by creating a war… with the hope that the war would create jobs. He and his people forgot something. All those factories were gone… and so weren’t those jobs. And even if the jobs could be revived… robotics still had replaced the manpower that used to produce the goods.
So, the wars didn’t work. But only sunk us deeper and deeper into debt as the years have dragged on. But of course …the Republicans will never tell you any of this. Any more than Verizon will tell you that they were 
happy for any old excuse to rid themselves of paying their employee’s health benefits.
Irene hit the East Coast hard… and it seems that my cousin who informed me of the storm was right. Sadly there were a few deaths. But thank God He saw most of us through it safely.
My cousins and friends in various places… including my brother had to deal of electrical outages. But that is 
the least. Many suffered damages due to flooding and/or falling trees.
The good news is Irene wasn’t as bad as what had been expected. To God be the glory.
The New York subway is up and running once again. Though on our way back from Atlanta… I did notice where many of the over-passes in the New York area were being worked on. And that was following the earthquake that hit us… before Irene came bouncing and blowing in.

Blessings Abound… Politics & Republicans…
It really should be no surprise to me to be on the bus or out anywhere… to 
hear someone call my name. But I guess I am still not quite used to it yet… though it has been going on for years and years. It comes with the territory I guess… of being somewhat of what they call a star. At least, some people think so.
They are always reminding me of my days on radio… things I used to say…
music I used to play… events I put on etc…etc…
And it is always nice to meet up with them… though many of them I do not even know their names… but they know mine. And know it well.
In fact, they strike up conversations with me as though we were old friends. That’s nice… To think that they consider me a friend… a voice that used to invade their homes… their offices… and automobiles. I guess you could say we have a connection… and I appreciate their kindness to me. That they should feel that.
Nearly 40 years now… and I am still a shinning light to them. Truly, I have been blessed.
Yesterday, while riding the bus I overheard some people talking about the deficit reduction plan. Talking about how various social programs were in for big cuts… cuts to social security…. medicare and Medicaid… college money etc. Not up on the news… I sat listening to them while looking off in 
another direction.
One lady said that at anytime now we will start to see major cuts in our income. It made me start to think… And…oh, yeah, the sky could come crashing down too.
Then she said… and I ain’t got nothing now. I don’t even have $5 in the bank.
It made me think that just a few days ago, and for more than 20 days my own bank account was in the red by nearly $120. Oh, woe is me…
I can’t imagine what $17 trillion dollars may look like… but I do know that Oprah doesn’t have enough to even try to cover that bill. But it is the state that we are in. And yes, I am going to throw a stone… a big fat rock if I can find 1 nearby. 
Because it is very true… when George Bush stole his way into the White House successfully proclaiming himself ‘President’ …we had a surplus. And that was under a Democratic President… a guy from a little ol’ State called Arkansas.
That guy’s name was Bill Clinton… but from the moment George W. Bush hit the White House all of that went bye-bye. The guy was a one-way force stronger than any tornado… the way he whipped in there, and blew us up hard against the rocks… just as hard as he could.
So, here we are today… left in this mess. One of the worst and most massive messes to hit this country… and if history has its way, and the truth finally does come to light… probably worst than the day that Wall Street went dark after the stock market crashed in the 1930’s.
And who was George W. Bush?
He was a Republican!

The Republicans are up to their old tricks again… and it may be cliché to say. I know… you’ve heard time and time before. But it is true. They never fail to keep pulling out that same old smelly trick bag. And always just about every election time… in order to make the Democrats look bad.
And it is not the Democrats really that they are after… not really… but Obama. Oh, yeah… I forgot he is a Democrat too… not just ‘a black man.’
How do we stop Obama… is and has been the foremost thing on their minds… and on the tip of their tongues…of every almost 1 of those Republicans. Because lets face it… as hard as it may seem. There are some Republicans with a moral conscious and true sense of responsibility to their constituents… and to this country too.
But for the most part…most of those Republicans do not. They sleep dreaming about this. How they can keep the poor poorer… and the defenseless weaker.
They lay at night… and so even in the day thinking…
Well, let’s make Obama look bad… in effective… and lets just not pass anything that will get Americans back to work …or aid Obama in better doing his job for America. Lets just block everything we can… clog up the process… ‘hem and ha’ for as long as we can… go on vacation… and when we get back… vote against everything that Obama puts on the table.
That’s the sentiment. The vibe… and silent agreement among them.
Well, my friends so you have it in a nut shell. Oh, my goodness! Forget that I said that. But this is the rational of the 
Republicans… people you may have …or may not have voted into office… but they are there.
Why would a group of people who profess that they love this country …and the people of this country… be out to do such harm to this country?
It really doesn’t make much sense…
Well, not to us.
Because they like playing political games. It is not about you or I. It is about the game, baby. And seeing who will win… who can make the most money… what friends and compadres… and co-hearts they can make rich today… so that they will able to turn around and bless me tomorrow, when they run for President or that Congressional seat next term.
This is their warped thinking. That 1 hand washing another hand thang… in the back room thinking.
Someone over the internet asked-
“What does warped thing mean?”
Three answers were given:
- deviant thought process
- inappropriate modes of thought
- …and worst of all… acting upon those thought
Great numbers of people cast their votes for people who go under the title “REPUBLICAN.” Within the past few months of this year, in some State elections many people came to grieve the vote that they may have cast for some men whom they voted in as Governors of their States. Men who were “REPUBLICANS” who set about to undermine and destroy their State… and attempted to cut their jobs and/or lay them off… and called it in the name of ‘cutting their budgets.’ They targeted unions, state workers, teachers… and everything else they could set fire to in order to in truest essence … to breakup Democratic strongholds.
Democratic strongholds????
What is that?
That is groups or organizations that continually work to support those 
candidates which they believe they can trust, and who have their best interests at heart. Which usually ends up being anybody but a Republican… and usually the Democratic candidate.
If the Republicans worked as hard at winning back the trust and faith of Americans on the merit of ‘good works’ for the good of the people at large… not just for a chosen elite few… maybe then there would be more trust in the Republican Party.
The Republican Party is not about building trust or faith… or any type of merit… with any kind of real sincerity or genuine heart. They are full of deceit 
and corruption… lies… and malice for most of us. If it were not so then they would not be playing politics with every issue that affects the well-being of the American public.
The FAA today has some 70,000 airport workers laid off from work, because of the political games that Republicans like to play. They are not into job creation… because the creation of jobs would make Obama look good. And heaven forbid that should ever happen.
Both sides talk a good game… but none can out-talk those double-talking tricky Republicans. They are even so cool and cunning that they decided to create a 2nd Republican Party… and call it the Tea Party. Now, I ask you… how cunning is that? And what a bunch of extreme jerks they are. But than anybody who would have gotten their start under the gumption of someone by the name of Palin can’t have ’em all anyway.

I am sicken by all kinds of acts and crimes against children. Perhaps it stems from myself having been abused as a small child. But I have no tolerance for it… and desire that all such people be put where they truly belong …away from all mankind forever.
Though one might argue about what harm does it do if someone only wanted to look at pictures of small children. But thoughts bloom into acts and actions… and once carried out these acts and actions can never be taken back… or erased from the minds… and sadly fro
m the behavior of many children. Child abuse on any level does hurt.
I love this picture… so until I get tired of it you will see it again and again. I just love the rain. And doesn’t this picture look sooooo refreshing.
Speaking of which… while on my return trip the bus driver started talking to me. He told me about those places where people are in dire need of rain… as there has not been any for so time now. If you live in 1 of those… I hope this picture gives you some relief… and know that rain is on the way.

What is the question here…
What is responsibility?
When somebody espouses a whole lot of trash talking in the ghetto…
Well, they just better be able to back it up or say nothing.
That is how it is in the hood.
Now, I have never lived in the streets or out on the lane …or down on the Blvd. But I do know that when you fool around and talk a lot of junk you better be ready to back it up… or suffer the consequences.
During the pre-term elections recently held this past November… Sara Palin did a whole lot of big 
talking… before and after. Even as far as pasting up a bunch of cross-hairs upon certain campaign areas that she and her supposed ‘tea party’ crew… or group of flunkies… were aiming to take over.
This past weekend in 1 of those areas … a congresswoman was shot in the head and 6 others were killed in an area that Palin singled out on her cross-hairs map.
That sounds like a whole of lot of big time talk. The which if it had been done in the hood it would have meant all out and out war. Because it would have certainly meant that you were out to get somebody.
And it would have meant that you were gunning for them. And in hood talk… that means to kill ’em.
You don’t go around drawing pictures like that in the hood… and nobody knows what it means?
No, that is a loud and crystal clear message… ask any black folks.
Frankly, such a thing should be as illegal as shouting “FIRE” in crowded place.
I do not think that it is a coincidence that Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, a Arizona State 
Representative, and liberal political was shot in the head some 2 days ago.
Nor do I believe that the shooting was some ramdom act of some dissatisfied Arizonan voter.
No, I think that the picture is a lot bigger than that.
It is a picture of hate mongering and fear embedding that became very popular under the Bush administration. Something that the Republicans have become very famous …or should I say… infamous for doing. Then turning around and crying that they ‘had nothing to do with it.’
But the tactics are theirs. And they pull them out whenever a political race is hot… meaning close… and when they wish to get an upper hand.
So, they set about evoking weak-minded people to do tragic things like shooting an innocent woman in the head, who was working hard to the benefit of the people which she represents.
And, yes.
Sarah Palin is to blame along with those who coach her. And they need to go up on charges of conspiracy. For acting to incite individuals to go out and commit murder or other type of criminal acts against politicians that they are against.
If a person worked in an insane asylum and gathered up the interest of a resident in that asylum provoking that person to hate someone enough to hurt or even kill them. And the insane asylum 
person upon his release goes in search of the person they had been provoked against… and somehow hurts or otherwise kills the person… who would be to blame?
Clearly, the person who provoked the insane person to do so.
And the law would seek that person out.
So, why should Sara Palin and her people be any different?
This world is full of a lot of sick and/or weak-minded individuals who listen and believe a lot of the political rhetoric that they hear… watch or read. A lot of it is devicely twisted to anger people falsely. And in cases such as in the Palin camp… they work to 
implant seeds of violent acts.
And anyone who does this is looking for a violent outcome.
Why else would anyone put up gun cross-hairs if they were not insinuating that someone should go out and shot somebody that they have set their sights upon?
That is the only reason why someone would do that.
And to do so is illegal.
And is certainly not a joke.
Lets say the shoe was on the other foot… and the congresswoman and launch a website and put 
up a map with gun cross-hairs on it. And in the center of those cross-hairs was Palin and her family.
What do you think would have been Palin’s out-cry?
Would there have been one?
Yes. You bet… and a loud one. And Palin would have been seeking some type of action. Maybe even legal I have no doubt.
The Republicans love double standards. They can play certain games… but not you.
You can’t… because they are quick to cry ‘foul.’

If a group of cons or crooks…. or drug cartel…. or thugs had mastermind such a thing without a doubt they would have all been rounded up by now and charged.
Is this not the same thing when a drug dealer puts a gun into the hand of little child 12 or 13 -year-old, and tells them to go out and shoot somebody?
They know that the little 12 or 13-year-old is a kid, and not likely to serve a sentence as long as theirs would be, if they went out and perpetrated the crime themselves.
What is the difference between using weak-minded people that do what some of these politicians tell them to do via their commercials and other rhetoric used to poison the minds of such people, in order to have them go out and do their dirty work?
I am for justice and totally against people who would ever try to incinerate anyone against somebody simply because we do not agree politically… or religiously. Or for any reason really.
In the 1980’s when the anti-abortion acted in similar ways… the outcome was abortion clinics being bombed, and abortion doctors were killed.
How crazy was that?
You don’t believe in abortion but you blow up people in an abortion clinic?
Or go out shooting abortion doctors?
What kind of life did they believe in?
Only that of the fetus… and not that of the adult people they were killing?
Is life not life?
Are we all to agree on every subject?
Just how boring would life be if we all submitted ourselves out of fear to being liked minded because someone was holding a gun over us.
There is a sickness that prevails and is festering, least ways in this country, that makes 1 re-consider George Orwell’s book. And perhaps we need not look at Big Brother as a government system… but as a political party. The Republican Party.
Well, this is my first post for the New Year.
I was so busy prior to stepping into this New Year that I literally barely got any sleep for almost 8 days. A whole lot of legal work to take care of.
First of all, the city had come up against my parent’s house for property taxes. And I had to act really quickly in order to try to head it off.
So, that is still in the works. Hopefully, we will get a court date and God will give the Judge to be kind.
Then there some other legal matters that I wanted to have out of hair before stepping into 2011… and finally I did manage to do that too.
So, you see I wasn’t just goofing off.
And I had to go out to shovel snow 2 times this past weekend. But thank goodness it was neither heavy or a lot of snow.
So, all is well.
And I am wishing you a great and highly prosperous year.
And thank goodness God is still on throne.

Eva Longoria headed for divorce… North Korea milliary strike… Palin’s reality…
It never fails to amaze me just how stupid some men can sometimes be.
What was wrong with Tony Parker that he just could not be true to one of most beautiful women in Hollywood?
Clearly, Eva Longoria loved him. And he appeared to be happy with her.

I recall that when the rumors surfaced regarding his bachelor party and some ‘woman of
the night.’ Eva quickly dismissed it. She totally declared it to be false and denounced anyone who dared to even claim such a thing about her then husband to be.
And why not?
Aren’t you suppose to trust the person who your are going to partner yourself to for the rest of your life?
But it would seem that Tony has proven those rumors …and all tho stories to be true.
And he looked so innocent. Perhaps, too innocent.
What is it about men that when they have a good woman… a loving and caring mate… that they fail to be able to be true to her.
You often hear men… and many women as well… often belly aching about how they cannot seem to find the right person… a good person… a decent person… a hard working man… or a loving and caring woman. Yet, when presentedd with 1 they fail to be able to appreciate him… or her.
I remember Donald Trump and his parting from Ivana. Just about everybody on 
this planet thought he was crazy. Even Marla probably had to laugh about that… as she took the Donald to the bank.
Then there was Rick somebody or other… Oh, yeah… Rick Fox and Vanessa Williams. What a jerk he must have been. Who in his right mind would ever want to be kicked to the curb by Vanessa.
But some of these guys are just to pretty. But then when they lose out on what they had… and find themselves out in the cold reflecting on their errors… it is always too late.
Grow up gentlemen and ladies… learn to appreciate and respect what you have already while you yet have it.
I have had at least 2 men cry in my presence while telling me about their wives. The wife they cheated on… took for granted… could have cared less about… until she was no more. She passed.
As I listen to 1 of them tell me how his wife had been his best friend… his childhood sweetheart… and how he cheated on her so many times… I could not help but think as tears rolled down his face-
“Why is it that you can always see a good thing when it is gone?”
All chances of showing her… or rectifying the situation had been removed. She was dead. Gone forever…and now he didn’t want anybody else. He had stopped with all the other women. All when it didn’t matter… because she was gone.
How sad can that be?
But it happens day in and day out. Some people have everything that anybody could ever want… and they just do not appreciate it.
Truly sad.

In my Just War’s class this would be called an act of ‘aggression.’
In Political Science there are a couple of ways that ‘aggression’ can be allowed and/or tolerated by the national community. One is for the reason of an ‘assumed threat’ by another nation-state. Or 2 for a reason where 1 country believes that there is real and eminent threat of being struck first.

Because of nuclear weapons small Nation States no longer fear hegemon states… large powerful nations such as the United States or Great Britain… or Russia any more. The power that hegemon states once wheeled has long fallen by the wayside. The ability to create and use nuclear weapons has become the great equalizer. And now small nation states such as North Korea, Iran, Pakistan etc… now feel their muscles beginning to bulge beneath their shirts. Yes, we have to side with our allies. And it is in our best interest to do so.
But when acts of aggression occur do not our allies likewise have an obligation to stand with us?
Today there is only 1 real super power left in this world… and that is the United States. But with soaring illegal immigration around the world… drug wars… rogue states… religious fanatics… and even some very unstable people running some foreign governments… it would seem that other like-minded nations have no choice but to stand with us. There is just too much going on in the world 
today… for any nation which is an allie of the United States to just sit back.
The ills that face this world take an united effort to quail and try to lay to rest. And that is the force that will overcome rogue nations… religious fanatics and zealots from destroying the world… unity.
Palin’s real world reality is…is that nobody really wants to watch her or her family on television. She is just not that exciting … or intriguing. And the show may hit the dust before its 8 week 
contract is up.
When the idea for this show was pitched… every thumb in the room should have been turned down towards the table. That is what TV exec’s should have done… tabled it before it got out of the box. But now after the dim ratings i just 2 episodes… they soon will.

Well, we are now almost just 1 day away from Thanksgiving. This afternoon I made 8 apple pies. I have to make at least 2 more tomorrow…and then put a few sweet potato 
pies into the oven too.
I had bought the peaches for peach cobbler but decided to hold off on that until Christmas.
I do not know about you… but I can’t get to the table quick enough or to that turkey.
Tomorrow, I have to pick up the video camera equipment because I have decided that I wanted to video tape us all together. This year we came awfully close to having lost 1 of my sisters. She suffered a heart attack.
She is doing just fine now… but during the course of the week she was in the hospital all I wanted to do was pray. And is all I did really.
God heard our prayers.
Hope that He has heard yours too. Through the course of a year many situations come up. It is good to be able to depend upon the Lord.

Rangel… Pelosi… Palin…
I am now back in business. For a while my internet service was out….but now it is back. And I am up and running.
Now, for all the things I have wanted to comment on and couldn’t…but now have the leisure and resources to now do so…namely electricity and a broadband internet line.
On to…Charlie Rangel. He got just what he deserved. A big fat slap across the face… with more to come…I hope.
How dare this man making all this money… as a supposed representative of the people of New York City… a real mover and shaker… property barron (being a part owner of 
the landmark Apollo Theater and I suspect having other property holdings as well outside of those subsidized apartments).
Yes, how dare Charlie Rangel sit around lounging in rent controlled apartments… 1 of 2 or 3 
that he owes in New York taking subsides and write-offs at the mercy of hardworking taxpaying people in New York. Many of whom who themselves can barely make it from day to day due the high cost of rent in the city. While Charlie Rangel has had his choice of places in which to lay his head and conduct business dealings all at considerable lower rates than the average New Yorker… and all in the name of his hardworking constituents.

Truthfully, I have been waiting on the hammer to be lowered on him since the news was
leaked about his double dealings a while ago.
It has always been a wonder to me as to why people who have money… why they are always trying to beat the system in ways that many of us would not think to do.
Being in New York… I often hear people talking about rent controlled apartments and how they wished they could get into one. After hearing the amounts that you could pay for rent in 1… there is little wonder why anyone wouldn’t want to move into 1.
Why not?
When you could pay anywhere from $300 to maybe $500 in rent for some really grand apartment space?
Compare that to paying $2200 which is currently what my apartment is going for. And to many that would seem cheap by New York City standards… and especially considering how beautiful my apartment is. But not to me. Paying that kind of money you really should be owning whatever it is that you are living in. Which is why I have made up my mind that the next time I move into something… I will be owning it. But in New York you can find people happily paying $10,000 a month in rent. Go figure that.
Before I would even consider paying that kind of money for anything… I would go and run for Charlie Rangel’s office in the Senate first.
Now on…to Palin. I am so sick of Palin.
Honestly, this is classically what God calls calling evil good and good evil. But in Palin’s case it is the ignorant calling her capable when clearly she is not. And she is a clear example of somebody on too many drugs and cough medicine… all thrown in together.
And I do mean all thrown in.
What is the intrigue?
She was neither the brightest nor smartest. When she was running for Vice President on the McCain ticket she was thought of as being just a touch above brain-dead… and quickly came to be little more than a laughing-stock to most people here in the States.
So, who could hope that any of that has changed?
It is not like she somehow managed to find the yellow brick road to Oz and got a chance to visit the wizard.
Somebody please tell me why is Palin trying to make herself look like some kind of powerful political broker following the recent elections?
It is absolutely ridiculous.
But I guess if you can pull off…then… Some people will fall for anything… and anybody.
There has only been 1 real Tea Party in this country and that was in 1777 when they stormed upon British ships in Boston and began throwing over barges of tea into the Boston Harbour .jpg)

Outside of that this new-found tea party is merely just a group of wacko extremist Republicans who will soon fall to their own demise. If for no other reason than the fact that they simply think that they are just tooooooooo big for their own breeches. I have heard them talk… and they all seem to be a bunch of power hungry monguls.
Yes, I am back. And it feels sooooooo good.
I have been holding all of this in for some time now. And it is just good to finally release some of it.
I am happy that the Democrats didn’t totally decide to jump ship and to kick Nancy Pelosi to the curb. I think that she has done a good job. She has handled her duties well. And she has done it as well as any man I have seen sit in that capacity.
Wounded maybe by some of the losses that they suffered during this past election period perhaps. But all in all the Democrats fared pretty well. In a an election season where it was thought that they would have been totally overthrown they were not.
Just goes to show that all that media hype was just that… just a bunch of hype. And then the ballots came in… and they set the record straight.
Personally, I feel that the Republicans need to stop gunning for President Barack Obama.
Since Obama walked into the White and took a seat at that desk in the Oval Office… I for 1 having been sleeping a lot better. There is no one on this planet who cannot say that there has not be a sense of calm and more peace of mind since Obama became President of the United States. Whereas ever second under George W. Bush there was some cause to fret… a red alert… a yellow alert… code red… enemy bombers on this plane and that airplane.
What ever happened to all of that?
Guess it all packed up and went back to Texas when George Bush went home.
How quickly we forget the horror we had while under the oppressive and highly dangerous… and lying thumb of George Bush.
It has been cloudy here. It rained a bit last night but not as much as they had forcasted.
I am so looking forward to Thanksgiving. And 1 of the things on my Thanksgiving list is a thankfullness to God for all that He has done… and continues to do for all of us.

Family…Obama and Health Care Reform Bill passing…out of work out of mind…
Well, I know it has been a while since I last blogged anything…but if you knew what I have been doing…then I don’t think you would have minded.
First of all…most recently we have discovered some long lost relatives. And I do mean…loooooong and lost.
They live in Alaska…believe it or not. And I did say Alaska…where they have been for the past 40 years.
Who knew?
Well, we sure didn’t. But God has a way of uniting families…and friends again. He really 
does…and always in His own time.
At any rate…I have found some new cousins. Or rather they have found us. And it is so wonderful.
One in particular…a cousin by the name of Jean…has been taking up all of my time. Somehow or other…she came to believe that I do nothing all day but sit around waiting on her to call me. And she talks for hours. So much so that she even has told me-
“Oh, why don’t you just take the phone with you into the bathroom.”
This mind you…so we can continue to talk while I shower. She is so funny. She keeps me laughing.
She is indeed a character. But I guess it gets like that when you find something that you never thought you had. What a feeling it is.
In watching bits and pieces of news in between my various stops…as you may recall…I no longer watch television. So, I catch the news from time to time while stepping into this place or dashing into this one…that is if I don’t read it first over the internet.
But while watching Obama out stomping for Health Care Reform…I could not help but notice how 
much more he seemed to be in command…sure of himself…by far more Presidential than I had ever seen him (outside of the debates he had had with John McCain while running for office). He seems to be more comfortable with the position…and the carrying of that title…’Mr. President’… than ever before.
It made me think while observing on a news flash…of the Biblical text where it states-
“What the devil means for evil, God will turn it around for your good.”
Truly, one could say that this has been the case for President Obama.
What the Republicans meant for evil…God has turned it around for his…and I guess you could say for ‘our’ good as well. Where they tried to 
hinder him and block him…it only forced Obama to step up his game…push harder…fight tougher…become more determined. And in the process he has come off looking sharper and keener…and certainly by far more Presidential than I have seen him.
Though the battle to get the bill through the Senate has clearly shown that Obama is not somebody who backs down. He has proven that he is tougher than they think. And the good part is…they can’t pull anything out of Obama’s closet in order to try to keep him quiet…or keep him in check.
Pulling skeletons out of the closet is a popular deviced used by Republicans. It was what they used against President Clinton from the very moment
he stepped into the White House…and if the truth be told…before he even got there.
It was also a ploy that the Republicans 
used against Ted Kennedy to keep him out of the White House…and oftentimes as a means to try to keep him silence him and keep him quiet, and in his place. But Teddy was a fighter. Call him what they would…but he never backed down…or let it stand in his way when it came to standing up for what was right.
Which is why for the life of me…I cannot see why Democrats in Massachusetts did not turn out in full force to ensure that Ted Kennedy’s seat stayed Democratic?
Say what they will about the woman who was running for that seat. It still should not have mattered whether she got out and worked for it or not. Because at the end of the day…she didn’t really matter. But what really mattered was…that we continue to give Barack Obama all the support, aid…and help that he needs to get his job done…and done properly. And that cannot be done with a whole lot of complacency because people feel that Obama has not done anything since being in 
the White House. It has only been a few months.
By this time in his term…George Bush had alread squandered away the surplus that Bill Clinton had left on the books…when he departed from the White House following the end of his term as President. And then he kept on spending more and more
money…even though he had already gone through the reserve.
Which is why George Bush and his buddies were so hot to go after the Social Security money. They wanted to wreck that too…and leave all of us in a hole. Not to say that they didn’t leave us in a big fat pit anyways. Because they did.
It is like folk expect Obama to be some kind of a magican.
Who said change comes ‘over night?’
If it took all of 8 years to get us into this mess under George W. Bush. So, why should anybody believe it should take a few months or a year…or a couple of years to get us out of it?
It may well take all of Obama’s years and then some before we finally see any turn in the Bush mess. Because believe it or not…George W. Bush really did ‘a job’ on this country…on our country’s policies…and anything and everything else he could corrode…taint…or destroy.
Half of what Bush did to undermind this country is still yet to come to the forefront. After years of chaos and havoc…and ton loads of failed policies…a wars…and antagonzing our
friends…and allies…not to mention ‘the money.’ And then not to mention all the power brokering that set into motion a failed economy…that not only rocketed us but also the world into near bankruptcy…plus skyrocketing unemployment numbers…massive massive massive job losses due to lots of failing corporations…many which had been staples in our economy. Companies that churned out the very first automobilies…drafted the blue prints for them…and built them from nothing. Now gone… Or bought out by foreign entities.
What has happened to us?
Bush-nomics?
Perhaps…
And yes…Bush…and Bush senior…and everybody in between had a hand in it…when they started selling off America to the highest bidders…sending jobs overseas…seeking cheaper labor…and failed to look at the greater and bigger picture.
They lacked vision.
All they saw was a global market…a bigger world to take from. And how to weaken and get richer by.
But what happened to the vision?
Shouldn’t our leaders have some vision of where they want this country to go?
Where they are taking us?
What it should look like and be like in the next 10 or 20 years?
The Bible says-
“My people perish for lack of vision.”
Where are the visionaries?
Don’t we have any…any more?
When the Founding Fathers laid the foundation for the government of this country
they were looking in the future. They had an understanding of what the President should be like…his values…his morals…and his judgement. If they could step into this present time…I wonder what they would say. Perhaps there would be some tears…because it seems that the very things they tried prevent from happening over time came about. And they saw it…they realized the problems that certain selfish endeavors and alliances could bring about.
Even in my own town I see a lack of vision. It started years ago and has 
continued from administration to administration.
When I look at downtown Brooklyn and what Brooklyn 
has come to look like in the past few years…it all looks great. But…
When I look at 125th Street in Harlem…it looks okay. But…
What happened to the people who used to live there…the stores that used to be there…the business people who were forced out of their businesses because of higher rental rates…and eminent domain… etc…etc…?
When I look around and see all the vacant warehouses that used to house massive factory 
complexes and tons of workers…all that is gone now. And those places if they have not been torn down have all be turned into condos and/or artist work spaces.
Today you see everybody trying to get into health care. Of course a few years ago when AIDS first came upon the horizon…everybody began moving away from careers in the health field…but no more. In fact, you see more men than ever before opting to become nurses. It is all rather strange.
When I was back in college…practically everybody… Well, most of the women were
studying to become school teachers. Our campus did not have a nursing department…but today nearly most campus’ do. And there are tons of people vying to try to get into a good nursing program…which from what I hear they tend to be highly selective and very competive.
When I was in college you could always get a job as a bank teller, or a receptionist, or office clerk…telephone operator, switchboard operator, telemarketing person…etc., but all of those jobs for the most part are gone…meaning most of them no longer exist. Between banking machines, automated voices…and of course, the influx of computers millions of people and jobs have been shoved out…and onto the sidelines. Or should I say…into unemployment lines.
Today, I heard that the National Unemployment rate is 9.7% for Americans who are out of a 
job…and for African Americans the rate is vastly higher being…being 15.8%. Bush-nomics hard at work…
Wow.
To hear people talking about being out of work or 2 or more years…is really heartbreaking. It is hard to survive without a job…not knowing where your next dime is going to come from…going from month to month in uncertainity about your food…shelter…who is going to pay your bills…or what bill you can afford to pay this month. I do know the feeling…and can relate to anyone going through it.
There was a time you could be a home health attendant just by merely filling out an application. Now people need classes and have to take tests. And it seems that today even that kind of job is hard to find…when before they were always looking for people to fill those slots.
Times truly have changed…but one thing has not. People will continue to need and will have a need for good health care whether they have a job or not…and irregardless if they may be health today. With escalating prices…a system nearly now dominated by ‘for-profit’ entities
on all sides of the coin…people (the general public) need to be protected from them…and serviced properly by them…and with dignity. And that is what I hope that this bill just signed and brought about by President Obama will do.
Can you imagine that various Democratics have been targetted since having passed the bill?

I guess all that lying about Obama’s Health Care Reform Plan…fell upon deaf hears in the end…nor the calling the President a liar. With a vote of 220 to 207…the Democrats won…which finally allowed the bill to pass in the U. S. Senate.

Can you imagine such a woman ever sitting in the White House?
I understand that the real reason Palin bailed out of her office was because the people in Alaska were calling for her to be impeached. That sounds like a good reason to go running for the hills, and to leave her office in midst of her term.
Wouldn’t look so great now would it?
I mean not with all the bad press that that would have gotten her. The woman is truly a disaster.
On another note…while reading something other things over the internet I came across an 
article regarding Israel’s new attitude towards the United States.
“We don’t need America.”
Such a statement seems ludacris to me…after all these years of taking 
America’s money and being given our weapons…and actively seeking the support of America to defend and maintain them in the Middle East. Yes…that statement seems a bit odd to me.
I would hope that it does not stem from the fact that America now has a black…or African American President.
Least ways…I would hope not. But one must wonder. There could be no other reason. As though American suddenly has lost some level of power or authority in the world since Barack Obama went into office.
If anything we have regained a new level of respect…and respectability. And I have no doubt a greater level of security and a feeling of sincerity among our Allies fowlling the Bush era.

I was happy to read the below article in it regards to President Obama’s support of Black Colleges and Univerisities. These historic institutions are so important to us. And deserve to aided as so many leading African American professionals emerge from them.

ask if it was true). Not only that but my cousin, Jean…told me that on any given day…they are subject to running into 
a moose. Which they have to pay attention to whether or not his…or her…ears are down and their hair is standing up…which means ‘look out.’ Because it could charge at you at any moment.
It all sounds a bit like living out in the wilderness to me. Because…well… Because of the bears. Yes…I said bears. Then there is the brown bear…and of course…the polar bear. Both of which are no joke… and will eat you.
Yes…it sounds a bit too wilderness-ery to me. And they live in downtown 
Anchorage. And this picture…of course…is Anchorage in the summer…where they do have 24 hours of light all summer long. Unbelievable.
And in discovering our lost relatives…we also have 
found out what Native American Indian tribe my family belongs to. It is the Seminole Indians. Which I will have you know is the only indian tribe in America that never signed a peace treaty. I just had to go up on their site to find out about them. I would love to meet our family on that side as well.
I wonder if it is possible?

Saint Palin making a push for it… Tracy a city lost in sin… dog fever…
It should be of no surprise to anyone when Palin recently announced that she had considered aborting her infant son after being told that he was going to be a child with Down Syndrome. As I wrote in an earlier blog on Palin…the mere fact that she did not tell her family about being pregnant…then her flying off to conferences and the like while knowingly being aware that she was leaking her amniotic fluids…the baby’s lifeline…signaled that she not only thought about it. But Sarah Palin was attempting to administer in a very real way…her own form of birth control…or abortion…if you will…you take your pick.
When I initially read that story about the leaking fluids and Palin…I immediately knew exactly what she had been attempting to do. No loving or caring mother would have jepardized her unborn child like that. But Palin did…and just like she did this past week…she turned the story around to make it appear as though she had done some great and humane thang…because the baby had survived. And was born…a thing she has been trying to capitalize on every since.
Oh, they roared and cheered for Palin…as she did what she has always done…and I guess may have even gotten better at doing now that she has had so much practice doing it…got out seeking her own personal fame at that right-to- life banquet where she made her wonderful disclosure. What she called…”for a fleeting moment“…that she had considered having an abortion upon hearing the news that her son was going to be born with Down Syndrome. I doubt that it was anything but for ‘a fleeting moment’ that Palin considered that thought. I am more of a mind to believe that she actively and intentionally sought to do it…in her own little way. But it just was not to be…and it was not for a lack of trying.
Palin seems to be a master at pulling that old quasi-Mid-Western/Alaskian thang to con people into believing her to be some king of super mom/woman…and thinking that she is either just a joke…a fool…or some kind of saint. With most of the Republicans eager to believe the latter no matter what. She definitely believes she has got ’em fooled. And every chance she gets…Saint Palin keeps popping up in the news…for one thing or another. She is not intent on allowing anybody to forget who she is. Ambition…is something.
Whatever…
Saint Palin is at it again…and she is willing to use everything and anything it takes…to keep herself in the forefront…with her eye steady on the White House with a hope for her 2012 run straight into the Presidency. What a joke. I think…not. Saint or no Saint…Palin.

There was something about seeing that woman’s picture that you just knew she had done some insane sort of thing. But what…you could not imagine. But you knew it was deep…and going to be disturbing. And it was.
I cannot remember having ever read before where a newspaper article stated that some woman was arrested for raping anyone. That woman in that picture…the one with that crazed…insane look…whom I could not imagine what she had done…nor did I want to think about it. Because if you have gotten anything out of reading these blogs by now…it is this. 
That I hate these kind of stores. I am greatly disturbed by them. There are some things which haunt me for days…so I try not to read them… particularly…crimes against children.
Most of the time I turn away and resist reading such stories. Because I simply cannot take the thought of such things…it bothers me greatly. And for days if not much longer these things linger in my mind and in my
heart.
I cannot for the life of me…understand it.
Why would someone want to hurt a little child?
What pleasure is gotten out of abusing a child sexually…or any other way?
What kind of woman would have done such a thing?
What is gotten from robbing the innocence from the innocent?
How can you do such a thing without being greatly troubled?
And troubled she was…that woman. You saw it in her picture posted all over the web and I guess all in the news. She looked deranged…insane…besieged by demons…plagued by satanic spirits…and forces. And she was.
The story is horrible. She had been a Sunday school teacher…and yet she had done something I had never heard said of any woman before…she raped.
A little girl who played with her own little girl…who had come looking for her playmate…the woman’s daughter. And this bewildered woman…locked deep in the satanic lust of her mind…laid hands upon her, that little gir…and took her….and performed acts upon her that were unspeakable. And we pray…killed her before she began to dismember her…stuffed her into a suitcase…and then threw her into an irrigation ditch.
What was going on in that woman’s mind?
How long had she been wrestling with the demons which were chasing her?
Had she done other acts…this Sunday school teacher?
It is hard to believe that there were not signs.
What kind of place is this town Tracy, California?
What kind of evil town is it that suddenly such evil is prevailing itself upon it…within its walls?
Could it be like one of those evil cities sited in the Bible?
Could there be such places where evil just abounds?
There can…and Tracy, CA proves it.
The article read that a few months earlier…a young teenage boy with shackles…emaciated…tortured…and weak…somehow managing to get away ran away from those who had kidnapped him and held him hostage…begging , “Hide me…please. Hide me.”
What kind place is this Tracy?
Is it like the city that Lot lived in?
Where he sat upon the fence watching as the acts of sin that were carried out before him.
What kind of time are we living in?
What is going on?
Could this be last days and time?
A few years ago I was listening to the radio and a story came up over the airwaves about this farm. At this farm the people checked in like it was hotel…and they went there to have sex with the animals. They were into beastiality. It too…was a horrifying story. It turned my stomach.
Who would think that such a place existed?
But if there was one…there has to be others.
What kind of people are these?
I was sick to my stomach hearing that story. I am sick now thinking about it…and the other stories which I have heard or know about…including all of this murdering. And all this murdering of young children.
One night while at a Sala Soul Sister’s meeting in New York…down in the Village at the Gay and Lesbian Center…a young woman came and gave a discussion. I had not known what she was going to talk about until she was introduced and began to speak. I had noticed that she was indeed very attractive and she was dressed fashionably in this leather vested outfit. It was her wardrobe which really gave a clue…but I was naive. I knew nothing on the subject…but I came to know an awful lot about the subject as she began to share her story with us.
She had just reached 50 years old…and I would not have guessed that. And she expressed how angry she was that none of her friends had shared with her anything about the lifestyle she was currently involved in. She even went as far as saying-
“I had to wait until I was 50 before anybody told me about this. And I am so mad.”
You want to know what her story was…don’t you?
Some of you already know…because of what I said about her dress.
She was involved in S&M…bondage.
Once I came to understand what she was talking about…I began to feel really sorry for this
woman. She looked corporate to me…but I would have never have guessed that she was involved in anything adverse…much less S&M.
I had never met or talked to anyone involved in such a thing. But I knew immediately like that woman with that crazed looked upon her face…the Sunday school teacher…that this woman too was lost. She spoke of some restaurant in New York City…saying that after a certain hour at night all the doors are locked and everybody inside there engages in acts of S&M.
I was shocked that such a place as that existed in New York…or anywhere else. And a restaurant?
That woman was so deep into that life…that sub-culture of S&M that as I watched and listened to her…I knew she was not going to be coming out unless something miraculous happened to her. She was deep into it…and she loved it. She marveled in it…that life…and what she was doing in it. She spoke of that lifestyle with such passion that it was frightening to me just listening to her. Just to know that somebody could be so taken with something…so…so… so….contrary to life.
Bondage?
Pain?
I do not know if I ever went back to another Salsa Soul Sisters meeting after that. That had to be one of my last meetings. I was appalled by it. And most of the other women there…at that meeting with me…they seemed to be enchanted and intrigued by the lifestyle. But I found nothing intriguing or enchanting about someone tying me up or handcuffing me to anything and then beating me or bringing out a whip to take it to inflict me with pain. Nor could I see anything sexually arousing in that. It was satanic to me…and no one was going to tell me anything different. And I was angry because my other Salsa Soul Sisters seemed interested in trying it out.
I am so glad that God gave me a mind of my own…another kind of mind. A mind to know what I was willing to accept and the things I was not…and not being swayed from my stance. I am happy that there has always been things that I have said ‘no’ to…and meant it.
How do you allow yourself to sink into all kinds of mess?
How do you allow yourself…your mind to become absorbed in all kinds of foul thoughts and actions?
I am not a fool. I am not going to try everything…1 time…to see. There are many things in this life that I have known that I did not have to try in order for me to determine…yes…o r no from the very on-set.
There is a culture of people who whether it be drug abuse…sexual abuse…child pronography… homosexulaity… beastiality… S&M…or some other adverse…or perverse behavior…they have entered into it willingly.
I will never forget how a woman…a black woman…out of the clear blue sky began telling me about how she used to have sex with her dog. This was somebody I knew…well, I knew her 
somewhat. I did not know what made her divulge such a thing to me. But it made my skin crawl. I wanted to run out of her presence and get away from her. It was sick.
I do not know what season we are living in…but it is sick.
It is corrupt.
I cannot understand it. But it is all Biblical.
The Bible says-
“That there is nothing new under the sun.”
It also says-
“For their sins are great.”
But how can people do what they are doing…to themselves…or to others?”

I am really troubled by the above stories…but I will try to end on an up note.
The Obama’s mutt in my opinion is ugly. But he or she seems friendly enough. So, perhaps 
Obama’s daughters will be quite happy with their new mutt. But it really looks like the First Mom is going to have her hands full with their new little addition.
I am just not an animal person…as you could read by the story above.
But I do not see what all the flax is about…as to whether he…or she came from a rescue center or not. It is just not all that important…while so many young children are loosing their lives behind all of this insanity. There is just so much more to concern ourselves with.
I have been tired…tired…tired all week.
To start with…I never got out of the hairdresser until after 3 AM on Sunday morning. Then I wanted to go to early morning service…which meant I dared not go to sleep following my leaving the hair salon. Because I knew I would probably not wake up until some time later that afternoon.
So, I stayed up as best as I could…and once I got past that. I then realized that if I went home and went to sleep before regular Sunday service…that I was definitely not going to get up. So, again I elected not to go home…so that I would not go to sleep.
I never hit the bed on Easter until some time after 5 PM. But it was fun. I spent it with family…the young up and coming legacy of my parents. And I enjoyed every minute of it…even though I was quite sleepy.
I did managed to peel some apples for a couple of apple pies. And the food was good…and there was plenty of laughter. But through it all I was tired.
So, all this week I have been paying for not having gotten any sleep on Saturday…by being tired my entire week. I am so happy that it Friday. Now, I can stay in and get some much needed sleep without feeling guilty for the next 2 days.
One other thing before closing…no matter what the reasoning of that Sunday school teacher. There can be no excuse for what she did to that little girl.

South Carolina Gov Stonewalling… Iraqi War 6th year… baby boom in white America…
Leave it to a Republican to try and throw a wrench into the works. That South Carolina Governor really 
should consider his actions before he walks around trying to sound tough.
He claims that unless the Obama Administration allows him to do what he 
wants with the money to be allocated to his state…he won’t take the money…none of it. Well, isn’t that just like a Republican?
No consideration to his state…but only to his will to do what he wants. And undoubtedly he is hoping that other governors will follow suit.
But let us examine the state allocations of the Obama stimulus plan…
1. $53.6 billion to help state budgets
2. with 82% to be used for public schools and colleges
3. and 18% on public safety and other government services
So, what is the problem?
I do not see anything wrong with that. It is putting the money in some areas where it is definitely needed to be placed. Schools everywhere are suffering…the state infrastructure…okay.
But the South Carolina Governor wants to take South Carolina’s share of the stimulus and pay down South Carolina’s debt rather than taking the money allocated by the federal government…earmarked for health care, jobs and schools. For which he is playing politics…saying if he can’t do with the money as he wants he will decline to accept it at all.
Talk about cutting off the nose of South Carolina in spite of its face. Perhaps, if it were his personal nose the Governor of South Carolina would not be so quick to say ‘no’ to those funds.
The Democratic National Committee in an effort to inform the good people of South Carolina about the deed of their dearly beloveth Governor…began running ads on the matter. For which the Republican governor called ‘foul’…saying that he thought the Obama Administration was not going to play politics as usual.
Those Republicans can always think of things when it suits their own purposes. Those people in South Carolina deserve to know the kind of fool they have running their state…and it is about time that Democrats have started standing up.
I sincerely applaud the Obama Administration concerning the matter…and taking their stance on the matter of not allowing anyone to bully them. It is about time some Democrats with backbone finally got into some positions of real power…and used it.

In Willamina, Oregon, the school board is planning of distributing birth control pills to the teens 
in their high school. Following what they call an outbreak in the increase of pregnancy in Willamina. With fewer than 300 students in their high school system…they had 5 senior girls who gave birth to babies this year with another 9 girls on their way to the maternity ward. So, feeling helpless and lost in a vote of 2-2 the school board was split on whether or not to start passing out birth control pills.
This to me is tantamount to an ostrich putting its head into the ground.
Now, not only an urban problem…the problem of teenage pregnancy is hitting the white suburbs 
with a bang. After all…remember Sarah Palin and her 17 year old daughter…all the way up there in Alaska…facing the same issue. When this issue was one confronting poor people…and mostly non-whites…the issue was lightly 
overlooked…much like the issue of drugs and AIDS used to be…in the beginning…when it only affected the ‘thems’…’those people over there…in the ghetto.’
It seems that when certain issues only affect certain people…nearly everybody in this country finds little effort in turning a blind eye to it and on them…just as long as those issues continue impacting certain people. But like those teens in Massachusetts who made the pact to get pregnant…as if having a baby is a game…which sparked momentary conversations but that was it…don’t let it start hitting them.
But…what?
The lily white areas of Oregon now too?
And evidently…Alaska as well.
Well, now…now…now something really must be done…now.

Today is the 6th anniversary of the Iraq War.
Thank God…for a change.
Six years of suffering and dying…all for what?
What in this world has changed for the better since Bush and his friends decided they were going to strike Iraq?
Nothing.
In fact, things have gotten worst…and in a big way. Everything is costing us far more today than what it did 6 years ago. Many people have lost a son or daughter, niece or nephew…or grand child due to a senseless war that has accomplished nothing but caused more problems…hardships…pain…and hurt in the lives of people around this world…not just here in America.

Blagojevich, Burris, Obama, Palin, Caroline, Tavis… and Jeb
Well, the US House of Representatives has made their voices known and 
they say-
“Impeachment.”
Rod Blagojevich threw away his life by making a foolish and highly selfish mistake…that will see him facing not only legal charges but impeachment removing him from his office as Governor of Illinois. Though Blagojevich has vowed to fight…it is hard to believe that he will have any success since there is hard evidence and audio tapes of him seeking payoffs for his choice to fill the Obama Senate seat.
But the more I see and hear of Roland Burris…no matter how it happened…or the cloud hanging over his head…it seems he is going be a great civil servant for the people of Illinois. He seems to be a highly humble man…and that really speaks volumes for anyone. The people of Illinois should get behind him with all of their support. It is perhaps because of the problems brought about by Blagojevich that caused him to finally chose Roland Burris in the first place.
The Bible does say this-
“That He is working it out for your good.”
I think Illinois may come to agree.

Regarding Al Franken vs Norm Coleman, the incumbent Senator of 
Minnesota. Coleman not being happy at Franken finally being declared the winner of the Minnesota Senate seat has vowed to fight on. All I can say is Minnesotians are funny people…after all they did elect that guy who used to be on WestleMania, Jesse the Ventura.
Wow, if these politicans fought as hard for the people they supposedly went into office to represent…they wouldn’t have to fight so hard to keep their seats. Evidently the good people in Minnesota were not satisfied Coleman. Now, who’s fault is that?

Atheist have gone to court to block Obama from saying at the end of the oath during the Presidential Inaugural…they are seeking to have removed-
“…so help me God.”
It is sad that such a group of people does exist in this world anywhere. That they hate and have such a fear of God…so much so that they can’t even stand to hear the name ‘God’ or read it. That these people look to band even the calling of His name from any and everything where it is publicly displayed or said. Now, how sad is that?
I loved this story…how Marian Robinson, Michelle Obama’s mother, will be joining them in the White House. It is a great story…what a 
family. And they are not ashamed or embarrassed to care about one another…and for each other…no matter what it looks like or sounds like to to others. I admire those Obama’s.
With the schedule that they both will have who better should they leave their little daughters in the care of? And I really do not blame them, neither Obama or his wife, for wanting to ensure that their children were left in the best possible and safest hands in the world…not to mention…loving and caring.
And at 71 this ex-secretary…and current track runner…is being solicited by all kinds of senior groups who are just as excited about her, her children and grand-children…as we all are.

Oh, give me a break. Sarah Palin needs to stop complaining.
The reason 
that Sarah Palin became such a big joke was really one of her own doing. Nobody but Sarah Palin herself decided to go on Saturday Night Live. Who would do that after the jokes they made of her?
And to get upset about something being said about her pregnant daughter… Well… She should have gotten mad at her daughter who did not think that her mother’s public position was a consideration when she decided to lay down and have unprotected sex…or sex at all…knowing what the outcome might be…and ultimately was. She became pregnant. And being a public family such things follow all those who are in the public eye. It is unfortunate…but it goes with the territory.
And for Palin to say that she will be looking how Caroline Kennedy will be treated by the media as Caroline seeks to fill Hillary Clinton’s Senate seat in the State of New York.
How strange of a statement was that?
The first thing that Palin should learn…is this. It is how you walk and carry yourself that matters. The Kennedy’s…none of them have ever carried themselves as a joke. But that is not anything that Palin can say about herself.
I actually think that it is interesting, however, that after having gotten involved in the Obama campaign that Caroline somehow has gotten bitten by that thing which runs strong in the veins of all her family members…politics. I think that in any capacity Caroline works in…she will be an inspiration to all…dedicated and diligent at the job. Having lost so much so early in her young life due to politics…it is amazing at this time she is seeking to do it. What a legacy she would bring to people of the State of New York.
Now, I’m going to go to the Tavis Smiley issue. Everybody knows about 
the controversy prior to Obama becoming the President between Tavis and how Tavis felt about Obama. I mean he was all over the radio and then he hit the TV circuit denouncing Obama. All over Obama not being able to attend his annual conference.
When Obama due to his heavy schedule during the primary or election season of his campaign…Obama offered to send his wife, Michelle, to go to Tavis’ conference in his place…and Tavis said he didn’t want her.
Can you imagine that Tavis said ‘no’ to Michelle Obama coming in place of her husband?
Now, most people would have leaped at that. But nooooo….not Tavis. He was insulted. He became angered. He felt offended…that an affront had been made. And he tried to make it seem that it was to black people…when it was in fact a Tavis Smiley ego issue. And then he started bad mouthing Obama.
Now, he is saying how…we need to help to make Obama a good president.
I find that humorous…and an utterly ridiculous statement…not to mention a slap in face to Obama. Particularily from a man who preceives himself as having a stamp of ‘excellence’ himself. “Good”…
is such a mediocre thang…what happened to ‘great?’ The Bible says that you can judge a man by the thing that proceedeth out of his mouth. It would seem like Jesse Jackson last year…Tavis Smiley still has plenty of problems getting over Obama not being a part of his conference. And the things that proceedeth out of his mouth speak volumes as to who Tavis Smiley truly is.
Obama doesn’t need us ‘to help to make him a good president.’ He didn’t enter that race unequiped to handle the job…nor was he not able to run a great Presidential race…and probably the greatest Presidential race of all times…to get to where he intended on going. And Obama is not going to be just ‘a good president,’ Tavis.
No, Obama will probably be the greatest president that this country has ever had. And those capabilities were born in him…which his mother helped to nourtished within him…and his life experiences did the rest. And he doesn’t need any help from us…you…or anyone else outside of God, his wife and family…and the team he has put in place around him…to be more than capable of handling his duties and responsibilities as President of the United States.
‘Eyes have not seen…nor ears heard’ what works God has put in Obama’s heart for the benefit of this nation…and the world.
And no…I do not believe that Obama is some super human…or a prophet. That would be foolish of me. But who knows…I don’t know…maybe he is. But I do believe that God does rise up men…and women to do phenomenal works…even in ‘such a time as these.’
Grow up, Tavis. You are not a child…everybody has schedule conflicts. I am sure that it has even happened to you.
And oh, yeah….
Jeb Bush for President?
Give me a break.
America is not a monarchy. We have no real dynasties here.
The Presidency of this country is not a ‘rite of passage’ for any family.
Something
is seriously wrong with the Bush family if that is the only way those boys have of proving to their father that they love him. And on top of that it was Jeb Bush in that set-up regime down in Florida…where he had been put strategically in place for the course of actions and events which took place during the 2000 Presidential Election in which his brother stole his way into the White House over Al Gore who should have legitimitely become the President of the United States.
How in the world could that man run this country when he couldn’t even run his own home or oversee his own children. And imagine being paid $474,500–for 13 days of work per year. Oh, yeah…Jeb Bush he’s our man. These people are crooks…just a bunch of out and out theives…that whole Bush family.

Giving Thanks….Sarah Palin (hopefully for the last time)
Well, today is the day before Thanksgiving. And if you are like me, I am sure that you are looking forward to it. Though I will probably be up all night cooking…I am still looking forward to it. Even though by 
the time we finally sit down to eat…I will be too tired to want to eat much. I will still enjoy it…and look very much toward Friday…the day after. And not because the following Friday is a huge shopping day…but because the leftovers always taste better.
I definitely hope that your Thanksgiving will be a joyful one and that you will remember those who may not have all of what you have…or even a portion of it.
Hopefully, if you are a person who feels that there is nothing to be thankful for…but if you have the leisure of reading this then that in of itself is a reason for you to be thankful.
Many times, I have found that we do not take the time to appreciate what we have. Falsely, we are oftentimes too busy thinking about what we don’t have or what we think we want, and therefore we forget or minimize the things that we do have. I have come to learn that this can be a shortcoming and a vast fault in human nature itself. We all from time to time have been quilty of it.
There was a time that I never loved myself. Hated the way I looked…my size…my hair…etc…etc… I never at 
all minded that I was black. In fact, I have always been thankful to be black…I’ve even always thought that I wanted to be darker. A thought I had last night when Michael Jackson ran across my mind…not about being darker but…just about being black.
Imagine if Black folks wanted to be white. Today that technology does exist. I believe that Michael believed that he was going to set a trend in that direction. But it didn’t happen.
For years and years African-Americans, black people had been told that they were too dark. They were called ‘black this’ and ‘black that.’ They were made to feel that their lips were too big…their noses too flat…their butts too big…hair to nappy etc. All of which modern technology has made possible for those people who criticized and told black people that their characteristics and facial features were just not acceptable…and in many cases just plain downright ugly. They degraded us not only for those things but also because of our skin color.
Now, these very people…they spend millions upon millions making surgeons richer than rich to get big 
lips, wide hips, big butts, sun tans…and some even braid or have dread their hair…all for the sake of trying to look more like the very people they once supposedly scorn.
Though I am sure that they would certainly not say that they were opting to go up under all that surgery for the purpose of trying to get ‘black’ or even…that they have or have had any deep hidden desires to look more like black folks. Whatever their driving force the things that they claimed to have hated and dispised about black people’s features and everything else…today they don’t mind shelling out plenty of money with the hope of duplicating.
But that trend has not been in the reverse…though as Michael Jackson proves that technology does exists too. But very few of us have choosen to rush out and change our noses, lighten our skin 
or shrink the size of our lips.
Sorry, Michael…I guess way down deep inside we really didn’t 
buy all that stuff after all. Which is maybe why James Brown’s hit “Say It Loud…I’m Black and I’m Proud” was such a large hit among black folks in the 70s. And then he hit big with “Sex Machine”…and he had to be talkin’ about us when he wrote that one.
But going back to what I was trying to say in the beginning about myself…I never used to love myself because…well, because I just never thought of myself as being ‘pretty’ or ‘attractive’ and certainly never ‘beautiful.’ And of course…every woman wants to feel these things.
I have most been amazed when I have run upon people whom I felt were not attractive…but for 
some reason they seemed to have a far greater sense of being then me…thinking of themselves ‘more’ handsome or ‘more’ beautiful than anyone else. I suspect that these things really are a matter of perspective…and definitely dependent upon who is looking at who. And of course how you perceive you own self.
Over time I have truly come to realize that beauty really is skin deep. And that we all should be very much thankful for what God has given us. Whether it be family, family members, siblings, car, house, job, even our problems…or our perceived problems.
No matter the situation…there is always someone who is in a
worst state of being…who has a worst family (or no family at all)…worst siblings…car that is in worst condition…or house in greater disrepair etc… Or even those who think that she or he is not as smart as…or as pretty as. It is all a matter of perception. If you perceive yourself as being beautiful…then you will be beautiful. And the same thing goes for being smart.
It is kind of like that 
Scarecrow in the moive the ‘Wizard of Oz.’ Just by receiving that piece of paper (that degree) his whole perception of how intelligent and smart he was changed…and he became confident in the knowledge he now felt he 
possessed.
Everybody is attracted to confident people…who are sure about themselves and are grounded in who they are…and exhibit high standards of personal quality.
So, I guess you could say it is a mind thing. Today in my mind my view point of myself is very different from what it had been. I do love myself. Today, sometimes when I a reflection of myself…I smile. I feel I am growing into my looks. And I am highly confident in myself…in my skills, who I am and certainly about the gifts that God has instilled in me. I didn’t have that before…and I never felt I was all that good in anything that I did…though I was told the opposite. And told it often by others…many whom who sought me out to do so. But I just thought that they were being kind.
I love me now. I still may not think I am the best looking…but I feel I have a lot more going for myself than mere looks. .and I really really really…really do.
And you know what?
But this above all I do have…the love of God. I am a good person…who will do nothing for money. And I have never valued money over people.
This is what I think of beauty today…when you want to find real beauty in this world…it can be found in those who have true humility…and those willing to give of themselves for others. That is real beauty to me.
Wow…do I wish I had humility…even just a piece of it.
I have had the pleasure of being in the presence of at least 2 people who possessed true humility…and I have never been the same nor stopped enving them because they possess it and I did not.
True humility has to be the greatest of all things that any person could possess. It far exceeds good looks…it is something with resides on the inside. And there is something very calming and peaceful about it…and those who possess it.
In a few words… ‘Happiness in this world is what we make it.’ We can either choose to be unhappy, sad or depressed all of the time…part of the time…or none of the time. But it is a personal choice…and languishing over such things as physical beauty is an absolute waste of time. As we are in a constant state of evolving…what we looked like 20 years ago is no more and is forever gone. But personal and mental growth is something which we should all always be in search of.
Be safe this holiday season and enjoy your Thanksgiving. Always seek to do good over evil…and stay encouraged.
Now, can I go to Sarah Palin, at least one last time?
It seems to me that the world celebrates mediocrity in ways that it never did before.

On the heels of suffering a lost as Vice President of the United States, Sarah Palin is being hit with a slew of offers from film to television to books. She is reportedly close to closing a $7 million book deal 
about her life. But the problem that I have always had with Sarah Palin is that she was below the standard.
She was a governor from a very large yet isolated state, not populated by very many people. She had a 17 year old daughter who was and may at this time still be pregnant, and out of wedlock. And in my personal opinion, she was a woman who cared less about her family and home life than her own political ambitions and being in the lime light.
I really don’t know many women who when they were pregnant and their amniotic fluids leaking would risk their baby’s life by flying off to conferences or any conventions, as Sarah Palin did. Knowing that her last child was already going to face challenges it is inconceivable to me how Palin would have risked further 
danger upon her then unborn son, Trig. Who ended up being born at least 2 months early…you can read more on this story as I wrote on the topic in more detail in an earlier blog on Palin….@ www.bsmith101.wordpress.com.
Though I have never thought much of Sarah Palin as a Vice Presidential pick…I have certainly thought even less of her as a mother. When you compare just how her children even the baby was dressed when they were paraded out on the world stage..or even the McCain kids for that matter. There was a 
sharp contrast to them and how the Obama children have looked and been dressed.
There is something which can be said for parents who pay close attention to not only their own attire but also to that of their children as well. It shows up…and speaks volumes about those people and the type of parents that they really are.
My parents were somewhat well off. My mother stayed in the stores…she loved to shop…but she also was hard working, as well as, my father. They had 8 children and they worked to ensure that we had everything we needed and most of what we wanted.
My mother had plenty of 
furs and the best of women’s church apparel. She was attactive in our church and a big giver in many ways.
My father equally…he was top shelf too…and always maintained himself very well down to his mustache and the shine of his shoes…and his shoes always shined as he took the time to ensure it before putting them onto his feet. He didn’t just wipe his shoes…he bluffed them…shoeshine rag and all.
But my parents never forgot about us…my brothers stayed in the barber’s chair…my father’s. And we stayed up under 
the comb or curling irons. Our clothes were always clean crisp…as my mother washed every day. She also cooked every day and usually mopped the kitchen floor once everyday…besides hold down her own job as a nurse supervisor. This she did up until the time I became of age and was able to take on certain responsibilities around the house as well. But when Sundays came or special events that called for us to be presentable…we were and without fail…from head to toe.
That is the nature of parents who not only care about themselves and how they look…but also take pride in their family as well. And my parents certainly did. They took great pride in us…and it showed in their care of us but also in the great amounts of money they spent on us.

COUNT DOWN to the White House… Obama and America’s big day…
It’s count down time, baby.
With less than a week to go the campaigns are heating up. McCain has decided to turn up the negatives as he has all the burners working overtime.
It was thought by some that rather than going out looking like a bad looser McCain would opt for the high road. But somehow he has not found that road to be a likable choice for him.
Perhaps John McCain is holding out falsely for what many of the pundits have 
repeatedly chimed, “that the polls could have it all wrong.”
And they might well have. But even so…it still won’t be in McCain’s favor. The likihood is that the pundits have under-estimated ‘the Obama effect’ rather than having not properly measured it all.
There is no doubt that many Americans are fed up with the way things have been going in the country. And that they will show up at voting locations all across this country this coming Tuesday to prove it.
But very little has been said about the Hispanic vote or that of women. During the Primaries they were the ‘hot’ topic…the ‘women’s vote’ and the ‘Hispanic vote.’ But lately we had heard very little about them. I perdict that women will hit the polls like never before as well as the Hispanics…and that they will favor Obama.
I also believe that though McCain may have believed that he had most of the senior votes…he better take another look. They are no fools…look for seniors in very large numbers to be casting their votes for Obama, as well. We’re talking Medicaid, health insurance, foreclosures, gas prices, raising food costs, crashing retirement funds and everything else.
It’s Obama…Obama…Obama, baby. It’s destiny.

Amid all the excitement of the race to the White House this year, I cannot help but think of the news anchor woman, Anne Pressly, who was attacked and has subsequently died. When all this got started she had no idea that she would not be here to see it to conclusion. Nor when she decided to enter into the field of TV Journalism did she realize that one day she was going to be subject of many news stories.
It is but a sad
reminder that we are not promised tomorrow…none of us.
Police said that it appeared to have been a random robbery but she was beaten badly…that would really suggest a bit more than a random robbery.
The police also said that ‘it appeared to be a robbery’ because her purse was taken. But people have become so sophisticated today with all the various television programs from Law & Order and everything else…that they know what to do if they want to throw the police off 
their trail.
It is for this reason I do not believe DNA is a good source for determining whether or not a person is guilty or innocent…as if I couldn’t get a strand of someone’s hair and leave it at the scene of the crime. Based upon that…that person would be doom.
In fact, it takes a whole lot less today to incriminate someone based on DNA. Just yesterday while taking a seat in lab the keyboard to the computer had a long strand of hair attached to it. Wow, imagine if I was a criminal what I couldn’t have done with that?
I deeply feel for this young woman’s family and all victims of crime. There have been many times when I came close…but God said, “no.”
And I am so happy He did…and that He was there to keep me and protect me. Always, right there whenever I have needed Him. Which has been every moment…and second of my life…so
metimes more and sometimes less. But I always needed Him…to be right there in my life…whether I knew it or not. And many times I did not know it.
Since having turned to this topic…let me also express my heartfelt sympathy for the Hudson family due to the terrible events which took place this past week. There are no words…neither rhythm nor reason that can explain it. And there is nothing that time cannot diminish…including pain.

My goodness, what about those cry baby Rupublicans this season?
For years we all watched how the Republicans have out raised and spent the Democratics from one election into the other in terms of money, volunteers etc…etc…etc… Now, the shoe is on the other foot….and all we hear is those Republicans crying about ‘how Obama said he would but he didn’t.’
That is…how Obama said that he would not turn down government funds, which would have seriously limited his spending…whereas McCain took the government money. As well McCain should have…since for the greater part of his campaign McCain has always had problems raising money to finance it.
Obama on the other hand…had no way of knowing before hand, when he made the statement on government financing and accepting those funds, that he was going to raise the money which his campaign has. Meaning Obama has never needed to accept those funds…and McCain did.
So, why 
wouldn’t he have taken the sure money?
Seriously, if you were Barrack Obama…and had been capable of raising more money than the Clinton’s, George Bush and everybody else. Then why would you opt to take the government money that would restrict your campaign to ‘x’ amount of dollars?
It would have been ill-logical…and nobody in their right mind would have done it. Not even McCain if the shoe had been on his foot.
So, Palin and McCain both need to stop crying foul…and all those other Republicans too. Because you would have done the exact same thing…and to say that you would not have is well…. Well…. Well, you would be lying.
This coming Tuesday is coming fast. And I am excited…and I hope that you are too. Please whatever else you may have planned for Tuesday don’t forget to get out and vote…and check to see if anyone around you…or near would like a ride.
Also be sure…just to avoid any undue problems come Tuesday…just drop by your town Voter Registration office and just double check to make sure that everything is okay with your registration. I have had this happen to me twice…and they said it was because we had not returned a census form.
It doesn’t hurt to check so that when Tuesday comes you can get in and out of the your local polls without headache or problems.
