JUANITA BYNUM SPOKE A WORD HERE…

If ever I agree with someone I must say that I certainly agree here.

Yes, it has gone much too too too too far the way that many of the women who called themselves ‘saved’ and are a part of the gospel music world of today.

When you see Shirley Caesar dressing like a fool then you truly know something is wrong.   She was a staple… a solid rock…  a rock … a torch bearer.   But it appears that she too is becoming carried away with the style and attitudes of the world.  And it is very sad.

I have been trying to find that first dress I saw on Yolanda Adams where.  It was utterly ridiculous that I wondered how in the world she had put it without realizing that THAT DRESS was certainly going to start a stir in the black Christian world.   And it must truly have done so… because it is nowhere to be found on the internet.

For years now we have known that a vast majority our gospel singers were interested in crossing over into the secular world.  They looked over and saw the money… the cars… the houses etc… etc… etc.   But if the truth be told the gospel artist who are on top make plenty of money some demanding more than $20,000 a show.

I have paid $4,000 for an act to come in to do a prayer breakfast.  Well, almost we haven’t seal the deal.  I expanded it into doing a concert later that evening.   Because I just could not see myself paying anyone $4,000 just to show up at our prayer breakfast… and then have to fly them in and put them up in a hotel too without getting the full benefit from my investment.

But gospel artist demand a lot of money.   I once over heard my past mumbling after having brought a certain, used to be a bit heavier and fuller breast, gospel singer in.  She demanded a limousine and to stay in a 5 star hotel.

They want to be treated like rock stars… super stars.   Oh, they bring the anointing… 

Well, some of them.   But are they really worth the big ticket many of them want to demand.   I think not.

But it is not a matter of the money which this blog is about… but about their matter of dress.   And it speaks volumes.

The Bible tells us to ‘come out from among them.’   And ‘to be ye transformed.’ 

Then why are some many of our gospel artist negating ‘the word’ to want to become more and more like the world?

It is hard to believe that today we see many gospel female artists who want to dress like Lil’ Kim or Nicki Minaj.

What happen to dressing in a way becoming to a woman… not like a woman trying to sing and sell her wares too?   Because that is very much what it looks like.

They are exposing their breast…  their shoulders… thighs…   legs…. and everything else.

They are getting implants… breast implants… hip and thigh implants  etc.   all designed to make them look more voluptuous.   But didn’t the Bible say that a woman should be modestly dress, as not to draw attention to her body?

But the flesh is alive and well sadly in the gospel world.  And it appears that the more these women show of it the happier they are about it.

SMH…

I didn’t think it was robbery how Mahalia Jackson used to dress… or any of those old gospel women groups.   Even Shirley Caesar… somebody I would have never believed would be trying to follow the ways of this world… is getting into the act, and looking like she enjoys it.

But if the truth be told this trend is showing up in their music too.   Most the music that comes out today is just plain garbage.   And I don’t know who told these so-called song writers that pulling a few words of scripture from Psalms and singing over and over and over and over and over… is really a song or song writing.

What Rev. Timothy Wright’s wife did with ‘Jesus Jesus Jesus’ cannot be duplicated.   And we are told in scripture that there is nothing like the name of Jesus, and this song certainly proved that because I never have to think about the tone or key to sing it… and I feel the power in that song whenever I hear it.

But this other mess or repetitive words is just plain junk for the most part.   It has no power and touches nothing down deep inside you.  It is a key change after key change without any real meaning or significance… not really worth singing and definitely not much worth hearing.   Because there is usually nothing to these songs at all but a waste of time.

I am sorry to see our real song writing in the gospel music world take a decline… and a back seat to this junk of repetitive words which have no anointing whatsoever… outside of Rev.  Timothy’s Wright’s wife song.   It is kind of odd that not much after she had written this song that that fatal accident coming from A.I.M, a Church of God in Christ convention held that year in Detroit… took place in which God took her and a grandson… and not long after her He took the Right Reverend Wright too.   But what a song… and songs they left us with.   And also a firm belief in God… and a knowledge that they were ‘real religious people of God’... not like many of these perpetrating gospel singers ‘wanna be’ secular people of today.

Well, God bless….    Well, it is wet here but my cousin tells me that they are in for snow today.   But it is spring and we are just a couple of weeks away from Easter.

So, let me be the first to wish you a happy and safe Easter.   What a grand time it is as we move forward to celebrating the purpose our Lord and Savor and… to lay down his life that he would rise again… so that we all may have a right to life over death.

JUANITA AT IT AGAIN…

I just happened to be on youtube when I saw this video and decided to click on it to see what Juanita was preaching about… only to be a bit surprised by her new look… and since the video was just uploaded a few days ago it is very much a ‘new look’ for her.   A bit too much plastic surgery for sure… and the make-up does not help.  It only makes her look worst …and again like she is in some kind of spiritual trouble.

I suspect after somewhat watching her transition into this ‘new Juanita’… the 1 before this… it is not hard to see that she has had this thing about how she looked.  It appeared to be some kind of self-hate… or maybe that is too extreme.  Let me say a  dislike for her natural facial features.

Yes, that sounds better.

Looking at the photographs displayed at the beginning of her video… her program intro as this seems to be a new undertaking for Juanita…with  her in a cap and jeans… Juanita seems be trying to recapture her youth… or some kind of teen to 21 hip look or something.

In listening to her video below it appears to me she is trying to join the ranks of Yolanda Adams… Donnie McClurkin, Kirk Franklin, Dorinda Clark and that marymary sister, Erica Campbell… on the radio air-waves with a syndicated national radio broadcast.

But being Juanita… she appears to not only be happy being on the radio air-waves… but also wants to have video live-streaming while she broadcasts her radio show.   And this show… or broadcast… or this video take of it was evidently recorded with a very bad camera with terrible audio… and doesn’t appear to really be a live radio show but a pretense of doing it live in her home.  Nor does it appears to be anything like the Juanita Bynum I have come to know via my observation of her.  She has always been on top of her sound.

If nobody else on the podium sounds good… you can beat she is going to sound great because she leaves nothing to chance when its come the quality of her sound… which is, of course, her money maker.   But no so in these videos.

Now, many thousands of people no longer go into a read radio radio to broadcast their radio shows because technology today has made it so easy to do it that way… if you have
good quality professional or semi-professional equipment… and have someone close to being a professional set it up for you.  You can broadcast from anywhere in the world… even in your bathroom or a cave…  and nobody will know whether it was in or out of a professional broadcasting studio.

But clearly, we can tell that this video tape was done with professional equipment …or some high level recording equipment… camera with a good mic or a mic tied in.

But it is not the technical problems with Juanita’s video … but the evident continued plastic surgery which it appears she is continuing to engage in… and her new hair that she is so busy flinging all over the place… and her body language …and total look of glee that makes you wonder… is she back on drugs?

How could Juanita possible be so happy with her new look… in looking so overjoyed while recording this video.  In which in my opinion she looks far less than her normal self.

Just with all the batting of her eyes so continuously.  And all her what appears continuous movements… and such personal internal glee within herself … you can’t help but wonder is Juanita herself under the spell of drug addiction which she preaches about in the first video. 

After Pastor Zackary Timms being found in a New York hotel dead from a drug overdose… we should all be on the lookout for who else may be in trouble.  We are so busy just listening to these folks and fail to recognize that some of our pastors, evangelists etc. are in trouble.

There were definite signs that Pastor Timms was in trouble.  I can clearly say that.   I will never forget seeing him 1 day leap up on his podium like he was Batman or Superman.  And I recalled thinking where was the reverence to God’s altar in what he had done?

Listen how fast Juanita is talking in her video… all that hyper energy that is clearly displayed.
I once was having a conversation with someone who was talking to me about possible employment.  While speaking with this person someone else was standing nearby observing this conversation.  When we had finished talking and the person had left… the person who had been observing said to me, ‘Did you see how she was moving?   How she never stopped moving?   And how she was talking?’

I said, ‘No.’

I know nothing about addiction.   Or people under addiction.  But the women who had been standing watching that conversation knew plenty about it.  And she began to educate me.

She started saying, ‘Didn’t you notice that she used to be a junkie?  How she rushed through their words while speaking, how her eyes move?  How she could not stand still or sit still

No, I had not noticed… nor did I know how to pick up on those type of things.  I knew nothing about how people show signs of things of addition or past addiction… actions that are not natural for folk normally.  That is exactly what I hear and see in this video of Juanita.  

Juanita is not acting as she normally acts. Her actions and language are out of sync with the Juanita we see displayed in most of her videos… while delivering the word or trying to share thoughts on tv or in her other videos.

No, this is an irrational fidgety Juanita… with eyes that keep rolling and batting uncontrollably… racing through what she is speaking about.  Look at her eyes.  Listen to what she is saying.

Clearly, Juanita is either drunk or high… or maybe both.    All that flinging of hair… particular articulation of certain words… treats of hitting somebody… fast un-expected  jerky erratic movements… and just a pattern of irrational behavior for Juanita … it all clearly says Juanita is very much out of character.  And her in the photo shots in her show intro at the beginning and end of her video …of her in pants and
cap looking very much like Beyonce speaks volumes also.

I am not certain that Juanita has not taken money to promote the music of the artists that she is featuring in her video shows.  But she gives each song’s date when it will be able for purchase, so that might be a hint.

Okay, I’m waiting on a very important telephone call now.  So, I must stop here.  And I am suppose to be editing… so much for that.   But I must go but you enjoy the rest of the week, and have a good weekend.   At some point I hope to find time to talk about Donald Trump… what a mess this whole political cycle has become… 1 big joke if it weren’t so serious.

UPDATE:  September 27, 2016… Truly speaking Juanita Bynum is getting weirder and weirder with each and every 1 of these videos she does.  Note how she grabs hold of her nose as she just finished taking a snort of cocaine or something.

This is a woman who is usually so up on the quality of everything she puts out.  But all these latest videos released by her doing this ‘new thing’ lack her usual attention to detail … particularly when it comes to the audio of these videos.

In the video I just posted below she has a leg up with her legs wide open.  I know …. I’m old school.  But isn’t she representing the Kingdom… is there not proper protocol regarding women and how we sit when in public?  And I really do not understand the new look with regard to her hair.

It really does appear to me that maybe Juanita may be on her way to a crash.  She seems to be slipping… and long ago lost focus.

BLACK FOLK AND PLASTIC SURGERY…. ATLANTA PLASTIC….

I see where soon a new reality show is going to start called ‘ATLANTA PLASTIC.’

Truthfully speaking I fail to see why black folk are starting to jump on this band wagon?

I think we watch far too much TV and salivate far too much over all these so-called stars on these reality shows, who now seem to be creating a new standard as to what black folk should look like… by spending big bucks to go up some plastic surgeon to supposedly make them look like whatever they envision in their heads what they want to look like… down to skin color and everything else.

From NeNe Leakes on down it is far too much.  I happened to catch her just the other day on 1 of those networks where people sell their wares… and her hips were far too out there.  And I think she added lips, had her nose fixed, put in more boobs etc… etc… etc…

Why would I want to do that to myself?

First of all you have to consider that your body is in a consistent state of transitioning.  Your body never stands still.  Your face does not look the same as it did when you were ‘say’ 5 years old.  Your nose changed… eyes changed… your lips may have become fuller or more drawn out… but it is not the same and won’t be same when you hit 70… if you happened to be blessed enough to see 70 or 80.  Because we are continuously changing in terms of our shapes and sizes …and looks and even our heights.  Our body does not stand still and nor does our faces or our boobs …or the lack thereof.

My son and his friends love Tamar Braxton… but what is real about her face.  She looks fake… and I think she added boobs and the works too.

Then there is Wendy who wants everybody to believe she just developed naturally into what she looks like today… but if you could only see what she looked like in college.

So, you guys look at this stuff now and say, “Oh, wow…”

There is so much of it now.  And it is all over the place… and more and more black folk are beginning to lend towards it.

But I wish I could put up on my Facebook page of a picture of the woman who used to be a beautician who decided she was going to get some work done to her body.  It left her paralyzed and unable to work …or to do much of anything else and looking like a disaster.  That’s her is this picture here.

I never really liked what I looked like either… but then who really does as we are growing up?

But now when I see me in a mirror I have to marvel… because I am not half bad and certainly not as bad as I thought I had been.  But I have evolved …and I am yet evolving.  And so are you.

But I have never been into ‘self-hate’ and that is what I think of people who go out and destroy themselves believing they can create through the help of a plastic surgeon a ‘better them.’

There was a time when we used to scoff at people who went out to see plastic surgeons to have work done to themselves.  We laughed at people like Michael Jackson for bleaching their skin… changing their noses … or Janet having a rib removed.  But now black folks are running out like crazy and spending tons of money …on these wacko doctors or so-called doctors… better known as plastic surgeon to get all kinds of work done to themselves from belly tucks, cheekbones added, lipsuction, noses done, jawbones adjusted… etc… etc…   Michael even had a clef added to his chin.

And now this…  ATLANTA PLASTIC.

smh….(for those of you who didn’t understand ‘smh’ …  I’m shaking my head)

All the wrong things are glorified in our culture today.  Just look at the mess that many people are in with all that tattooing.  So many of them have gone so overboard with it they look like Satan worshipers...  which many may well be.

The same thing could be said about piercing… not just your ears but everything else and in between.

It is really far too too too too much.

And here comes ‘ATLANTA PLASTIC’ to put the final nails to the coffin.

The purpose of this show is merely to glorify an already very growing trend among black folk today.  And it is not just in the secular world but also in the gospel and Christian world as well.  Pastors, gospel singers, evangelist etc… etc… etc.. are all indulging in fixing something about themselves from lightening their complexions to reconstructing their faces.  That Paula White you can’t even remember what she used to look like… but it sure wasn’t what she looks like today.  Juanita Bynum is another 1 who has hadtremendous work done on her face.  Bishop Paul Morton’s wife lightened her skin and did some other things to her face like fixed her nose.  That T. L. Penny …lighten herself, added boobs and did some other things too.  Kirk Franklin is said to have had some work done on his face.  And the list goes on and on and on and on…

And this show coming onto TV is going to push those numbers even further… and that is exactly what it has been produced to do… to create a desire in highly impressionable viewers to rush out and get some plastic surgery done on themselves too.  And hopefully… I guess the show wants them to be willing enough to make trips down to Atlanta to get it done.  So, look out for them to be pushing the doctors and exactly what they are supposedly experts at doing.

But I would say don’t fall for it.  There are things in life we are just made to endure… and becoming a mother causes some  leftover tell-tell factors on our bodies… but does that mean we should seeking to bring our bodies back to what it may have been and looked like before that 4th child?

I think not.

Recently I saw Salt and Pepa on an interview and I was shocked to see that Pepa… whom I always thought was beautiful… and ‘I LOVE PEP.’  But I saw that she too had gone up under some surgeon’s knife.   I won’t say what I thought of the after effects because I have always liked Pepa… she’s a very nice person but I really wish she had not gone to see any surgeon regarding her face… even with age she had to look better than what that surgeon left her.

Not really a big reality TV fan… or much of a television watcher anyway… I have no real idea of what Tamar used to look like but I can see that down to their mother they have all gone under the knife… including Toni.

I wouldn’t play with my face or body like that.  There are far too many disaster stories out there for me to consider going up under some plastic surgeon’s knife to cut or change anything about me artificially.  And I am a believer ‘if you are not sick… stay away from doctors… because they will make you sick if you don’t.’ 

And when it goes wrong… it goes wrong.  And there is no way to correct it after you and they… those plastic surgeons have messed you and your body up.

Talking about reality shows… since the 2nd episode of ‘PREACH’ I have yet to see any more episodes.  Did I just happen to miss them or was that show dropped following the first 2 screenings of it on TV?

Well, God bless…. it Friday and I haven’t really been all that busy this week, but I am now beginning to get back into the throws of things.  And it feels good.

I bought myself a blender off of 1 of those shopping networks.  So, I am shifting my eating habits a bit.  When I get out of here I’m going to go buy me some more bananas… or sometime this weekend.  I got a couple of whole pineapples and a can of peaches I’ve been looking forward to mixing up with some crushed ice… which my blender is quite capable of doing just fine.   And I am going to kick up my heels and enjoy the weekend… and I sincerely hope you do the same.

But I do not want to get out of here without making mention of Sandra Bland or Sam Du Bose… 2 very sad situations in the unnecessary deaths of yet 2 more black folk.  Of which I am highly sadden by… and question… and pray comfort and justice to their families… though nothing can give them back what they have lost and that is their love ones senselessly…

WHAT IS ALL THE HYPE ABOUT??? WHO IS EDWARD SNOWDEN…

Concerning that guy held up in Russia.  The 1 who supposedly spilled all the beans on the U.S. eavesdropping on its citizens.

I really don’t get it.  Didn’t George Orwell spill the beans on that years ago, when he wrote that book that Big Brother was watching us… or would be.  Since the book was futuristic.

So, the future has arrived and we find that the United States and probably every other country on this planet, with any kind of good sense is listening in on its citizens.  Lets face it in the world that we live in today… it probably is a good thing that somebody other than thieves, murders… spies… rapists and espionage people etc. may or may not be listening in.

Oftentimes it appears that the wrong parties have the upper hand.   In watching some of these television shows a lot more contracts would be put out for somebody to kill his or her husband or wife over the phone… or some other kinds of craziness… if they didn’t believe somebody might be listening in.

We live in a time of great peril.  Hadn’t you heard, ‘Evil is everywhere?’

When George Orwell wrote ‘1984’ few people would have believed that 1 person would have be able to predict so much in our changing times that would someday come to pass.  But Orwell did.

Was he a prophet?

Or was he just a person with a keen sense of being able to look at things as they were, and then be able to assess how they would be some time in the distant future?

When Orwell wrote ‘1984’ it was just 1949.  What had been going on in the world then?

Had the first man walked in space by then?

No.

Had Kennedy been elected?

No.

So, what was happening in 1949 that Orwell could sit down somewhere and write a book called, 1984, that predicted events and changes in the world which did eventually come about?

One major thing was television.  Electronic gadgets were starting to come into the market.  The first commercial computer was introduced… didn’t do well and wasn’t well received.  But it was there.

Color came into the homes when RCA developed the first colorized television set.  China became a communist country and Russia unleashed the making of its first atomic bomb.  Family incomes were growing, consumer purchases were sky rocketing, and the U.S. had emerged out of the Great Depression… and the 2nd World War had come to an end, 4 years earlier in 1945.

Undoubtedly, the U.S. at this point had emerged as a great World power.  The Cold War between Russia and America was fully under way, and America’s Allies and its strength was growing.  The C.I.A. was becoming active in aiding in setting up governments, and placing men of soon-to-be-power into power around the world.  And Orwell was a journalist working for the BBC… the British Broadcasting Company.

When Orwell, a British Subject, as they say… and working for the BBC… wrote ‘1984’ he depicted a world run by a government that was omnipresent… observing all its people at all times… an existence totally politically directed by those in control…and where Big Brother’s eyes and ears were everywhere… an ever present force.

When you go outside today… out to the street and look up you see cameras on the street lights… hanging off of roof tops.  They even tiny little cameras and mics that can be placed into very unsuspecting places… even in public places all about.  Places like hotels… lobbies… even bathrooms… school rooms… commuter rails… even on someone’s person… etc.   Therefore, it should not surprise you that you are being recorded… or your actions watched.   We all have watched enough TV to see how detectives can go and acquire video footage from surveillance cameras in lobbies… parking lots etc… in order to aid them in tracking down criminals.  Cabs have them… police cars have them… and sometimes full camera crews.

If they can use such equipment to observe and track criminals… what made you think it could not be used to observe you too?

I was surprised when someone told me that all I had to do was Google my address… and see what came up.  What came up was not just a picture… but a whole satellite viewing of where I live… up and down my street… all around my house.

Then take for instance GPS systems… they can tell your whereabouts at any given time.  You use them as directional devices, but that directional device can be used to track you.  Such devices are embedded inside vehicles too by manufacturers.  So, if you fail to make your monthly payment they no longer have to search or try to figure out where you are… if you are trying to avoid repossession.  No, not any more.  They can push it up on a computer and come right to where you are… wherever that it .  And no matter where that is they will take possession of their property, depriving you of a vehicle until payment and fees are paid in full.

Rental cars too have embedded in them the same thing.  So that if a car is not returned timely the rental agency can go and get their property, as well.

When I read things on the social network it amazes me just how much information people share over such public outlets as the internet.  They list their jobs… home address… phone numbers… email addresses… schools they went to… towns they live in… had lived in… show pictures of their children… list the names of their relatives… and show their pictures etc…

When Edward Snowden decided that he could no longer work for whatever governmental agency that had hired him here in the U.S.A… because his conscious bothered him concerning how this government is secretly listening in on conversations of American citizens… my only question that came to mind was this…

Out of all the countries Snowden could have ran away to… why Russia?

I have heard people speak of Russia… ex-citizens of that country.  And that government routinely indulges in practices that cannot even begin to come close to just listening in on its citizens conversations.

I was sitting in one of my college classes once… which wasn’t so very long ago contrary to popular belief… and this Russian woman came into our class to visit and speak about her country.  She was a guest of our Professor.  She spoke of how in Russia you could not just go into business unless the government allowed you.  She talked about how the Russian government controlled the newspapers and television… all the media outlets in Russia.  And how everyone there… in Russia was under the restraint and control of the Russian government.

So, isn’t it ironic to anyone outside of myself… did you not think it strange that Edward Snowden would have ran from Japan to go to Russia trying to seek asylum there?

It is very contradictory at the very least.

We are living in the turmoils of the many diverse problems in this world today, which include bombing of public places to kill and/or hurt as many people as possible.

I am one who believes that if the crooks and hackers can assess our systems, read our emails, go into our accounts… listen in on our conversations, go up over the internet to case our exact location and homes… apartments… where we eat… what we buy… then why would Snowden’s disclosure that our government is doing it… be of any great surprise or shock to me or any one of us?

It wasn’t… least ways not to me.   I was never upset when after 911 they started stopping subway trains in New York City to do random bomb searches.  And neither were any of the other passengers on the subways I rode with… we all understood the times we had just stepped into when the Twin Towers came tumbling down after being flown into by those 2 airplanes.

Why should I be?

Being held up for those searches we all understood… as we knew they were trying to protect us.  Save more people from being killed senselessly.  So, if the government has taken to listening in on phone calls and watching people… whose fault is that?

Whose fault?

The perpetrators.  Clearly, they would love our government to sit back and do nothing… but wait until the next strike comes… like helpless children.

Did not some kind of plan have to go into effect in defense of people possibly flooding into America to destroy her, and those of us who live here.

Yes, I do believe that Snowden should be prosecuted.  Because he chose that job.  I am sure that he was not brought into that job without the U.S. government informing him that he was going to come in contact with highly classified information.  And based upon that… and I would have to believe that any oath he may have taken in order to obtain that job… which I assume paid Ed Snowden royally… he had a duty and responsibility to live up to.  Up to the secrecy and security that that position called for him to maintain.

Information that has to do with the security of our country, and the means by which that information is extracted should be left to those who are the safe-keepers.  However, should methods and techniques such as using undue force, harassment and intimidation etc. to acquire that information… those things I am totally and 100 per-cent against.  And these are things that I hope anyone being party do bring forward… but I cannot put listening-in-on… upon that same level.

Now, had Snowden’s information been of something along the nature that may have caused mass harm or life threatening… like say the government was doing something that was detrimental to us… our health and/or welfare then I would weigh in on Snowden’s right of consciousness to do the right thing by disclosing that info to us.  But to merely tell us that we are being listening in on by the government…  No, that information played more to divulging our country’s security practices, more than any personal life threatening issues that we all needed to be made aware of.

I cannot begin to tell you the number of times I called the New York Telephone company to complain about other people being on my phone line.  I could hear whole 2-way conversations.  And I was sure that they could do the same when it came to my calls.

There was a time in this country and most countries, I suspect… when telephones first got started that there were nothing but what they then called ‘party-lines.’  Telephone lines where you could pick up the phone and if someone was on that line talking to someone else, you just hung up and waited until you could get a clear line.  So, the ability to listen in on phone lines… and phone calls has a very long history, which dates back to the beginning of telephone service.

Lets face it,  we are all aware that most of the phone lines and/or computer internet lines that we work on and/or talk over, and text over are not secure.  In fact, when the portable phones came into being… you remember those cordless phones with the long antennas.  Everybody knew that you could be listened in on at any given time, due to the lines crossing, by anybody in your neighborhood.

I frankly do not know anyone who talks about anything really important over a telephone… or in an email… or in a text.

We all of us…   Or should I say most of us remember that it was text messages that brought down the Mayor of Detroit in his escapades with his Office Administrator, Kwame Kilpatrick.

So, then how important was Snowden’s disclosure?

Not very.  It just let out of the bag… and made public to all the world something that most people already understood to be happening or could possibly be happening anytime they picked up a telephone or cell phone to use it.

I would imagine that you would be very hard press at these times to find any country that is not using some type of surveillance system and/or listening devices in order to stem the tide of bombings, country take overs, aid in fighting against drugs and/or corruptness on ever level everywhere.

George Orwell when he wrote his book, 1984, saw many things.  But he did not see the changes that would become necessary in a world that man would turn against man, for no unknown reason… or a just cause.  Outside of shear hatred of a culture… and the freedoms of 1 country over another.  Or a right to practice a different religion.

Snowden a 30 year old ex-C.I.A and National Security Agency employee leaked details on several top secret United States and British surveillance intelligence.  A proclaimed Buddhist and whistle blower, Snowden grew up primary in North Carolina.  And when all of this broken… this story on U.S.A secret surveillance programs… and about Snowden turning over these highly confidential government secrets, he had been assigned to a U.S. post in Japan, where which he later fled to Russia seeking asylum from the United States as a spy… espionage and theft of government information.

Well, God bless…  Well, I’ve got to run.  I’ve noticed that the campuses are starting to come alive again.  Saw a few school buses drive pass me today… a clear signal that school is just about in again.  Hope you enjoy the rest of your week.  The weather here is beautiful.  Such a relief from all the tremendous heat we had been going through.

UPDATE: THURSDAY, AUGUST 6, 2013…  Russia has now given asylum to Snowden.  Supposedly it is for a year.   But some South American country had offered Snowden asylum prior… but Snowden did not accept it.

It all strikes me as being a bit too odd.  Why would this guy want to defect to Russia… of all places?

If he is so big on human right… the right of the public citizens… our right to not have government listening in on our conversations… then why choose Russia, of all places?

I am beginning to believe that Snowden was… and is a Russian spy.   From the very beginning this guy was a little to shady, as they say in ‘the hood.’  First he was ‘anonymous.‘  Then he ran away getting as quickly as he could to Russia?

This whole supposed whistle-blowing thing… I believe it will be proven to have been some kind of  a scheme, cooked up as a well thought out plan for Snowden to have released American Intelligence claiming it was due to  his conscience bothering him over what the American Government was doing.  When it was nothing more than sheer just fabrication on his part and those working with him, to cover-up who Snowden really is… and just who he was really working for in the first place.

Truthfully speaking if they found out today that this whole thing was just 1 big fat lie… I would not be surprised.

Who in their right mind defects to Russia… a country with a history of routinely victimizing its citizens and invading their privacy?

Something is way out of whack here.  And it just does not smell right.

PLASTIC SURGERY AND CHURCH PEOPLE… AND BLEACHING…

When you look at all the blotched plastic surgeries made to people faces and body why would you want to risk it?

And I mean some real BLOTCHES.

But it appears that plastic surgery and bleaching, lightening your skin color, is growing ever more popular among church people these days.  And especially amongst women in the pulpit.

I was on YouTube recently watching some videos a week or so ago, and I came upon this woman by the name T. L. Penny, whom I think can really peach.  Well, she could at 1 point.  But I don’t think she is as good as she used to be when I first heard her.  But in watching that video something suddenly struck me.  At first I did not notice it… but then it finally hit me.  I thought she had been darker.

So, I went back to look at some older videos of her on YouTube.  Low and behold, I was right.  She had been darker before.

Look at the distinct difference in her nose, her lips and other facial features.  It is not hard to see that Pastor Penny must have decided to go all the way, and did not just stop at the bleaching of her skin.

The peculiar part about T. L. Penny is this.   I had gone up over her website when I initially ran across her over the internet… which  is something I just do… and often.  I like to check out various websites all the time as I come across them and/or their links.

I like checking out my competition… meaning other graphic artists work… their layout and designs etc.  So, while viewing T. L. Penny’s site she had this picture of herself.  Which, of course, there is nothing big about having a picture of yourself on your site, as everybody usually has a picture or 2 if not more of them-self on their websites.    But, however, I though it a bit peculiar at the time, because the picture looked nothing like T. L. Penny.   It looked nothing like the woman in the video, whose link I had just come across on YouTube.

So, yeah it struck me as being odd that someone would have a website and would have posted a picture that looked nothing at all like them… with not 1 other picture of herself on that website anywhere of her otherwise.  But at that time I just rationalized that T. L. Penny liked that picture so she posted it.  This mind you was long before her plastic surgery and the bleaching of her skin had taken place.  That picture at that time, however, is today very close to what T. L. Penny has managed to have transformed herself into looking like… thanks to some aid from a surgeon somewhere.  So, I guess at that time that I saw that picture, she was speaking it into the atmosphere… and had been saving the money to get it done.

This had been about the third time while watching something on YouTube  that I have happened to notice that somebody in ministry… mostly women… had become bleachers… and/or had otherwise gone under a plastic surgeon’s knife.  And the list seems to be growing.

Not too long ago I noticed this about a very prominent Bishop’s wife.  I could see that she had both bleached, and also had some plastic surgery work done.  That was Bishop Paul Morton’s wife, Debra B. Morton.  She appears to have made herself younger… lighter, and also had some things done to enhance her looks.

Also, a while back.. a few years back to be exact… I had noticed that Paula White, Pastor Paula… had also gone under the plastic surgeon’s knife.  I saw it right off when first began transitioning from what she used to look like to what she looks like today.  In fact, shortly after that transformation I had read that both Paula White and her husband at the time, Randy White… had both gone under the knife, and were then being investigated for misusing church funds to do it.  As well as, having made numerous other type of purchases with church money.

It is amazing to me that these people profess to love the Lord… and all that He has done.  Can quote how when God finished His work in Genesis.  How He called it all good.  And then at the very end of all that He had done He called it all ‘very good.’

Then if God feels that when He has created something that it is good, who are we to believe we can come behind Him and improve upon what God has done?

Don’t they believe that God has created them as He would have them to be?

And let me ask you this question…

If God has created it…  should be messing with it?

And I mean anything… everything which God has created… should we messing with any of it… believing we can do it better… or enhance it?

Man has corrupted all of what we now eat.  Our water… the rain… the ground… the food… the cattle… herds… produce…  the atmosphere… EVERYTHING.   And we cannot undo it.

None of the food or vegetables we eat taste like what it used to taste like some 10 or 20… or 30  or 40 years ago.  Man has tainted everything.  And man has done it believing that he can out do God.  Which is impossible.

So, here are some prominent church people… and they believe that their plastic surgeons can improve upon what God has already done.  Let us see what time will have to say about this matter.  Because just like Michael Jackson… I believe there will come a day when these people will not be able to walk out their front door exposing their faces.  Because they will come to look so hideous.

Our faces and even our bodies are in a constant evolution.  They do not stay the same.  They are not the same as they were when we were born, and they will not be the same when we die.  So, if the aging process continually is changing our faces, how can surgery on your face or body at a any point in your life not also be subject to life changes?

They have to be aware of this.  So, being aware… because they have to be aware of this.  So, being aware of this they still want to subject themselves to the possibility of ending up 1 big grotesque mess.  Because they played with something they should not have.

Me… I would not do it.  I just would not do it.  And that is not to say that I ever liked anything about me.  But over time I can see where time has made a pleasant difference in my overall appearance.

I never realized that even Kirk Franklin had paid a visit to the plastic surgeon.  And who knows who else.  There are so many of them… many in the recording industry.

Pastor Jackie McCullough appears to have gotten into the bleaching swing.  Something which many in Africa and in the West Indies seem to be indulging in.

Like Cindy Trimm and Juanita Bynum many women of the Cloth are electing go up under a plastic surgeon’s knife and/or bleach their skin in order to achieve something they undoubtedly longed for.  Beauty.  And don’t mind paying for it.

But beauty is elusive.  And it is not long lasting… and desire of it really stems from vanity …and also covetousness.

It was Solomon who spoke of vanity.  I guess he was not called the wisest man for nothing.  There is truly a lot to be said about vanity… and it is going on in the pulpit.  And these plastic surgeons are reaping the benefits of it.

To bad all that money is not going towards feeding the poor… or trying to clothe them.  Or maybe even trying to aid in supplying housing for the needy… the fatherless or the motherless.

What does this signify for the church?

Or to the young women in the church… whom we are supposed to teaching ‘to love themselves?’

I came across this picture of T. L. Penny and had to include it.

This apparel strikes as something contradictory to real gospel teaching.

What could have possessed this so-called preacher to dress like this?

This is the dress she wore as the Mother of the Bride.  Not only were her breast exposed… but take a look at how short the skirt was.

I don’t know what I’m talking about.

SKIRT???

She has on no clothes… as my father would say.  She really isn’t wearing anything up top.

I’m just wondering if  was she out working on getting herself a husband?

Or just looking for somebody to go home with?

Definitely not somebody who I would turn to for ministry… or even to attempt to correct me.  Or try to show me how to live.

I just keep coming back to this picture.  I can’t believe that any woman who calls herself in service for the Lord would wear such a thing.  I am also wondering if you got implants, as well, to her breast.  Can’t think of any other reason to want to dress wearing something like what she has on in this picture… unless she did.

Now, that I think of it… it reminds me of another YouTube video I saw.  It was video of a prostitute… with her nipples exposed talking about the Lord.

Unbelievable…  Truly diverse times.

It’s not all about me… or you… Good & Evil… Pastor Sheryl Brady’s new home… women in ministry…

Pop culture I guess has its place  but in glancing back at some of the title of  blogs I have written…it strikes me that most of them are sheer junk.

What do I care about Mary J’s hair styles?

Or whether or not Venus wants to show her behind off during the recent tennis tournament in Paris?

Can’t even think of  it’s name now…that’s how  much it really matters to me.

Or what about this…

Why should I care whether or not Gary Coleman was murdered or not?

Because…   Well, because I guess way down deep there is a part of me that does care.   Though recently I was called non-caring…  selfish…  self-centered…  and not kind.  Now, that really hurt.  

I’m not kind?

I’M NOT KIND???????

How dare anybody tell me that I am not kind.  All the money I have spent.  All the things I have done.   And they say-

“I’m not kind?”

This has been eating at me since I heard it.  Which was roughly about 3 weeks ago at my brother’s graduation.  But I have just been trying to play it off…like it didn’t bother me.  But somewhere back there in the far crevices of my mind it has lingered.  Periodically it would pop up and I would push it back out of my mind.  And I would just refuse to acknowledge it…or that it even really mattered to me to have heard that.

But it did.

My weapon against it came to mind from Biblical text… how the Bible says that they will call evil good …and good evil.

Well, why not?

It seemed to fit… and fit perfectly.  I after all I do not consider myself to be a bad …mean …or even an evil person.

Yes, I have had to do some things.  But never without cause or justification.  Some I didn’t want to do… but I did it thinking I was forced to. 

So, then too as many people as I have given to… poured out myself  to …gave to when I didn’t have it to give…   Then so… how is it that I should be considered ‘not the kind one?’

Well, if you give from the heart you do not walk around talking about your giving.  You just give.

You give because you see that somebody needs.  You give because you are compelled to… and you respond to the force which compels you to do so.  You give without expecting anything in return.  You give not seeking a slap on the back or a pat on the hand.  You just give… because-   Well, because there was something you saw… you sensed…   you witnessed… and your heart opened up …and you just gave.

It could have been a word… that is what they call ‘a kind word.’   Or it could have been financial.  Or it could have been of  your time  …or a token of your wisdom… if you have some.   But you gave it to meet a need in someone else.

And so, at the end of the day you do it without seeking fame or glory.

So, yes.   From time to time you are bound to be not called ‘the nice one’  or ‘the kind one.’   Because you gave while no one was looking …and you weren’t looking for them to be so… being you sought not recognition.  You just gave…and it made somebody’s day… and probably your’s too.

So, it’s not all about me …or you either.  It is about others.

And who cares whether others recognize your giving …or your caring …or your kindness …or the level of outpouring you share with and to others.

But God knows.   And in the end that is all that matters.

God bless… and do what you can… for others.  And forget about what is …or is not being said about you.

It really doesn’t matter.  It truly doesn’t.  And now that I have said all of that… I don’t know why it bothered me so much …not being called ‘the nice one.’   Or was it ‘the kind one?’

I really can’t even remember now.  But boy did it eat at me.   But now God has spoken into my spirit …and after writing this …releasing all those feelings of self-evaluation and trying to figure out why I was not being called ‘the nice one’ …or was it  ‘the…-‘

Oh, never mind.

I am just going to work to be better …and increase my caring and giving.  And give from my heart and not expect anything back, including somebody calling me ‘the nice one’  …or is it  ‘the…-‘

It is truly not important.  And I thank you for listening while I sorted this all out.  Because it really really isn’t about me.

And I do mean shorrrrrrt.

When she is not going on and on with all that foul language she can be pretty funny.   But she and Sade were quite adorable in that little skit don’t you think?

Now, on to this.

I fell to sleep messing around with my son’s laptop computer last night and woke up listening to Pastor Sheryl Brady preaching on the Word Network, a religious television channel.  I guess it was her excitement that woke me up.  She was bubbling over with glee about having  moved to Texas, and becoming part of  Bishop T.D. Jakes’ ministry as pastors under him, she and her husband, of a North campus addition of the Potter’s House.

As I listened to her it struck me as being odd.  Because I could not understand.  Was she saying that she had left her own church… as in deserting it… and them…those people who had joined her church, the River Church, down there in Durham, North Carolina?

And was she saying that she was now in Texas serving up under Jakes?

Yes, it struck me as odd, indeed.

Because for 1 I just could not… and do not understand what could have precipitated such a drastic decision or move?

Having heard Paula White on several occasions call T.D. Jakes her spiritual father… who played a great role in bringing her onto the national scene via his used to be annual event called ‘Woman Thou Art Loose.’  No where as near well known or as popular on the higher national church preaching plain… one has to wonder if  the switch to come up under Bishop Jake was due to a desire on the part of  Pastor Sheryl Brady, to emerge on a higher level of  the national urban religious scene… if you care to call them that.  Or more simply state… preachers that appeal to the vast numbers of African American worshippers.

While in this exchange Bishop Jakes also adds to his cross-over appeal by appointing Brady and her husband, who are white,  as the head of  one of  his churches.  With Allen, TX as the place where they are now currently ministering… having a population of about 83,000, whose income is for the most part  upward to $188,000/per year and beyond.  Which might answer why he offered the Brady’s that location as opposed to opening up a Potter’s House extension in North Carolina, where they came from…or somewhere in ‘the hood,’ meaning where more black folks are.

Speaking of which… ‘Woman Thou Art Loose’ that is.   I was privy to being at the last one to be held in Houston, TX, 2003.  It was the one where Juanita Bynum came and got down on her knees apologizing to both Bishop Jakes and his wife regarding her falling out with them… which had ended up with her going into court against him claiming that ‘Woman Thou Art Loose’ was her brain child, and I guess some other things as well.

I do not know how the law thing worked out.  As at the time I was not saved or following such things, and I knew nothing about either of them really.  Nor was I following anything religious at that time… far from it.  Thank God…I can say differently today.

But I enjoyed that conference very much that September of 2003 in Houston.  I was quite impressed by the entire operation… and boy was it well organized.  I sat though it taking all kinds of mental notes… from the camera layouts…to how the  camera  jibs swinging high in the air above the crowd grabbed all the great shots.   It was crowded in that arena… packed in fact…and it was not a small place with its retracting roof.

It was loaded with women…upstairs…down stairs…all aound…from corner to corner… and all on the main floor… all hotels had been solidly booked  and sold out.  Women  had travelled from all over the world to be there…Africa… Germany… France… LA… Boston… and Brooklyn… etc…etc…  And many of  them were annual re-turners… women who organized their schedules year in and out just to be in the midst of ‘Woman Thou Art Loose.’

And it was worth doing so.

I was amazed… even down to the short-circuit tv cameras beaming the services out to women in prison…  and giving us an occasional view of  them cuddled around tv screens watching us and listening to the mighty women who  walked  and talked upon that stage.

It really was something.  And if  they had not moved the event to Atlanta and mixing it with the men …and children …I would have certainly considered returning again and again to Houston myself.

But what I really recall is how I listened and watched Juanita Bynum preach about how big-headed she had become… and how she blamed it all upon listening to others.  While I watched it I knew I had become a part of something special.

How many people go back and get before a packed out arena to cry and declare ‘I was wrong and out of order.’ 

When she got through there was not a dry eye in the house.  And I was crying right along with all the rest of them.  T.D. Jakes was crying… his wife was crying… Paula White was crying… her husband was crying…  Everybody in the place… and all on that platform was crying.  And yet I wondered if  what I was watching was real?

And no sooner had T.D. Jakes poured that oil and anointed her, Juanita got up and quickly proclaimed to every woman who had a checkbook to write a check for $100.

So, I wondered how could she go from crying and begging forgiveness to so quickly switching gears and start demeaning money?

And did those women do exactly what she told them to do.  They got on the elevators… ran down several flights of staircases and swarmed the arena floor rushing  the stage with their checks in hand.

And what a mad rush it was.  With checks waving all in the air.  Checkbooks open… running…weeping women… charging forward… women running towards that stage and trying to fill out their checks all at the same time, while trying to not get knocked down by the droves of  other women doing exactly the same thing.

So, I have no doubt that the fame …and glory of it had a lot to do with it.  With the Brady’s quick departure from North Carolina to the green lawns and fresh humid Texas air in Allen.

Now, that I think about it… it might have been a $1000 that Juanita told them to bring and lay it upon the altar.  I can still hear her saying-

“Come now!  I don’t care where you are come now!”

And they came.  While I on the other hand was going in the opposite direction.

Well, I better get off this computer.  I’ve got a studio shoot tomorrow… and I do not know about you…   But for some reason there just never seems to be enough time in my schedule any more.  Time is truly flying by us.  We go from one week into another without any real lapse of time it seems.  Before I know it…it is Friday again… then Monday and the week is done.  Just like that.

I may well be at the Book Festival with my book, THE BISHOP’S WIFE,  this year as I just got my invitation from them.  And also from the LA Book Festival… it seems that I just might get around to doing some book touring this year after all.

It is not like I haven’t been planning for it.  But it is like I said time is flying.  And all my other obligations are definitely keeping me busy.  Maybe by this weekend at least an ‘in construction page’ may be up on my website page.  And hopefully the links will work.

I am working on it.  Because I have noticed that some of you have started looking for it.  So, let me assure you that it is sooooon coming, praise the Lord.

Black History Month…fakes…and the church…

Now I know that it is Black History Month and that I have been kind of quiet for this month.  But I now no longer write a blog…and I guess this is true too for the earlier ones as well…unless I really have something to say.  So, I guess it was that I just had more to say on things earlier when I initially started blogging then I now do…which is why I wrote them more often then. 

But I am nonetheless highly opinoinated…I guess you might be able to tell that.  So, while I was kicking up my heels and waiting on something to come in the mail…while searching over the web I came across this video and…and… Well, it has stirred  me to write something.

Knowing that I am saved…as I am sure that you must know by now.  Least ways I hope you have gathered that.  I would like to think that my light is shinning in everything I have written over this site.  And of course…my being being saved is not a state that I have always been….but it has been so  for a few years now.

Most recently God spoke into my heart to not sit back and keep quiet on everything.  So, thus…I speak on some things when moviated by a strong opinion regarding that subject or thing which sparks me to do so.

Now, having said that I could not see this video clip without commenting on it.  I believe in truth…and hate any form of mis-information.  Some people really hold onto things that people tell them…and they take it for truth when it is very much not.  And very far from it.

You view this video and you tell me what you think.

There is a folley is loving  yourself  too much.  And believing that you know all the answers…and particularly when you think that the mis-information that you dish out is correct.

There is no way that partying in the form as is expressed in the above video is correct.  And to refer to when David danced…and compare it to a ‘male stripper’  is insane.

But the devil’s children know scripture…they are great deceivers who love to call upon the Word of the Lord to make their points. 

In downtown Brooklyn near Fulton Street and Flatbush Avenue …it is not uncommon to see and hear the 5 percenter’s…or the 10 percenters…or the 12 tribes of  Israel…or whatever they call themselves.  It is a group of  about 5 to 8 black guys dressed in olden day garments…as in the anicent times of  Moses…standing on soap boxes (milk crates) chanting about their god…and refering to the Bible as a means of discrediting Jesus and Biblical text. 

Whenever I heard  them saying stuff that was wrong…and though I didn’t know the Bible and certainly not any of  its Biblical texts…but I grew up in church.   So, I always felt that someone in those crowds…and there was always a crowd gathered around them as they spoke.  I just felt that someone should have challenged them…and countered them.  Somebody had to know scripture…so that they could have said something…but no one ever did.  So, day after day…those guys stood out there on the corner of  downtown Brooklyn dispelling lies…and falsehoods without any correction.

I now have learned a few things…not as much as most…but even so I refuse to let anything I see or hear and know that it is wrong go without me saying something.  I just cannot.

Hence, my response to the above video by this young woman named Ty Adams.  I have seen a few other videos of  her’s over the internet…and know that she considers herself to be a Christian lecturer, teacher, conference speaker…and I guess you could say possibly even some kind of  ‘life coach’ on relationships. 

To top it off she calls herself…’Dr Ty.’   There are a lot people in the church today who have given themselves this  title…doctor.  Guess it sounds good to their ears.  Juanita Bynum along with a few others…have done so as well.  But when you go to read their bio info there is no mention of an institution to go along with their title.  They just like the way it sounds…and to some degree it elevates them to a higher status…adds more credibility or something.

Yet, in the church  you will hear them say…‘it’s not all about titles.’   But it seems that everybody wants one.  Christina Glenn claims she earned her’s in some collage in India…I just had to look it up.  And if  push comes to shove…you can always buy one…there are plenty of  services that will sell you a doctorate title…which is more like ‘give you one’…if you get that hard pressed for  to have one.

But going back to sister Ty. 

How in the world can anyone be paying this woman to come to their converence looking…and dressing…and talking as she talks?

There is no such thing as a ‘saved club.’   And yes…clubs are something which the kids of  that other guy…not God’s kids…or followers of  Jesus created.  Club are dens of  iniquity.  The purpose for clubs is for sinners to gather like Christians go to church.  But instead of worshipping and praising God…sinners go in to clubs to sin.  They go looking for sexual partners…somebody to rub up against…somebody who can dance and make them look good.  It is a place where they can drink and carry on…and have all kinds of  loose and ungodly conversations while listening to ungodly music. 

I know all about clubs because I owned one…it was a lesbian club…but I owned it nevertheless.

Tell me what real church song can you get up and slow drag to?

And clubs have almost always been for single people…somebody looking for somebody.  Because most people who have somebody do not frequent clubs regularly.  And do not want to hear that their husbands or wives are…because everybody knows what goes on in clubs…and why people seek them out.

So, then why would this ‘new group’ of  so-called saints call it alright to party…and hangout at a club?

Because they have leaned to their own understanding.

 There are some things that some people are just not willing to give up.  They want to cuss and everything else…take a look at these videos below.

One of the worst things that could have happened for some of  these co-called preachers and teachers…is their decision to get into media…and put their ministry where the world can view them…so we can all see and hear them for ourselves…and come to know who is or who is not of  Christ.

One of the biggest jokes…and it is really not funny.   But it  is the River Church in Durham, NC…where Sheryl Brady’s husband…bishop whatever his name is…can be seen turning their church service  into a 3 ring circus from Sunday to Sunday…and I guess in whatever other services they may have. 

Who wouldn’t go to a church where the pastor pulls out a thick wad of  hundred dollar bills every Sunday…passing them out like water.  Sometimes 3 and 4 of  them at a time while telling people to pull out their money and bless one another with it…as he ocassionaly calls someone up and starts handing out a few notes  of his own.  But never the whole thing…just enough to entice his membership.

How many ink pens have you owned?

And how many of them have gotten away from you…got lost or somehow walked away from you?

Aren’t you glad it wasn’t a $5,000 pen?

What is happening to the church?

Preachers are not acting like preachers any more. 

What is happening to us?

Most recently I myself  had a run in with a preacher.  He is currently the pastor of our church.   I had noticed that he began to act a little bit too friendly towards me.  While trying my best to stay away from him…he became more aggressive….blatant in fact in his actions.

When I thought I had worked out the perfect plan…this guy…the pastor…and I refuse to call him ‘our’ pastor.  Well, this guy always seemed to be one step ahead of me.

When I told my son to give me the keys to the car so I could sneak out of  church just before service ended…wouldn’t you know it…here comes the guy down the center aisle of  the church.  It was just before he was to get up and preach…and he came down the center aisle stopping at me.  He bent down and rested his forehead against mine with his nose touching mine…as if we were alone and in bed together.

I was…I was totally shocked…dismayed…and angered by it.  How dare this guy embarrass me like that.  I was fuming…and I was so for weeks upon weeks.  I could not believe such a thing had happened…and right there in the midst of  the whole church while service was going on.

My son kept telling me that I was reading too much in it.

“Awh, ma…he does that with everybody.”

YEAH…right.

And if  he did…then he was out of order then too…and somebody should have told him so long ago.`

How can people sit in church and allow their pastors to do whatever it is that they want without anyone questioning him or challenging him or her on it?

I had  just started returning back to this church after being away…after living out of  town for years.  I had never really cared for this man because he had utterly destroyed our church…and everbody who hadn’t died had left it.  The church was down to just about 8 members now…and my family was the only remnant left in it.  And now I could understand why…clearly this preacher had over stepped his boundary…not just with me but with many others.

So following the forehead thing… I stopped going to church for a while…but God spoke into my heart and told me that I could not stop going to church…nor to allow satan to chase me out of  church.  So, I went back.

And this time the preacher…again before he was to preach…he came down out of  the pulpit and started walking down along the one side of  the church as if  he were walking to the rear of the church.  He stopped…and entered into my aisle where he soon took a seat right beside me and commenced to ask me for my phone number.  I almost exploded.  I got loud for a second then remembered that I was  still in church.  Then I took the piece of paper wrote it and turned away from the man…trying to ignor him as he said something else to me. 

He did try to call me at least once…but I never answered.  Finally, when I went to church again…just as he got up to begin preaching he stopped and began talking about how he had been trying to reach me.  This mind you from the pulpit.  I was livid.

Now, this was too much.  This guy was beside himself and he wasn’t even trying to hide it.  Funny, I am just now thinking of  it…but this guy was stalking me.  I could barely go into church without him doing something to embarrass me.

I went on and on for weeks about this guy…verbally voicing my anger about it.   I know my son must have grown tired of  hearing me complaining about this preacher and his poor behavior…but  I could not help it.  

First of  all…this man was and is  in his seventies…and though his wife was ill she was still very much alive.  But I would not have wanted him regardless…as this man had known me since I  was a kid.  And I felt this whole thing was not only an insult to me…but to the memory of  my parents.

Finally a few weeks ago I had an opportunity to confront this preacher…it was over something involving another issue…but sooner or later he was going to hear from me regarding the matter because it was eating at me.  At that time I did not fail at the end of  our discourse to tell  him just how I felt about  him putting  his  nasty forehead to mind and chasing behind me like he was some kind of  dog in heat.  Well, I didn’t quite say it that way…but I said it and got it off my chest any how.  And I have not had to worry about him since…and it still feels good.

Anybody seeing any or all of that would have assumed that he and I had a relationship going on…and nothing could have been further from the truth.  I do not know what could have  possibly possessed him…and given him the idea that he could do such a thing to me…but he was definitely coming on strong.  And the sheer thought of  it made me sick to my absolute  stomach.

Something has definitely happened to the church.  It is doing something that my father called…‘going backwards instead of going frontward.’   The holy ground that the church once had…that it possessed and stood on…it is rapidly lossing.  Too much of the changing times…excepting everything…and wanting to incorporate too many things of  the world is pulling at the very fabric of  the church.  We are going backward…and lossing too much solid ground in the process.

Where are teachers and preachers who taught this stuff  the way it used to be taught?

Since alot of  people having been hitting this site to read about Ruby Dee lately…I can only assume that it has a lot to do with Academy Awards.  I had read that she had gotten the nod for a nomination for a possible Oscar.  Now that would have been nice, but I did not find her name anywhere on the list of  Academy Nominees.

It cannot be argued that Ruby Dee is an actor’s actor.  She along with a long  list of  outstanding black men and women certainly can be labelled ‘fine craftsmen’ in their art form…having worked in both stage and screen quietly for many years. 

I often think of  Lena Horne…or a Hattie McDaniel when I think of really great women actors or performers. ..like Paul Robeson…as well as Ruby Dee and others.  I would have loved to have casted some of  them in one of  my films.

Well, hope that you have enjoyed Black History Month…and learned as much as you could about some these men and woman who have melted away into our  past…but should always be celebrated and their lives…work…and struggles always  remind us of  just how blessed we are…because of  them.

And since I am ending on this note…on films and actors.  I hated ‘Precious’ the movie.   I found a lot of  errors in that movie…technical stuff  that was just hard to overlook.  For 1…and I will just point out 1 thing only.  Did you notice that Precious and her mother lived in an apartment building?

Then how in the world did they end up with an upstairs and downstairs in their apartment?

It was not like they were living the penthouse of  some exclusive building.

And the music was all wrong…and a lot of  other stuff.  Okay…I said 1.  But I just had to try and sneak that in.

But I did like Gabby, the young actor who played Precious.  I however did not feel that the script was the very best.  And though Mo’que really…really…really played her part.  And she truly did…but I would hate to see an Oscar go to her. 

I just don’t think we should celebrate that kind of  mother.  And there are women who are just like that to their children…and they never ever should be celebrated on any level.

Speaking of  Mo’que while checking on something over the internet I happened to come across a note…that Mo’que herself  had been a victim of  incest…having been taken advantage of  by  her own brother.  That story is in a past issue of   Essence…October 2008 issue.

I had  to shovel snow 3 times this week.  One day twice…and it had me laid up for most of the week.  But since those 2 days it has mostly been rain…and thank goodness.   Because if  it had been snow…the way it has been raining…night and day…they would have had to have flown somebody in here to dig us all out.  We would have been buried under it.

But I have been on top of  my Cream of  Wheat and taking my iron tablets.   And  the house amazingly hasn’t been too cold…praise the Lord.

But it  is all good.

I really  really love winter…it  is  so beautiful. 

Next year I will have me a husband…somebody who can go out and shovel snow with me.  Somebody I can hit with a snowball or 2…and then go in and cuddle with. 

Now, that would be so nice.  And we could drink hot chocolate and talk about how the Republicans keep trying to hinder Obama by blocking everything that he is trying to do.

And then we’ll put in a movie..and call it a day.  But not before we pray.

Something out of sync…Juanita Bynum

I have been thinking about the below video since I first saw it.  I found it a bit troubling… perhaps many of you won’t understand this blog at all…but those who are under the blood of  Jesus Christ will… I believe might.

So, if you do not…it is okay.   It’s alright.

But what has me wondering about the below video?

Well… at first it was why in the world was Juanita Bynum wasting her time to produce a video about  Valentine’s Day????

For a self-proclaimed prophet…(now turned actor etc…etc..)…and woman of  letters (a doctor of  ministry???)… why would she be celebrating something which has nothing at all to do with anything Biblical?

And then want to make a video about her celebrating it????

Then the other thing that troubled me about the below video was this…

Now, I am not a drug person…and I know very little about drugs.  But one day someone was talking to me about a possible job…and another person who was already working for my family was present with me while the other person talked to me regarding the possibility of  being hired.     Well, following after that person had left, the other person who was with me…who already worked for our family… turned to me and said-

“Did you see how she was acting?”

I had no idea what she  was talking about…as I had noticed nothing.  But the other woman went on to say-

“You didn’t see how she kept on moving and didn’t stop?”

I said, “No.”

But once she had said it…I did note in the back of mind how much the woman while she was talking to me had kept moving her arms restlessly about…but it had not meant anything to me at the time.  But it had meant a lot to the other woman who had been standing there near me looking on as the other woman talked with me.  She then commenced to begin to tell me that  the woman had to be on drugs.  She said-

“Only drug addicts act like that.”

And while I watched the below video of  Juanita Bynum that is exactly what struck me…how she continuously keeps on moving.  Her movements seem erratic.   The working of her arms…hands… head… facial expressions… and body.

And I also noticed how seductive and cute-sie her movements appeared to be.  Almost like a clamorous woman in a bar.  Now, I have seen 1 or 2  of  those  in my life time.  Never been one…but have seen them.  But on Dr.  Bynum’s part in the below video they seemed to be quite intentional and purposeful…as if  she wanted to entice someone.

However, I found it odd behavior all the way around.   And as I watched the video again…I noticed how she passed her hand across her nose (her new nose) …as I had once or twice seen people do who sniff cocaine (seen that move in movies a lot).  And she sniffles at least a few times in the below video.   Signs which had been pointed out to me by people who were familiar with such things…consistent signs of  someone  who sniffs cocaine.

I may not know that much about drugs …but clearly the odd behavior of Bynum only heightened  by Juanita’s high level of  gaiety  in the below  video is questionable at best…not to mention the total subject matter about Valentine’s Day…and how she was going to celebrate it…etc…etc…

It was everything but  godly?

Which prompted me to wonder why would a woman of  God want to produce such a video?

And particularly about a holiday which clearly is not…for the most part godly.  But  created for lovers…and/or  want to be lovers.

Clearly, the below video was not intended for anyone but her ex-husband.   Why else would anyone make such a fool of  themself  concerning  Valentine’s Day and their plans on celebrating it?

But he it seems has moved on.  The same advice I would give to  Juanita Bynum.

He recently purchased a warehouse in Atlanta and turned it into his new church and video/internet production house.

And what did Juanita do?

She went back down to Atlanta and  is renting or purchased  her own warehouse…where she currently holds services.   And dubbed it  ‘The Warehouse’…and officially launched her leadership as a pastor over her own church.   But it is a far cry from the ex’s.  Obiviously his family indulges him…highly…as he is a third generation preacher…and his wife-to-be comes from a line of preachers too.    That  mixed with a little elbow-grease from his membership…lots of  elbow-grease by them based upon the video…they have really put together something.   CLICK BELOW until the video comes up…and ignore the text…if you want to see his new house of  worship.

Weeks’ new wife-to-be  looks very young though…but can’t find anything on her age.  And they seem to be seeking their fame and fortune over the internet.  When they marry it will be his 3rd marriage and her second.  And Juanita Bynum’s marriage to him was her 2nd.

I also have to admit to question much about  Juanita Bynum lately…as I am not familiar with her past history as a woman of God.  But I found it quite odd when she decided to put her wedding gown back on…and wheel that  very large diamond encrusted sword…proclaiming herself  to be ‘Juanita Bynum for the second time’…Juanita Bynum II.   It seemed more to me like she was marrying herself.  It was an odd ceremony.

The Bible says…then went in the man with 7  more spirits, and the latter state of that man was worst than his 1st.   And Peter said  it like this-

“It is better for a man to have not known him than to have known him and then return back to sin…like a dog to his own vomit.”

There is something out of sync here.

I am actually sadden by it…and hope that I am incorrect.   As  I really do hate to see people warring within themselves…and loosing the battle to things of  this world.

Update (September 1, 2009):  The date has been set…November 17th will be the wedding day for Bishop Week’s 3rd marriage…of  which he managed somehow to find his new bride over the internet…(what a joke…and crime against God).

When he failed to get a TV deal for his bride-finding reality show (little wonder why following his wife abuse charges).   Then decided to air his hunt over the internet…hence, his new bride.

I think his plan is to try to make her bigger than Juanita Bynum…since Bishop Week’s claims that he made Juanita Bynum.  And he is indeed trying hard.

Little wonder their marriage didn’t last…it was highly flawed…and so were they.  And the real tragedy was that they taught their mess to people who believed what they were preaching.  False teaching.

Today I messed up my book trailer and I am so upset.  Now, I will have to go back into the lab and re-work it.  It had been coming along so well… until I decided to rush things…and there in went the cause of  my problem.   Now everything looks like I’m rushing through it from frame to frame.   Which is exactly what I did do…because before I had thought that all the clips were a bit  too slow.   And now they are the reverse.

Oh, well…I will learn.  That is the thing about me I sometimes find myself re-learning old lessons…and it always costs me time.

So yes…I’m still working on my book trailer  and plugging to officially start plugging  my book, THE BISHOP’S WIFE.     But it is just about ready for youtube.    Then I will be back to completing my radio spot…and finally finish up with the pages for my web site.  Soon and very soon…   It  is coming.
